...Troubridge Cinema, a recent comedy film still looping silently on its main screen.

Description

Troubridge Cinema is a movie theater located in the suburb of Dulston in the very northeast corner of Malton. As such, the cinema can only be approached from 3 directions, making it a strong defensive location in the days following the "Malton Incident". Troubridge Cinema is well known for having a preference to showcase foreign (read: subtitled) or classic black & white movies. While not a large theater by any means it still houses 4 wide screens on which it showed independent, classic, and foreign language films in preference to the newly released Hollywood blockbusters. The smallest of these screening rooms could seat 83 patrons, followed by theater rooms that had 110 seats, 178 seats, and lastly 282 seats.

The cinema originally opened in 1965 in the old Kennings Waxworks building which had been shut down after a series of gruesome murders were discovered in the building's basement and were considered so horrific that every Malton newspaper of the day chose not to report the grisly details, but rather left it to the reader's own imagination when reading about the facts surrounding the dismembered corpses of several women found inside. In an attempt to distance itself from the building's ominous past and attract patrons the new owner, Patrick Mossberg, made certain that most of the movies shown at the time were comedies. This practice continued for a while until he started including more independent, classic, and foreign language films in the mix. Originally opened with only two screens, it wasn't until 1984 that the third and fourth screens were added and Troubridge Cinema became known as the largest independent cinema within Malton. These days while the cinema reels continue to play endlessly, the movies remain mostly unwatched.

Troubridge Cinema was closed prior to the "Malton Incident" for renovations.

The once infamous zombie group known as the Bela Lugosi Fan Klub was recorded to have commonly congregated in and around the Troubridge Cinema back when they still roamed the streets of Dulston. Those days have passed, but on occasion a Goth zombie has been known to shamble into Theater 1 in the futile, or perhaps stubborn, hope that a classic horror movie might be playing on the theater screen. Of course, being zombies, they never fully grasped the concept that the comedy movie currently playing in that theater room would continue to loop endlessly. On the other hand, in a more recent turn of events, a group of survivors had arranged "Night of the Living Dead" to play in the next theater room. Also a DVD player, jury-rigged in the 3rd screening room, has brought back the comedy with Red vs Blue, Blood Gulch Chronicles seasons 1-5.

The most recent times, because of the constant flux of guest, have been sight to the most popular movies airdropped in from the outside or looted from stores. A cage has been built for each of the running projectors so looters and zombies won't trash them. As of this history entry the projector locks are as follows. Theater 1 has a DvD and modern digital projector with no lock so the public may access it and play there own movies. Theater 2 host the monthly (really bi- or tri-) specials on a modern digital projector, with a lock that only the managers hold the keys to. Theater 3 host RvB seasons on a DvD projector, the key is held by the current leader of Dead vs Blue. Lastly theater 4 has an old reel projector for the classic Night of the Living Dead, the keys location is somewhere in Caleb Usher's pockets (sneaked in when he wasn't looking).

Now Playing

Troubridge Cimena is well known for playing classic black and white movies, and as such it should come at no surprise that the only two films that were currently playing at the theater, before RvB, were classics from the 1950s and 60s.

The other movie shown at the cinema is the classic horror film, Night of the Living Dead(1968) which was only recently recovered by survivors and is now playing in Theater 4. The fanatical survivors who recovered the film believe it to be a holy relic associated with St. Barbara's Church and the teachings of the Survivor Saints. While these survivors would like nothing more than to secure the precious film reel in the catacombs below the church they understand they must respect the film's true purpose, which is to teach others the true path to survival. In order to accomplish this goal the film needed to be shown in the theater where it belongs.

Survivors who visit the Troubridge Cinema to watch Night of the Living Dead will find that the horror movie plays out just like this...

When Mall Tour '07 marched into Dulston some survivors took refuge in the cinema. Among them was a survivor from a small branch-off group of Dead vs Blue called Red vs Dead. Unsunghero10, the only member, managed to jury-rig a DVD player to the Theater 3 projector and ever since seasons 1-4 of "Red vs Blue" have been playing endlessly. In Caleb Usher's opinion Episode 39, entitled "Best Laid Plans", was by far his hands-down favorite episode.

To review what movies are currently playing at the theater please refer to Now Playing for all your movie updates.

Barricade Policy

Barricades should be kept at Extremely Heavily at all times. The true purpose of this building is to serve as a heavily fortified shelter for Malton's veteran survivors. This ruling was set forth by the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram and is enforced by all member groups of the Dulston Alliance.

At this time two groups have claimed ownership of the cinema, Ragnarok - Dulston Chapter and Dead vs Blue.

Current Events

January 13th, 2013 - Took a swing by the cinema to see how it was doing, ran into a member of the Creedy Guerrilla Raiders. Repaired the genny and boogied on out. Sam Armitage

September 19th, 2010 - The Troubridge Cinema is now fully powered and populated by around 75 survivors. A sure sign that Dulston is rebuilding. Any and all survivors headed for Dulston should probably head here.

