A mere intern in an ordinary hospital, just a few months from a medical school, I've spent some lovely days at St. Agatho's in Kinch Heights, when all of a sudden the shambling evil destroyed everything I knew.
Several years passed from that time. They were not exactly something I was trained to face. It's not about the N-virus, wandering cadavers and other insults to the medical science. It's about people and Gaussian distribution. Grotesque had become the average. Values had shifted as physical pain and malady had weakened as social determinants. It is both fascinating and intimidating to observe the ethical transmogrification within the Cage of the City.
Diary
Beginning of November -- By the moment I do the job of assistant at St. Matthew's Hospital in Dartside. If you are in need of medical attention, feel free to pay us a visit.
13:09, 5 November 2010 (UTC) -- This night I've made an ambulance run through the suburbs of Dartside and Kinch Heights, but ended up in a besieged Pole Mall. Actually, we DO need help here.
14:35, 14 November 2010 (UTC) -- A couple of times died, while protecting Pole Mall. Death fosters calm. Actually.
10:55, 20 November 2010 (UTC) -- Still dwelling near Pole Mall. Last time arrived here on a trolley of FAKs, looking for patients. I've dedicated my leisure time to practicing with my first Colt. Doctor or not, I have to defend myself.
16:36, 21 November 2010 (UTC) -- Wondering through the Kinch Heights. Though almost zed-free, center of my home suburb is heavily overbarricaded, entry point system is wrecked. No way to get to the Urban General Hospital and St. Hubertus's Hospital from central streets. That is quite regrettable.
15:20, 23 November 2010 (UTC) -- Died defending Urban General Hospital. It's pretty hot out there by now. I wish remaining survivors good luck & good night. P.S. Mrh?
16:39, 24 November 2010 (UTC) -- Having stood up, I've revived two of my fellow victims at a carpark near The Nevill Building. Those were my first undead patients. A nice feeling it is indeed - to truly return someone to life. For that I doth thank Malton despite the sufferings this city brings me.
18:38, 25 November 2010 (UTC) -- The St Hubertus's Hospital that I've made my shelter has fallen as well. It seems more and more evident, that entire suburb of Kinch Heights is finally overrun by the Shambling Horde. Too bad I didn't make it to St. Agatho's - the birthplace is also the best place to die.
10:24, 27 November 2010 (UTC) -- The flow of the Horde, of which I am now an unwilling participant, has driven me to Buttonville. I am now trying to get a revive near the Tebbett Building. I've chewed some butts of those miserable freaks, besieging the Building, but hardly I can be of any serious help to its defenders, being (un)dead myself. I wish I could be inside, breathing and healing. P.S. I've noticed that I am now moving much quicker as a corpse... It seems, I'm (oh Lord!) getting used to be dead.
21:22, 2 December 2010 (UTC) -- Don't ask me how, but now I am in North Blythville. I can hardly remember what happened after my last death, but clouded pictures of blood and gore and panorama of several city suburbs, reduced to dust, speak for themselves. Evidently my passion for Vita was powerful enough to make my corpse feel despair - and to drag it through the ruins of Malton in search of a revive. It seems, for now I am far behind the front line - at least I do hope so.
14:46, 6 December 2010 (UTC) -- ...Edgecomb. No comments.
11:21, 8 December 2010 (UTC) -- Upon revival I was going to visit Fort Creedy. I had never been to a military base, though heard a lot about them. Creedy was under the siege, so I've made some preparations before the sightseeing tour; finally I got stuck on some local police station, looking for spares, when news of the Creedy fall reached our ears.
14:29, 14 December 2010 (UTC) -- The Horde has touched the Giddings Mall which I am currently helping to protect. The current apex of the siege is battle for Morrish Building which seems to be a strategic gateway to the Mall. I'm now truly a gunslinger, though my primary and most beloved trade remains to be medicine. By this moment, however, I've already spent all my FAKs and fired all available bullets, so this far I am nothing more then cannon fodder. At least I can help to rebuild barricades - but I plan to retreat to St. Benedict's Hospital, where I could, hopefully, rest and resupply to better serve bold protectors of Giddings.
18:40, 11 January 2011 (UTC) -- Died defending Calvert Mall. No, zombies are out of it. Not even PKillers. A bounty hunter! A bounty! On MY head!! Hell on me if I ever zerged, as they claim - but who cares? I bet that no one will ever make any steps to find out truth...
17:32, 27 September 2013 (BST) -- OK, now. It was quite awhile... In summary: I've met some very nice MDK people and settled in Shyar with their permission. Shyar Cinema is a wonderfully atmospheric place, I should say, inhabited by the finest people I've ever met in Malton... though professionally I could not approve of certain recreational practices they wallow in. I helped to defend Shyar several times, but... Well, let me be straight - finally I did embrace Limbo.
- Supplemental: Just prior to my disappearance I did meet someone very special. It is her to whom I owe my resurrection, though she must be quite unaware of her own grace. Anyway, she saved me from the gloomy tides of Limbo by sudden eruption of strong reminiscences associated with her image. That surge of power must have disrupted the tormenting limbic continuum. I shall never forget that favour.
13:50, 3 October 2013 (BST): I cannot stay for too long in any given place. So, having ensured that all the needs of Shyar (except for the replenishment of the stock of infamous Bongzilla) were satisfied, I went on a stroll. Not that I had any particular plan in mind, so I was just wondering aimlessly until I've hit the Eastern City Wall. Brrrrnhr... Oups. It seems, someone took my bra!nz among the ruins of Giddings Mall... A well-deserved pause...
10:44, 17 October 2013 (BST): After making some home runs in the North-Eastern part of Malton, I've heard rumours about the gloomy fate of Fort Perryn and decided to focus on some integral purpose. After all, I'd never been to a military base longer than for a quick visit. Besides, I would not miss a chance to see and touch a real medieval fortress. So off we go!
