Basic Info:

  • Office buildings owned by the company often associated with the zombie outbreak. From the outside, they are indistinguishable from other buildings, but characters with the NecroTech Employment skill are able to recognise them.
  • Among the internal descriptions found in NecroTech Buildings:
The NecroTech logo is set in the wall behind the front desk, and doors open onto powered-down computer rooms and laboratories."
  • If a generator is running inside the building:
"The NecroTech logo glows gently above the front desk, and doors open onto a number of brightly-lit laboratories and computer rooms."
  • NecroTech offices are tall enough for survivors to commit suicide from. They also provide a vantage point from which binoculars can be used.
  • Necrotech Buildings can be barricaded normally.

The NecroTech logo hangs broken above the front desk, and doors open onto a number of blood stained laboratories and computer rooms.

Description

Necrotech

The Trood Building is a NecroTech facility located in the suburb of Dulston along the very eastern edge of the Malton quarantine zone. Though a faceless corporate structure to the uninitiated, this facility works in unison with the Beale Building to collect and carefully analyze zombie social patterns through NecroNet tracking. During the "Malton Incident" some scientists hoped to determine why zombies often chose to align themselves with certain hordes, but would not stray from these initial groups even after merging with another larger horde. Of particular interest in information being transmitted from field agents observing sieges of such famous location as Caiger Mall.

It should be mentioned that, while not one of Dulston's sanctioned revive points, the cemetery (99,2) located just south of the Trood Building is considered by some survivors to be one despite the fact that the Sacred Ground Policy is not supported in Dulston. Of course due to the jaded history of cemeteries within Malton, and the violent nature of the northeast corner of Dulston, getting a revive at the cemetary requires good timing and luck.

Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, visited the Trood Building in order to help test their NecroNet tracking sensors. After seeing that they were calibrated properly he gave the operation a 'thumbs up' before departing.

Since August 2008 the Angry Vaginas have assumed control of the NT and intends to keep it ruined at all times.

Mandate

NecroTech staff continue to follow Directive 42-A, issued by the head office on January 19th 2006, with the activation and manufacture of MK-II revivification syringes. They have been charged with governing the Hamerton Road revivification zone and seeing to the restoration of life to all zombies located therein. Maintaining the zone has proved to be difficult, but as often as the staff and facility are operational, so is the revive zone.

The activation of NecroNet with all NecroTech buildings has also allowed scientists to apply the DNA tracking research they have gathered to date. Standard protocol dictates that all staff be equipped with a standard issue DNA Extractor to tag any zombies they come across during field research.

Affiliates

To date research staff at the Trood Building are working hand-in-hand with survivors located in nearby resource buildings, namely:

  1. Spicer Row PD (96,0)
  2. Anne General Hospital (96,2)
  3. Midelton Crescent PD (97,4)
  4. Weston Crescent Fire Station (95,2)

It should also be noted that, due to rotating shifts, NecroTech staff commonly move between the Trood Building and Beale Building (97,0) to the northwest.

Barricade Policy

This building must never be more than Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded. This barricade level has been set forth in the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram, a strategic barricade policy that is enforced by all member groups of the Dulston Alliance. This building's purpose is to serve as an access point for all survivors and a safehouse for inexperienced survivors who do not possess the Free Running skill. Visitors are requested to never barricade beyond Very Strongly unless the building is currently under siege from 5 or more zombies. Note that any survivors associated with the Dulston Alliance have the right to lower the barricades back to Very Strongly if they discover them raised higher without just cause.

NecroNet Reports

The following zombie tracking reports are a free service provided by the NecroTech corporation to all its staff and local survivors in order to help facilitate quicker response times when managing zombie threats and to build a greater awareness of zombie migration patterns within the 9x9 block region around the Trood Building. As a cautious reminder, only those zombies tagged with the DNA Extractor will appear on these scans, so actual numbers may vary when dealing with older zombies (i.e. Brain Rot):

Please keep in mind that the Trood Building is the blue-coloured square in the second row and last column in the 6x5 grid. Of note, Troubridge Cinema is the light grey-coloured block in the top right corner of the grid, and is considered by many to be a common location for zombies to hide. Historically zombies once associated with the now scattered Bela Lugosi Fan Klub were sometimes found watching horror movies in the empty theater rooms.