February 11th, 2010 - Rumors from radio say Troubridge Cinema has a secret entrance to outside of Malton's border. They say it is on NE corner from inside Cinema. It seems no one wanted to check it.

January 16th, 2009 - Right in the middle of the scene in Night of the Living Dead where the zombies break into the farm house, zombies tore down the theater's barricades and overran the building. So much for free popcorn night...

January 7th, 2009 - After a long period of standing in ruins the Troubridge Cinema has been restored to its former glory. Now Extremely Heavily barricaded and powered, survivors will once again be able to sit down and watch movies in Dulston. On that note, followers of the Survivor Saints from St. Barbara's Church have flocked to the cinema to watch Night of the Living Dead again.

January 2nd, 2009 - The cinema was still ruined, with 3 zombies camped inside watching a blank screen. Thrilling stuff people.

October 25th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon reported that Troubridge Cinema has 2 zombies left. With one of the zombies moderately wounded (40 HP left).

Update: Correction, it looks like the zombie got himself a snack because he's looking in better shape than before (52 HP).

October 24th, 2008 - SNAKEHOUND reported that the cinema had fallen and was ruined.

September 30th, 2008 - N00bert, Second-in-Command of FOXHOUND, reported he was having a laugh over at Troubridge Cinema as three zombies had been flailing their rotten limbs at him for the past 2 days without succeeding in killing him. N00bert owes his glorious success to the fact that the building was very dark, as well as, a FAK here and there. It was as simple as that really. Silly zombies.

August 28th, 2008 - The Militant Order of Barhah ruined the cinema, and while there are no survivor reports indicating when the attack took place, FOXHOUND recon reported that the building was still in this state today. Whether this lone building would serve as a launch point for the Dulston Alliance's reclamation of the suburb is still unclear.

August 20th, 2008 - Well, I guess this it. Dulston is no longer the shining beacon of survivor strength. Goodbye and good luck, as I am moving on to greener pastures. (Yay antrush!) =P 19:51, 20 August 2008 (BST)

August 10th, 2008 - I leave for a week and all hell, not just half, brakes loose. Will be back tomorrow to give a real update, even though nobody reads this... =P 00:02, 11 August 2008 (BST)

June 14th, 2008 - The last zombie was driven out of the Cinema. The building is now repaired, barricaded and powered. Enjoy the show! -- Kittithaj 14:19, 14 June 2008 (BST)

May 23rd, 2008 - A very persistent zed keeps knocking down the cades and ruining the place every other day, other than that life is peach keen. =P 00:46, 24 May 2008 (BST)

May 10th, 2008 - Back up, thanks to those who helped and are currently watching! =P 00:55, 11 May 2008 (BST)

May 8th, 2008 - The infected swarm has pked their way into the building and have ruined it. Assistance would be welcomed greatly and free moxie (soda) would be given! =P 15:16, 8 May 2008 (BST)

May 2nd, 2008 - Thanks to Meowdam the cinema is now open. "Apocalypse Now" will now be playing. =P 23:06, 2 May 2008 (BST)

May 1st, 2008 - One very persistent zombie wishes to stay, otherwise the movies would be up again. =P 15:55, 1 May 2008 (BST)

April 22nd, 2008 - Apparently a zed thought it would be "funny" to celebrate Earth day by tracking it in. Theater 1 will be open a day after the suburb is reclaimed. =P 00:54, 23 April 2008 (BST)

April 16th, 2008 - Two words, APOCALYPSE NOW... will be playing as soon as the zeds leave. (not likely to happen until The Dread stops being prejudice to life.) =P 14:19, 16 April 2008 (BST)

March 21st, 2008 - The tagging chef will be staying here for a little bit; keeping the geny running, and handing out pop corn. Well...until the group "the dead" get here; when that happens; what else can you do but....run away! Oh yeah, and all the same movies and still playing.--Jamie Cantwell3 05:56, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

February 26th, 2008 - Got it! =P 23:31, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

February 16th, 2008 - "Nrh arng, hrh grh mrh brh raz" translated "Now playing, 'The Gods Must Be Crazy'. Or it will be once the Barhah occupational force leaves... =P 01:03, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

February 3rd, 2008 - The Troubridge is still up and running, fortunately, playing that kickass Halo series Red vs. Blue.

