Suggestions System Not Moving
There's a huge backlog of suggestions in Previous Days that haven't been cycled to Reviewed / Undecided / Rejected. Anyone with the will and the time? (Note: I haven't got either.) --Funt Solo 16:59, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- Heh, 2 months worth is huge? Well I guess it is these days, for me about 6 months was huge, but you get that. Anyway I hope you can find someone willing because it's a pain in the arse when it gets really backed-up. - JedazΣT MC ΞD GIS S! 12:28, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah - 6 months - you must be mad! I simply don't have the time to deal with them these days. It's a pity, because it means that 2 months worth of Reviewed suggestions aren't in the right place for He Who Shall Remain Nameless to read them. Oh well - He seems to be coming up with update ideas without our help well enough. --Funt Solo 13:31, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm online in the morning a lot before I head to school at 10AM EST. I have plenty of time, but cycling the suggestions? I don't know how to do it...can someone explain, please? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:47, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Jedaz is your best bet, he designed the system and did an amazing amount in heavy lifting in fixing it.--Vista 14:28, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'd have a pop, I'm just not quite sure on how to do it. -- TheDavibob T 17:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- There are instructions on the top of this page. I'm going to make a start on the backlog tonight, but i'd sincerely appreciate some help.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 17:46, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've started the backlog, done one day. Can you tell me when you're starting, so I know when to stop? -- TheDavibob T 17:54, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- For cycling Previous Days into Reviewed / Undecided / Rejected, there are some instructions at the top of the relevant pages, but mostly, it's a case of monkey-see, monkey-do. Reviewed and Undecided use the psuggestion template. In the case of Undecided, I often used the summary of "see original votes for details", sometimes with a link to the relevant Previous Days page. Remember, Undecided is 50-65% Keeps, Reviewed is 66%+ Keeps. Rejected uses the prejection template, and doesn't summarise the votes (which will have been 49% or less Keeps). Placement in Undecided / Rejected is chronological. Placement in Reviewed is a matter of judgement as to which is the most apt section to place it in. Have a good read over the section headings, and you should find it's fairly easy to choose the correct one. I re-ordered them (the individual sections) as alphabetical when I did the major revamp last year, so the "Top 30 Most Recent" list at the top of the page is now very important and should be kept up to date. You should find that cycling the rejected/undecided doesn't take too long - as there's not much editing to do - it's more like shoveling. The Reviewed (which should be far fewer) are the ones that take a while. (Whilst I was looking after the process for a few months last year, I used to cross my fingers that most of the suggestions wouldn't be Peer Reviewed - just because of the work involved.) --Funt Solo 17:59, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've noticed the PRV take longer, however I've nearly finished the second day (24th Jan). Bear with me. This could take some time. -- TheDavibob T 18:04, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

One thing I've not added to the instructions, which I'd started doing (and people have thankfully copied), was adding the red "not yet cycled" message to the Previous Days lists. (Prior to that, you had to search through the various sections to see if they'd been cycled or not - which was a nightmare and a half.) The instructions don't say, but clearly that notice should be removed when a particular section has been cycled. --Funt Solo 18:08, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I would Funt, but ATM January is locked down, which is a bit of a problem. :? -- TheDavibob T 18:12, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
That's Jan done. I need a rest. -- TheDavibob T 20:30, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
I am no use with code and don't have time anyway but thought it well worth a minute to say "well done". Thanks for the hard work chaps, it is appreciated!--Honestmistake 00:21, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Jan's done? Hooray! My Help Book suggestion makes it into PR finally. Now to help on that cycling problem... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 12:49, 20 March 2007 (UTC) Feb 2nd done. Took me a while to figure out how to do this. I'll do more right now, but I have to get to school... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:00, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Am I the only one cycling the uncycled suggestions to Review, Undecided, and Reject now? It sure seems that way...'cause now I'm stump on this one suggestion. It goes into Reviewed but I really don't know where... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:38, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
I'd take a crack at it, but I'll wait until I get an internet connection that doesn't suck ass first.--Pesatyel 05:55, 26 March 2007 (BST)
- At this rate...we'll have another 3 month backlot... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:27, 26 March 2007 (BST)
- Axe Hack - I'd put that one under "Class Change: Survivor & Zombie". It's the only one that all the different bits fit into. --Funt Solo 13:25, 26 March 2007 (BST)
7 more days in February to cycle. Who wants to tackle it? Come on...don't let me take all the glory! --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:16, 26 March 2007 (BST)
Hooray! February is done! Now for March... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:55, 30 March 2007 (BST)