December 31st, 2008 - The NT at the edge of the Maltonverse has been retaken, barricaded, and powered by survivors. Meanwhile, a number of zombies -- sans reservations -- pound at the barricades in hope of getting some nom noms of that hoopy talking food... --WanYao 07:40, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

December 22nd, 2008 - A couple of zombies waiting for service inside the NT at the edge of the Maltonverse. --WanYao 05:12, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

December 19th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S reported that there were 2 zombies inside the Trood facility, and another outside. The building was very much ruined.

December 15th, 2008 - Espina of FOXHOUND reported, "Well, Trood is still up and hasn't been touched while at VH 'cades, nor has anyone joined me up there. So I declare Trood to be mine. All mine. I'm also slowly working on clearing out the cemetery of useful people." ...We're sure he means this is the best possible way.

December 14th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S (undead) recon reported that the facility was ruined, with 2 zombies inside, and 1 more outside.

Update: While details are sketchy, FOXHOUND reported that Trood was back up and lit up. This would imply that both zombies were evicted.

November 30th, 2008 - Major Azzhole of Metal Fox reported, "Break-in at Trood 4 hours ago it looks like. Four deadheads got in, but we're back to EHB with only one greasy little deadhead left. There were 3 casualties. Power is out for now. Not too bad though really. 'Cades were only down for 2 minutes according to the time logs, so it must have been a co-ordinated attack between those 4 deadheads."

Update: Belesar of Bounty Hunters Unltd. just whacked the last zombie.
Update: There was another break-n, with this time 6 zombies tearing their way through the barricades. There was also a report of a Mrh cow blocking efforts to re-barricade. This is the second such report issued to the Dulston Alliance for possible charter or policy review.

November 29th, 2008 - Metal Fox reported in to advise local survivors that the Trood Building was in survivor hands. Not only is the facility barricaded, but it has power too. Any and all survivors seeking syringes were welcome to come here.

November 26th, 2008 - One zombie was reported to have broken down the barricades and entered Trood.

November 16th, 2008 - This was reported as the last building still lit and operating in all Dulston. With 50+ zombies in the general area, this is viewed by some survivors Dulston's last stand.

Update: There are 18 zombies inside. Survivors are dying fast and all hope appears to be lost. In other news, "Don't worry, be happy".
Update: All dead. There are 29 zombies and 9 corpses inside. On the bright side... many scientists didn't like Trood all that much anyway. I still pine for the halcyon days of yore which I spent frolicking pumping iron in the picturesque mighty "Fortress of Science" and cannot help but wonder when it will be restored to greatness. (Comment left by Mobius) -Mobius Watch

November 2nd, 2008 - After almost 2 weeks of relative calm the Trood facility was breached by 3 zombies today, who managed to destroy the barricades and generator.

October 25th, 2008 - Yet another breach was reported, this time by Kittithaj, a freelance Dulston Alliance operative, wo reported there were 2 zombies inside the building attacking survivors.

Update: D.I.T.P.S recon reported there was still 1 zombie inside @48HP, along with one survivor. The building was Very Strongly barricaded.

October 24th, 2008 - SNAKEHOUND reported that the facility was overrun by zombies and had fallen. The report indicated there were 6 zombies inside the facility, with another 4 zombies outside.

Update: SNAKEHOUND reported that the zombies had been cleared out.

October 23rd, 2008 - Imperium recon reported that the Trood Building was holding strong in survivor hands.

October 20th, 2008 - The building was recently reported as occupied by survivors and powered. No further details appeared to be forthcoming.

October 11th, 2008 - ScouterTX of SNAKEHOUND reported that his own men, along with forces from Metal Fox had cleared it out of zombies, but it required repairs and barricades.

Update: A FOXHOUND recon unit reported barricading the facility, but not long afterwards the barricades were destroyed and the FOXHOUND member was taken out (and eaten).

October 6th, 2008 - Officer Murphy of Dead vs Blue reported that he has repaired the Trood Building (49 AP). Of course he was so tired after all that hard work that he never did get around to barricading, so if anyone wants to drop by and barricade that would be awesome.

Update: Rotten Ray of D.I.T.P.S popped by and helped re-barricade the building. The facility is now Extremely Heavily barricaded.

September 27th, 2008 - Currently held by zombies. "Small weeds and vines are beginning to grow in the dusty wreckage." --WanYao 08:50, 27 September 2008 (BST)

August 30th, 2008 - Zombies still hold the Trood Building, along with other locations around NE Dulston.