January 16th, 2008 - Finally after weeks of no power these movies are now playing, You may notice something else about the cinema though, a recent renovation and some security measures have been put in place. All running projectors have been put in steel cages (see description ^) and the carpet in th main lobby is no longer red with brown splotches. The carpet has been replaced altogether with astro turf. More easily washed and better for bare zombie feet this new flooring has taken a year and a half to obtain. =P 19:05, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

January 15th, 2008 - Well, it took over a month since we were last tossed out by the usher, but the Alliance has finally reclaimed and secured Troubridge Cinema. Aside from the Red vs. Blue projector and Night of the Living Dead, all the reels have been swapped out for new ones. Patrons to the Troubridge can now choose between Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days Later, and all three films of the Evil Dead series. --Boris 18:36, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

December 10th, 2007 - As near as can be told the Swarm have lost their so-called grip on the Far Nor'East; Troubridge is back up, fixed, and powered, and a quick trip revealed that all three projectors have been set back up. --Boris 04:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Update: Vachon Blaze had this to say "Not so fast, don't count your chickens before they hatch, If you did take it back, you did not stay long, or was this another attempt at human propaganda?"--Vachon Blaze 21:21, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

December 4th 2007 - The Infected Swarm are having a Mel Brooks film festival all Zombies are welcome, cover charge is and arm and a leg.--Vachon Blaze 19:54, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

November 30th, 2007 - The cinema is currently ruined with 8 zombies inside. 13:45 GMT - Henry Sprout

November 15th, 2007 - Popped in to change the special, Monty Python is now up and playing. How often does Caleb check this? I'd guess once a week. Any viewers (if any) check and compare the timestamps and find out! =P 01:02, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Update: Still no word from the generous science illuminati, maybe he's on vacation... =P 23:53, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Update: Noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher responded, "Who is minding this store here, me or Unsunghero? I mostly keep to matters pertaining to Whitlock. Although, as a word of advice, Unsunghero may wish to check up more often with the Dulston Alliance these days as talks are currently in motion that may very well impact the future of his cinema. The last I heard the Burchell Arms Regulars had petitioned to have the building turned into a indoor revive point... which would mean no barricades or survivors staying here any longer. Illuminati conspiracy? Who said that? Nevermind."

November 3rd, 2007 - After retaking Trood from the Infected Swarm, a scout infiltrated Troubridge to recon how many zombies still resided inside after it was overrun two days earlier. To his suprise he discovered that not a single zombie was present. He speculated that this was possibly because the Swarm couldn't hold onto the building with their limited resources or had fled with their rout at Trood. Acting swiftly, he repaired and rebarricaded the cinema, making it safe for survivors once more.

November 1st, 2007 - We made it to this building, with the Infected Swarm swift on our heels, we had nowhere else to run so we would make our stand here. The building has been overrun and was destroyed. Maybe they did not like what was playing? I guess we will never know...

Update: Noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher made the following comment, "As with the Trood Building I can only assume that the events described were accurate. I see no real reason to deny this as fact, and yet the perspective seems a bit off when it is revealed the news was posted by none other than Vachon Blaze, a member of Infected Swarm. Perhaps he was alive and helping survivors? If so then this goes against the death cultist creed set forth by Infected Swarm. Or perhaps this was just a bit of creative journalism."

October 7th, 2007 - LOOOONNNNGGG time since last update, but I guess it doesn't matter since nobody reads this... Monthly movie is now starship troopers, just got season five of RvB, and the place has power. Enjoy! =P 01:45, 8 October 2007 (BST)

Update: When asked to comment, noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher had this to say, "Unsunghero has noted that he believes no one reads his status reports, and yet he has gone to the trouble of including them here. By definition of this contradiction we can conclude that he was therefore talking to himself, if not for the obvious fact that his comments were read by none other than yours truly, in which case his assumption was incorrect. But does that change the fact that he thought he was only talking to himself? No. Is that wrong? No. Is there a point to all of this? Always! Hmmm? What? Where?"

July 28th, 2007 - Survivors have been asked to disregard Dulston Film Preservation Society, as this group does not exist... at all. It was a group fabricated by killers eraser and eastonwood strangler, who used it as an excuse to take the biulding by force and during which they killed Unsunghero10 twice.

July 24th, 2007 - The Theatre is now being run by the Dulston Film Preservation Society. They are focused on showing classic and independent film for everyone from the casual viewer to film fanatics.

Update: Please post your name and timestamp, have a group page, and a bit of diplomacy before taking over a building with two groups already co-managing it! =P 23:25, 24 July 2007 (BST)

July 23rd, 2007 - Apparently there was a misunderstanding, D.I.T.P.S. has stated that they have never made any claim to the theater, but still someone out there is being a jerk... =P 00:46, 24 July 2007 (BST)

July 9th, 2007 - Red Rum is long gone, but zeds are slowly moving back in. For some reason D.I.T.P.S. believes they own the place. --=P 22:08, 9 July 2007 (BST)

May 23rd, 2007 - CDF recon has helped confirm that the Battle Royale is not only taking place in Dulston, but that Special Agent Mulder himself was found tucked away in Troubridge Cinema. As he has been placed in charge of the Red Rum event there can be little doubt now as to its location.

