"Shades Of Malton"

Hello, my group just now moved into the area, and we are settling in. We have ten members, but lack of doctors are holding us back from completing our move. Alot of people in Pitney suggested you guys as revive specialists, so i came to formally request an alliance. We could provide basic security for your labs and research points in Pitney. I'm just a Co-Leader however, for more I'd appreciate if your leader came to our forum and talked with our founder. Here's a link: http://z10.invisionfree.com/Shades_of_Malton/index.php?act=idx. Thank you for your time and we hope to hear from you soon. --PFC 00:16, 13 September 2008 (BST)

Red Cresent Research Facility.

I believe we have some of the same research goals. You wish to understand the virus, we wish to cure it, which requires an understanding. Perhaps a research alliance may a good thing between our two groups. Red Cresent Research Facility personnel await your answer on our forum or discussion page.--G-Man 04:25, 22 August 2008 (BST)

Hello Dr. Lizardo... The Chili Corporation has gotten a big thumbs up from our boss about our research alliance with you and yours... Also if I may suggest so myself, our alliances should form a coalition... dedicated to research and developments in the field that NT was once top dog at... Of course the groups that aren't particularly research minded could do their part in defending our HQ's and research grounds... I hope to hear from you... http://z15.invisionfree.com/Malton/index.php?showforum=27 --Thermopylae 22:33, 5 June 2008 (BST) Also if you'd register there it'd be much appreciated!! We'll PM you the forum's password!

Yoyodyne Zombie Research Institute Journal

July 30, 2008 Been on hiatus in Edgecombe helping the VZW and the Secret Order of Decorators repair and rebuild that area. I must say the cooking is very good at their HQ, and the sporting events are a joy to watch. If you havent seen the Running Man event, you are missing out!

June 7, 2008 Trying to regroup at HQ after yet another wave of wretched undead ransacked our research stations.

March 7, 2008 Have added the new Yoyodyne Ganglion Probe Research page. Hopefully the new organization of information will lead to a discovery of a cure.

March 2, 2008 Exciting news for the Institute, two new researchers have joined the team. Their stats can be found on the front page.

February 20, 2008 After a short hiatus in Edgecombe coordinating some fresh brews down my throat with the Edgecombe Families, Junkyard Dogs, and VZW at the Clatworthy Arms - I have made my way back to the Lowther Building to check on the local situation there again.

January 30, 2008 I ran out of ammunition collecting the rotten grey matter of a particularily persistant zombie today. So, I made a long run south to Mitchem Mall in order to restock. The number of ruined buildings is staggering, and the stench of rotting flesh is ever present on the winds.

January 29, 2008 As luck would have it, there were several friends already in the Lowther Building. I name them here so that anyone finding this journal will know that these are the best of friends worthy trust and praise; Alex Goulding, Vincent Coccotti, and Jadis Blue. I could also tell when I visited the roof-top green house that my dear friend, Ettore Fieramosca, had visited recently and watered the seedling tobacco plants there. Luckily the zombies rarely pay any attention to those precious seedlings and they have survived many break-ins.

January 28, 2008 I have spent a week fighting the ravening horde outside the Mall, healing, barricading, reviving and shooting undead monsters. This evening I'll make a run back to Lowther and see if any friends have returned there.

January 21, 2008 The horde outside Morrish has switched its attention to the NE corner of Giddings Mall. I've taken the opportunity to move back to Lowther and see how my friends are doing there. Must say it is nice to be home and to have my still back up and running.

January 17, 2008 Moved into the Giddings Mall to help with zed eviction and healing today. Outside of Morrish the horde is steady at 225 zombies and inside there are 348 survivors.

January 16, 2008 Institute operatives are currently conducting Horde research at the Morrish Building NT Facility (84,43). Today's horde size was 273 zombies. Inside there are currently 368 survivors.

January 15, 2008 Institute operatives are currently conducting Horde research at the Morrish Building NT Facility (84,43). Today's horde size was 247 zombies. Inside there are currently 382 survivors.

January 14, 2008 Institute operatives are currently conducting Horde research at the Morrish Building NT Facility (84,43). Today's horde size was 232 zombies.

January 12, 2008 Due to overwhelming zombie attacks, the Institute has had to relocate operations from the Lowther Building (86,48) to the Giddings Mall.

Current Institute Research Intiatives

Bio Chip Enhancements for DNA Extractors

During a recent excursion through the Suburb of Lamport Hills, Dr Emilio Lizardo discovered a cache of Military Grade Bio Chips inside an abandoned Warehouse. Useless by themselves, Dr Lizardo has been researching ways to modify the standard issue NecroTech DNA Extractor to incorporate the Bio Chip and allow NecroTech Employees to scan subjects for infections in addition to normal scanning functions.