August 20th, 2008 - A large zombie seige occured yesterday, leaving the building ruined and occupies solely by zombies. --TehHeyhey 00:57, 20 August 2008 (BST)

August 15th, 2008 - Small breaches are taking place regularly at the Trood Building, but they are quickly turned back by the NTs defenders. A mob of about a dozen zombies stands outside the NT, which is currently VHB and unpowered. --WanYao 17:45, 15 August 2008 (BST)

August 8th, 2008 - Zombies have infiltrated the building again, doors wide open, 'cades are down too. All the doing of the Infected Swarm.

August 5th, 2008 - Brave survivors kept chipping away at zombies inside the building, one at a time. And finally all of them were removed and left rotting down the gutter. The Trood Building is now back in human hands once again. -- Kittithaj 14:34, 5 August 2008 (BST)

July 31st, 2008 - After many days of siege, the Trood Building fell. Now it lies ruined with about 10 zombies inside, along with Troubridge Cinema and St. Barbara's Church -- Kittithaj 15:11, 31 July 2008 (BST)

July 14th, 2008 - There were two breaches today by two different zombies, but the building still held up nicely. A local saboteur He's dead Jim spotted inside. -- Kittithaj 15:38, 14 July 2008 (BST)

March 22nd, 2008 - I saw a person talking about the trood building being down again, im out of ap and cant check can someone confirm this? Nillocnroh 04:48, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

January 10th, 2008 - The Trood Building has been ruined yet again. At this time 7 zombies from Infected Swarm are still shambling around the main lobby. General disinterest, perhaps, is the key reason why so few survivor attempts have been made so far to reclaim the building. The northeast's real-estate values just never were that great to begin with in the first place. Now Whitlock on the other hand... --Mobius187 14:26, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Trood is back up yet again, like Rocky Balboa, complete with generator and heavy 'cades. Could do with a few more tenants, though. --Boris 18:23, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
I hear the rent is really low. --Mobius187 19:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

December 20th, 2007 - Trood is currently back in survivor hands with 'cades at EHB. --Hell Kaiser 2:25, 20th December 2007 (UTC)

December 10th, 2007 - While it's been maybe three days since I had a chance to check I have no doubt that the Infected Swarm has vacated the Trood Building in the same manner as they did with the Beale Building and the Troubridge Cinema. Vachon needs to work more on results rather than propaganda. Both the Beale and the Trood are still wrecked, though, so we need to get these vital SCIENCE towers back up ASAP! --Boris 17:32, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Update: This is clearly an attempt at misinformation. My forces still hold the Trood Building and, more buildings are falling daily. --Captain Grisum 19:49, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

December 3rd, 2007 - The battle was quick and completely one sided as the Infected Swarm and others stormed in killing all that did not flee. --Vachon Blaze 12:00, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

November 16th, 2007 - The Battle for Trood continues as 20 zombies, mixed with members of Infected Swarm continue to siege the building. Survivor resistance remains strong, but their numbers continue to dwindle while the number of zombies have slowly increased. While far from "epic", by the standards set in other suburbs, the current conflict does merit some interest among locals. Noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher is reported to have stated, "I would like to wish the survivors stationed at Trood NT the best of luck, and while I have never been a fan of Trood I would certainly hate to think of loss of NecroTech property, not to mention that serious 'urinal' issue some of these zombies seem to have..."

November 3rd, 2007 - A confused rabble of survivors were camped out at St. Barbara's Church, wondering what to do after the recent fall of Trood. It was then that a lone figure, wearing bitchin' shades and a torn leather jacket splattered with blood, climbed onto the alter. He plugged in a wierd instrument, a guitar/xylophone fusion, and strumed a few notes to gain the attention of everyone in the room. He then promptly gave an inspiring speech which called for Trood to re-taken. After he was done, he climbed to the roof of the church and lept into Trood, his guns blazing. A small army of survivors followed closely behind him and within 2 minutes of intense combat, Trood was retaken and the Infected Swarm was routed. (Author's note: If Blaze can make his update like that, then so can I!).

November 1st, 2007 - Out of the fog came the Infected Swarm. We could not hold out they were to many and so we had to retreat to the Troubridge Cinema as we left we saw the building fall in to ruin.

Update: Noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher made the following comment, "While I do not doubt the events that took place here, as I'm hardly in a position to do so, I would still like clarification as to who 'we' refers to since the news item was posted by none other than Vachon Blaze, a known member of Infected Swarm. Is Vachion implying that he was among those survivors who fled to Troubridge Cinema? If so, why? If not, was he implying that Infected Swarm fled to the cinema instead? Odds are this is probably a propaganda piece by Infected Swarm."

