Suggestion:20100302 Broadcaster
Time: George Zip ◆◆◆ 01:46, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Type: Survivor skill
Description: Allows longer transmissions from radio operators.
This is very simple: It's just a skill you can buy once you have "Radio Operation," for the same amount of XP (variable, based on your class). Once you have broadcasting, you can transmit the full 250 characters of text you get when normally speaking.

Keep Votes
- . I couldn't find any evidence that this has been suggested before. -George Zip ◆◆◆ 01:46, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- Keep - Why? Because at least it means annoying radio chatter takes up less room on the page. 16:10, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- Keep - I like this, although it does mean spammers have more room to spam, it does allow those that do use the radio responsibly to communicate better. Jpanzer 16:41, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- Keep - I think this is a great idea, but I agree with Jpanzer that it does give a bigger opportunity for spammers, still communication skills are great as long as it remains balanced i.e. "Broadcaster" for humans, and some upgraded comms skill for zeds. Kill Votes
- . Too much spam on the radio as it is. I don't see a reason to allow text rapists even more room to spew their filth --Technerd CFT U! 02:22, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kill - There's no reason to allow it. The current limit helps to keep the spam down a bit. This would cause it to explode 500%. —Aichon— 06:19, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kill - I see, so now text rapist aren't limited to a few buildings per day... Now they can rape the entire channel with AP to spare. Good in concept, bad if actually implemented. -Devorac 07:02, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kill - As above.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 07:34, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kill- See above -- 08:48, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kill - I really, really, really wish I could vote keep on this one, but the above reasoning is just too large of an elephant to ignore for something like this. --Maverick Talk - OBR 404 09:38, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kill - Would be nice... but would also invoke the not-so-nice. --Private Mark 22:50, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kill - As much as I like the idea of speaking with a polished broadcaster voice, it does seem that spam and server load would be increased by implementation of the suggestion.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 09:35, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kill - Would be nice to have a new skill; but that will never happen, aside from that you would just end up getting longer spam on the radio as others have said.--Truezombieboy 06:07, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- Kill - As others have already said, there's nothing wrong with this suggestion, and it's reasonable, but unfortunately it would give spammers a lot more room to spam. While this could helps survivors broadcast more easily, it would certainly be abused to the point where it's not worth it. --Fujiko Mine 16:34, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - Because that's all that will come of this being implemented. --Papa Moloch 05:26, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- SPAM ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾᚨᚾᛏ 18:27, 5 March 2010 (UTC) - Justify your vote. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 18:32, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- Spam - The current limit exists to reduce server strain. Keep pushing the server and we have outages, like we did during On Strike, which is what caused the new limits on speaking. I'd remind all that there is no upper limit on who hears a radio broadcast, unlike speech which is limited to 50 accounts hearing the message and 250 characters per message. Each current stupid message (see the Pitneybank frequency) has no limit to the amount of work the server has to do other than the 50 character limit. You pay extra AP to get to reach an audience of more than 50 in order to protect the game itself from crashing. Deal with it. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 18:37, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- Spam - As Isc. Learn to be concise. --Ocular Druuuuu 07:14, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
