20070506 Aid Shipment
ShadowScope 04:10, 6 May 2007 (BST)
Suggestion type
Improvement.
Suggestion scope
Suriviors.
Suggestion description
Forts are basically deathtraps, I know that. And useless deathtraps at that, a mall store has more guns than a Fort. Also, there is the possiblity of crates, which are not as good as well. But I feel that perhaps there could be a way to make this game more fun by providing suriviors with a brand new Fort buff, hopefully.
Within the Armories of each Fort lies a Military Transmitter. When powered, you can see a brand new button: "Request Aid Shipment For" and a drop-down menu for all the suburbs within the game. A person within a fort can spend 5 AP to beg the military to send help to one suburb. Within 1 to 3 hours, the military will start sending crates to the people within the suburb, and these crates with random items can help aid the Suriviors, if they ever stumble upon them.
It's not much, and you could accidently aid the Zombie cause by sending them crates that they can break, but if an area is under seige, it's the least you can do to help the Surivior cause.
However, the military only have a limited amount of resources. At the front of the Aid Shipment, you see a number indicating the amount of Aid Shipments the Military can send. From each Fort, you can only send a total of 10 Aid Shipments per day. On the begining of every reset, the total of Aid Shipments that can be requested will be set to 10.
Yes, you can send all the Aid Shipments to help defend your Fort. I doubt the other Suriviors would like it though. They might call you trenchcoaty.

- Change - This is overpowered at best, disastrous at worst. Reduce the 10 to 1 per person per day, and no more than 3/5 per day overall, and you have a workable suggestion. And even then- I believe you need a chance to get your request denied, especially based on your class- 75/50/25 percent chance to get it granted, from military/civilian/scientist classes.
- Change - See my comments on the discussion page. I like this one but the current version is overpowered. --Uncle Bill 07:09, 6 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill - WOuld result in 10 shipments to the same suburb within 5 minutes of the server-reset. And since xp isn't as valuable as items, this is a survivor-only buff. - BzAli 08:27, 6 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill Nice Idea, too powerfull. If you put it up on discussions I'm sure something can be worked out.--Seventythree 11:02, 6 May 2007 (BST)
- WCDZ - if only to prevent Grim S returning in a blaze of fire and brimstone.--Vista 12:00, 6 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill - Can anyone say bot abuse? - JedazΣT MC ΞD GIS S! 12:24, 6 May 2007 (GMT)
- Kill - too powerfull. 10 shipments from each person per day? it's a crate shower! --Duke GarlandLCD 16:46, 6 May 2007 (BST)
- Okay, wait. You see, it was supposed to be 10 shipments per day from each Armory. I like Uncle Bill's idea, since it looks great for this thing. As for placing this in discussion, the Discussion page is obsotle, so I thought I have no choice but to put it here. Assume this is discussion however, since I will create a brand new suggestion due to the flaws of this previous one.--ShadowScope 17:08, 6 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill - I'll go check out this discussion but I had all the same thoughts upon reading this. Maybe the RNG needs to be incorporated somehow. --Rasi 13:45, 6 May 2007 (EST)
- Kill - *thunk**thud**crack**Creak**smash**slam*. When it rains crates, it pours. --User:Axe27/Sig 20:30, 6 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill - I like, however change to only 1 person per week. That's plenty help, considering how often crates usually drop! --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 02:33, 7 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill - I think this would lead to something along the lines of survivor gang war, with a certain group in power ninja-ing into forts and hoarding supply requests for a certain area. Sounds a little dangerous, and I really think it would make the game a little bit unbalanced and reduce the fun factor. Maybe add some more randomness to the drops? Pan 03:07, 7 May 2007 (BST)
- Change - I like it, but as allot of people have said already change it to 1 per day. Make that change and I think this 'll get passed. --Wee Sonny MacGregor 03:14, 7 May 2007 (BST)
- Change - As above. --Sonofagun18 06:16, 7 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill - Forts got sufficient attention, let other places get better too. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 10:21, 14 May 2007 (BST)