July 11th, 2007 - I've just returned to the trood building, and it's powered with cades. The main zombie population seems to have shifted north towards the two police departments, as seen in my necronet report from trood. It's not a major threat, but should both departments fall, we would lose a vital line of supplies to The Beale Building.

June 30th, 2007 - I've just scouted out the area around the trood building today, and things aren't too bad. The power is out in both the Trood Building and The Beale Building. There were four survivors in Trood while I was there. I also managed to take a picture with my handy digital camera from the roof of the Trood Building, seen here:

Trood 06-30-07.JPG

June 28th, 2007 - The Trood building has fallen into zombie hands. Everyone is either dead, lying in the street or almost dead, lying in the building. At the moment of my departure, there were 6 survivors left, and 12 zombies inside with 9 outside. It's a sad day in Dulston when zombies can get the jump on survivors. Although, in their defence, they were sleeping.

June 27th, 2007 - The Trood building is not in the best shape, but is still standing. There are currently 10-20 survivors inside, including myself, and although the break-ins are quite frequent it has not been overrun yet. As of now, the power is out (the generator was destroyed) and there are a few wounded. In the most recent attack, residents had to resort to using syringes to combat the zombies, mostly due to the lack of ammunition and stamina. A hard lesson is always being learned here. Zombies stand back up. In other news, the status of noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher's cookies is unknown. We fear the worst. --Kikashie 04:08, 27 June 2007 (BST)

Update: Asked to comment on this new development noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, had this to say, "Dear God no! Send in the marines!"

June 20th, 2007 - A NecroNet scan issued by the ELT has shown there are 44 zombies in the northeast corner of Malton, with a majority (21) inside St. Barbara's Church. At this time a small mob of 7 zombies is attacking the barricades outside the building while Caleb Usher has declared, "They shall not eat any of my triple-fudge chocolate cookies. If the barricades are breached all science staff are ordered to eat as many as they can stuff into their mouths and then burn the rest with that canister of napalm. What? No, you can't burn zombies. They're inflammable! Actually we're all inflammable for some reason... but enough of that man, let's not forget about what's important! The cookies!"

March 14th, 2007 - The Trood Building has been overrun by zombies and ransacked! Woe to the survivor who did not make it out alive. One of the zombies identified at the scene was the aptly named psycho 8.

February 10th, 2007 - The Shamblin' Crooners returned to the Trood Building, making it the ninth stop in their new SHAMBLIN' CROONERS APOCALYPSE tour. Dulston survivors heard a lot more angst in the zombie tunes as they sang heavier music including Metal, Grunge, and of course Death Metal.

November 15th, 2006 - Members of DORIS persist in their claims of controlling all Dulston. Taking a page straight from Conquerors 101 DORIS has instigated a policy whereby local buildings and streets throughout the suburb have been renamed by their group, in this case, the NecroTech facility is now known as the Sindbad Hotel Complex and Conference Center as far as DORIS is concerned.

November 14th, 2006 - The Trood Building has had some very violent activity over the last half year, along with the Beale Building. Many feral zombies have claimed the northeast corner of Malton for their own, often breaking into the building, attacking the NecroTech staff, and destroying their equipment. The staff have since become very experienced at reclaiming and restoring the building to an operational status, but there is little security in this locale.

October 20th, 2006 - Blue Command Vic of Dead vs Blue engaged three zombies that were standing inside the Trood Building, having breached its formidable barricade defenses. After he managed to subdue two of the zombies and badly injure the third he departed hastily. Unfortunately survivors reported that he was quickly overcome with exhaustion from the fight and killed outside by a wandering feral.

May 19th, 2006 - After their initial warm welcome and success here a few weeks ago the Shamblin' Crooners made a return performance to satisfy all their fans who still hungered for more Z!ng, Z!ng. Again, the only fatalities were all good natured ones.

April 16th, 2006 - The Shamblin' Crooners made their usual grand entrance and entertained everyone inside with their famous "break-in & concert" style of zombie rock. Some humans were eaten. Some zombies were shot. Bottom line, everyone had fun. Rock on Crooners, rock on...

February 17th, 2006 - With assistance from Caleb Usher the Trood Building activated its satellite relay with the orbitting NecroTech satellite and has begun issuing NecroNet reports to local precincts. In time staff at the Trood Building hope to use the data they gather to further their existing research into zombie movement patterns.