Bio Chip Enhanced DNA Extractor

Timestamp: --Dr Emilio Lizardo 17:51, 26 October 2007 (BST)
Type: New Item
Scope: For Survivors with Necrotech Abilities
Description: Bio-Chips were developed by a joint Military/NecroTech venture and shipped to Malton just prior to the outbreak. Unfortunately, the shipping company responsible for distribution was completely overrun and destroyed by zombies before it could deliver the boxes of Bio-Chips to NecroTech facilities in Malton.
  • These forgotten boxes are located in (10) warehouses scattered across the suburbs.
  • Bio-Chips can be found at a 2% search rate when searching in one of these (10) warehouses.
  • Bio-Chips have a 1% encumbrance value.

A survivor with the NecroNet Access skill, a bio chip, a DNA Extractor, and who is inside of a powered NecroTech Facility can for (20) AP modify the DNA Extractor with the Bio-Chip allowing a new type of scan. When all the conditions above are present, a button will appear next to 'Manufacture Syringe' that will read: Modify Extractor with Bio-Chip (20) AP. After pushing this button, a modified extractor will then appear in your inventory as Enhanced DNA Extractor and carry a 5% encumbrance value. The Bio-chip and standard DNA Extractor are 'used-up' in the creation process.

With the new Bio-Chip Enhanced DNA Extractor, a survivor would expend the typical (1) AP to perform a normal scan of a zombie. If that scan is successful, your screen would show a new button below the typical scan report that reads 'Scan Subject for Infection (1) AP' - pressgin this button would scan the subject for infection and provide a new report reading either: subject NAME is infected with active virus if the corpse is infected, or subject NAME shows no sign of active virus if the corpse is not infected. If a player performs an action other than 'Scan Subject for Infection,' this button goes away.

Notes on placement of Bio-chip Warehouses: I believe that limiting the number of warehouses with bio-chips to (10) and not announcing which ones have the chips, will provide an interesting and difficult goal for survivors to hunt for these locations. Once the warehouses are found, they will become focal points to be contested by survivors and zombies. For this reason I would propose that certain criteria be imposed when selecting where these warehouses should be located - first, a maximum of one such warehouse per suburb. Second, non shall be located in a suburb that also has a mall. Third, none shall be located in a suburb that has more than two necrotech facilities. This should spread them out and add some value to suburbs that are short on resource buildings.

Enhanced Revivification Syringes

Hundreds of survivors are brought back from the dead each day through the use of Necrotech Revivification Syringes. Many of the recently revived awake to find a persistant and virulent infection still courses through their blood stream. Dr Lizardo has been researching new ways to combine the potent serum within the standard NecroTech Syringe with the healing capabilities of a typical First Aid Kit. He believes that he is close to discovering a way for a skilled NecroTech employee working inside a powered NecroTech facility to create over the course of several hours a new Syringe that would not only revive a recently dead survivor, but also cure them of any infection.

Enhanced Revivification Syringes

Timestamp: --Dr Emilio Lizardo 17:53, 26 October 2007 (BST)
Type: New Item
Scope: For Survivors with Necrotech abilities
Description: NecroTech Engineers have struggled to overcome the problems presented by virulent infections killing the recently revived. Some recent experiments have had encouraging results.
  • A survivor with NecroNet Access Skill, a First Aid Kit, a Revivification Syringe and who is inside of a powered NecroTech Facility will show a new button next to the 'Manufacture Syringe Button' that will be labeled 'Enhance Revivification Syringe.'
  • Initiating this action will cost (4) AP and produce a new 'Enhanced Revivification Syringe' that has a 4% encumbrance value.
  • Making the new syringe uses up the FAK and the normal syringe, removing them from your inventory.
  • Your inventory will now show an Enhanced Revivification Syringe which can be used exactly like a normal syringe with one small bonus. When a zombie is revived with an Enhanced Revivification Syringe it will also be cured of any infection it may have. When this happens, the 'revivor' will have an additional line of information added to the typical report given after reviving a corpse that says: your Enhanced Revivification Syringe has also cured this person of their infection.
  • Note that Enhanced Revivification Syringes are never 'found.'
  • Using an Enhanced Revivification Syringe on a person who is not infected simply revives them.

Necrotic Cyst Research

Observation of certain Zombies that carry a particularily toxic infection has revealed that some are developing the ability to fill a large cyst located within their cranium with infected bile. While this ability seems to restrict the Zombie's movement, it can prove quite dangerous to any Hunter who fires a headshot into a Cyst filled with Necrotic Infection. Dr Lizardo is currently seeking input from professtional Zombie Hunters to further explain this phenomena.

The Great Suburb Group Massacre

Stop hand.png Group Active? Request.
In order to maintain the wiki as an up to date source of information groups are occasionally removed from the Suburb pages when they are no longer active. Is this group still active? If so simply confirm here by writing something below. If not it will be removed from suburb pages in 14 days.

Currently the suburb in question is Pitneybank but one response to this query will be all that is needed to protect your group link on all suburb pages. I know this is a random request but its for all groups regardless of size. Thank you. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:15, 20 July 2008 (BST)
