Suggestion description
It would be interesting to be able to tell how long a building has been held by survivors or ransacked. I suggest that as time goes on a ransacked building or occupied intact building developes additional descriptions saying how long it has been that way. This would assume that a cracked building continues to get slightly more decrepit while time passes, and that survivors in an occupied building are constantly doing what they can to improve things. For instance, a ruined building that has been held for days might have "the wall paper is beginning to peel from days of being exposed to the elements". Or a long survivor occupied mall might say "the shelves have been neatly arranged over the weeks to aid in finding items". Basically just something that gives a vague time period (hours, weeks, months, years, etc.).

- Keep - As below.--Wooty 16:38, 29 August 2007 (BST)
- Weak Keep - As long as it does not effect the game in any way other than adding flavor (no percentage changes, etc.), it's a fairly good idea. --Saluton 16:50, 29 August 2007 (BST)
- Keep - I support the idea in principle. Server load etc is a matter for Kevan. -- Pavluk 16:59, 29 August 2007 (BST)
- Keep - I like it. -- Staszyk 17:34, 29 August 2007 (BST)
- Keep -Yeah, if my group manages to hold a building for 6 months, we want to be rewarded. What about a "building history" thing which is literally explained as a poster updated by "offscreen npcs", so 8 months of holding a building isn't totally forgotten just because the zeds grabbed and held it for 5 minutes? Might be a bit hard to store all the data, even if all time was in 1-day as the minimum unit, but we aren't supposed to vote on that.--AlexanderRM 18:02, 29 August 2007 (BST)
- Keep -I like this...it would add more flavor to the game.--MikhailA 18:37, 29 August 2007 (BST)

- Keep - Nice flavor.-- Vista +1 12:46, 4 September 2007 (BST)
- Keep - Nice use of flavor, but i have one concern, that when you said about it being neatly arranged to aid finding. I think that if you were to change it to something like "The extra lighting shows that X's are neatly arranged to aid in finding items". Which would be true, as power increases find rate! --Acoustic Pie 23:18, 4 September 2007 (BST)
- Keep - The ..."neatly arranged over the weeks to aid in finding items" part could be problematic, (people thinking it really helps) but other than that its good. -- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 00:01, 5 September 2007 (BST)
- Screw it. I'm not giving a reason for the rest of my votes in this spree.-- dǝǝɥs oʇ ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 17:19, 9 September 2007 (BST)
- Keep - Interesting flavour addition
- Keep - Good idea, gives you a time frame.
- Keep - I like it, and things like ivy overgrowing the facade, and a maintained garden or lawn for outside would be good too. JD 00:45, 15 September 2007 (BST)
Kill Votes
- kill - Not really needed... And, something like this is a de facto feature with museum pieces. Maybe zambahz need something like that, though... brain hangings, banana peel mobiles, velvet Jorms and paintings of zombies playing poker?? i dunno.... but something, yeah... :D --WanYao 16:33, 29 August 2007 (BST)
- Kill - It doesn't really matter, and if it does, you can always ask. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 19:27, 29 August 2007 (BST)
- Kill - Survivors have enough flavor buffs.--Karekmaps?! 03:23, 30 August 2007 (BST)
- Kill - This is not a harmless flavor change. Putting time lines on how long buildings have been in a given state would change game tactics and target selection. It does not look like this aspect of the suggestion has been thought out yet. My guess is that this change would probably end up hurting survivors in the long run.--Pestilent Nomad 11:03, 2 September 2007 (BST)
