Internal Barricading

Modernplague 05:43, 13 May 2007 (BST)

Suggestion Type New Skill

Suggestion Scope Survivors, Zombies Attacking Large Buildings

Suggestion Description The skill "Internal Barricading" will be a subskill of Construction, and will allow survivors to barricade large buildings on the inside, making it so that if one square is gone, the rest of the building won't be tottaly screwed. They will be barricaded separately, using separate AP. They will also be able to only barricade it up to VSB, so as to maintain game balance. You will still be able to see everybody else in the other squares of the building.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep -Part just to be annoying. But, It's a reversion of history to claim that back in the day that malls had internal walls Malls were impossible to seige. They weren't. That's why caiger 1 was as important as it was. Because it didn't get beat while every other mall did. And they needed a lot more people inside then there were zombies outside. Even back then the malls always lost rather quickly. This suggestion isn't perfect. But malls are so easy to crack right now, it isn't funny anymore. I quit the '07 mall tour, because almost every time I got there the mall was already cleared within the day the target got announced.--Vista +1 20:37, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  2. keep much as i hate mall-centric play this makes sense, at least in theory. I do think that it should cost more than regular barricading to reflect how open real malls are but otherwise hard to fault on anything other than being a mall buff! On this issue though I do feel the game needs some sort of penalty to reflect the overcrowding in some buildings of which Malls are the worst offenders--Honestmistake 02:10, 14 May 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - You cannot maintain game balance, if all malls suddenly became barricaded inside as well. All that keeps malls balanced is the fact that zeds only has to breach one corner. - BzAli 08:56, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - I just remember when each block of large buildings were treated as separate buildings. Made malls almost impossible to siege -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 10:52, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - as above --Duke GarlandLCD 11:26, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill Nah. HTat just would'nt work at all. For a lot of the reasons above.--Seventythree 12:32, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill That will be way too easy for survivots. --JudeMaverick 13:05, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - As above, and I spend most of my time defending malls. This is more than just a game balance issue, it also reflects that these large types of buildings have multiple entrances and it is harder to keep the zombies out. Internal barricading is also out of genre. In any good zombie movie, as soon as one zed manages to get inside the building becomes a death trap and you're better off running. --Uncle Bill 13:55, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - A good idea, but it would unbalance the game. --Saluton 16:35, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - Good bye mall sieges. --Heavy DDR 16:43, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill - God no. This game is supposed to be balanced. --User:Axe27/Sig 18:12, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  10. Change - Not the worst idea in the world, but needs some revision. Doing this should be AP expensive, in order to reflect the difficulty of such a thing (basically building a wall out of debris), i.e. it should take more action points to reach each stage of barricading. --The Hierophant 02:56, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - Unbalanced and out of genre. --Sonofagun18 05:20, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  12. Kill - Unba... you know the rest. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 07:54, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  13. Kill - As above. - JedazΣT MC ΞD CT SR: 09:57, 15 May 2007 (GMT)
  14. Kill Breaks up the malls into individual cells. --Secruss 16:43, 26 May 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - To many details missing, and major imbalance issues. 1) If breaking in from outside, do zombies need to overcome the external barricades, and then also the internal ones? That would suck. 2) Being able to see through the internal barricades to other parts of the building certainly counts as "x-ray vision". 3) VSB barricades are actually pretty secure when you have enough people doing active barricading. In a mall siege, barricades really only have 2 meaningful status levels; up (as strong as survivors can make them) and down (when the zombies have a strike group acting). --Seb_Wiers VeM 13:24, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam - Got to agree with Seb, this would not only would this make already AP injured zombies waste even more but it would basically make malls unkillable. Ransack is there for a reason and this basically just removes what makes ransack useful. This suggestions would basically make it so that only 1 portion of a mall needs to be running for the mall to work and would end up making malls every resource building but with higher search rates and no downside. This would end the game for zombies completely.--karek 06:52, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  3. I gotta agree with Swiers. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:01, 17 May 2007 (BST)