May 7th, 2007 - We've got milk! The illustrious German cow, Brunhilde D. Vollmilch, has stumbled in after a zed attack. Her description reads: A large cow who looks like it's been chewing a cud for a while. Has a scarlet vest on with the words 'Troubridge Cinema Milk' embroidered on it. Also stitched on are DA, DvB, RvD, and =P.

April 30th, 2007 - (snickers) 300 will now be plaing until May 31st. Rated R. =P

April 22nd, 2007 - The monthly special plan was erected, using dvd players in theater 1 and 2. All RvB seasons are moved to theater 3. Theater 2 will be closed unless it's a 2 part dvd or a series. =P

April 13th, 2007 - All is quiet except for the movie as the current inhabitants watch the funniest movies ever. =P

April 1st, 3007BC - Bungie studios has gone foward in time and has ascended with the forerunners to take over the world. Within 117 days the present will be destoyed and we will be spewn into the future. Hopefully they will not find the ling-ling's head or create the best game ever. This is a grim day for the race of the shisno. =P

March 13th, 2007 - The fist part of the third trial (The Ends of the World) brings the Knights of the Upper Left Corner to the Troubridge Cinema. Their mission: to watch the entire movie without popcorn, bathroom breaks and only with two drinks for the entire screening. It was almost impossible because "Gigli 2" was playing. --Trenchcoat 09:54, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Update: Unsunghero10, from Dead vs Blue, contradicted this claim stating, "I don't even know what a Gigli is and I set up the movies." Survivors from the Church of Barbara though noted that so long as Night of the Living Dead continued to play they could care less.

March 7th, 2007 - Overrun with the cowering dead watching caboose, they think of him as a masia because he trips alot.

March 2nd, 2007 - With Mall Tour '07 gone the local zeds have taken back troubridge and are currently holding hostage RvB season 4 for the time being. A rescue party is being planned as of this post.

February 26th, 2007 - A new division of the famous Dead vs Blue, calling themselves Red vs Dead, has moved into the cinema for the stay of the Mall Tour '07 apocalypse. Also now playing on a jury rigged dvd is RvB Seasons 1-4 courtesy of Unsunghero10.

February 10th, 2007 - The Shamblin' Crooners the theater, making it the eighth stop in their new SHAMBLIN' CROONERS APOCALYPSE tour. Unlike most of their venues the theater was found completely empty. Filled with angst, as they have been of late, the zombies trashed the entire cinema. It was believed though that the survivors at the theater were expecting the Shamblin' Crooners and not long after the zombies departed they returned, cleaned up, and continued watching Night of the Living Dead as if the undead rockers had never been there.

December 20th, 2006 - Ragnarok - Dulston Chapter has stepped in to declare Troubridge Cinema as one of their two main headquarters within Dulston. With the Bela Lugosi Fan Klub nothing more than a fading memory no one stood to contest their claim.

December 19th, 2006 - Ragnarok - Dulston Chapter has announced that they intend to "re-activate" the Hamerton Road revive point. Furthermore, they have stated that they consider the cemetery south of the cinema NOT to be a revive point as their group rejects the Sacred Ground Policy, meaning that any zombies found standing there are fair game.

November 15th, 2006 - Members of DORIS persist in their claims of controlling all Dulston. Taking a page straight from Conquerors 101 DORIS has instigated a policy whereby local buildings and streets throughout the suburb have been renamed by their group, in this case, the cinema is now known as the National Theater of Iraq as far as DORIS is concerned.

June 27th, 2006 - Paper flyers have been found scattered and taped around outside the doors of the cinema announcing that the building is the 2nd official waypoint for the First Annual Malton Marathon, slated to begin on Tuesday July 4th at 9:00 AM GMT. The marathon, which is open for both survivors and zombies, will start from Bird Boulevard [0,0] in Dakerstown and then have runners proceed in clockwise pattern around the outskirts of Malton. The flyer ends by stating that cash will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place winners, while a "mystery" prize will go to the 3rd place winner...

April 15th, 2006 - The Shamblin' Crooners made their usual grand entrance and entertained everyone inside with their famous "break-in & concert" style of zombie rock. Some humans were eaten. Some zombies were shot. Bottom line, everyone had fun. Rock on Crooners, rock on...

March 5th, 2006 - A recon report, dated March 4th 2006, indicates that the cold-blooded murderers from The End may have taken refuge in the old Troubridge Cinema. Survivors are warned that these cultists are to be considered extremely dangerous and will attack even when unprovoked. Therefore this area should be avoided or traversed with caution.

November 14th, 2005 - A report was made that 14 zombies from the Bela Lugosi Fan Klub were spotted outside the cinema. Any unfortunate survivors inside may wish to flee as nothing gets in the way between these "cult classic" zombies and their horror movies...
