Suggestion description
You know that infection skill? Yeah. I don't mind it as a zombie, but as a low-level survivor it sucks the big one. You know what I mean? You get bitten by a zombie, get infected, can't get to a hospital (barricaded), die, and spend two weeks looking for a revive, or you get revived, find out you were infected, and die again 20 AP later looking for a FAK. I came up with something that won't diminish the zombies' infection skill, but make it easier on those lowly n00bs that drudge from cemetery to cemetery. Contrary to popular belief, most people don't heal you during a revive, so that criticism is pointless. The new item is called vitamin tablets. What it will do is suspend the infection for five turns or so, so a person may find a FAK or a safehouse. Now, it won't heal your HP at all, and since you only have five infection-free turns, you're still pretty much dead meat. For non low-level players, say you are in a fight or something, you've used all your FAKs healing other people, and there are no hospitals in sight. A vitamin tablet might help you get to another building. Also, to prevent multiple VT abuse, the game either won't let you use more than one for every infection, or simpler, you can only pick up one (any attempts to get more will earn a "You find a vitamin tablet, but discard it as useless" message). You could find these at a mall (duh), a hospital, or a motel or hotel. I think this will really be a useful item, and won't disrupt the balance of power between humans and zombies at all. What do you think?

Keep Votes

  1. Keep Cuz I vote for terrible suggestions. Sockem 19:39, 10 September 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. I like the principle of your idea, but it doesn't make sense. What exactly is so special about these vitamins that they can suspend your infection? Are these penacillin tablets or something? Also, most competent newbies carry a FAK with them. I know I did. If your suburb is so dangerous that you instantly die of any infection, then move to a safer place. Also, you may want to state specific percentages regarding search rates. --Hhal 12:10, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  2. Why bother? I can't see anybody intentionally searching a hotel for this, and the other sources yield... FAKs! 99% of the time, it would be just as simple (and far more effective) to just grab another FAK instead of the silly pill. If implemented, I'd expect it would be one of the first items to get check-boxed for "you discard it as useless." SIM Core Map.png Swiers 12:47, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - FAK's arn't that hard to find that we need a poor mans alternative The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talkcontribs) at 13:15 10 September 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill If you can't get in to find FAKs, how can you get in to find your vitamins?--Father Thompson 15:42, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - needless --~~~~ [Talk] 19:36, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - The best solution to your problem is to always keep at least one FAK with you at all times. That way if you wake up infected, you can heal yourself AND get rid of the infection. This suggestion over complicates things and creates an extra item that you have to find and which isn't as good (being only a temporary fix). --Uncle Bill 23:04, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - as Swiers and Boxy. -- Pavluk A! 23:36, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  8. You forgot search percentages. Also, the idea is that for newbies, it is more difficult to obtain FAK since (especially without the mall skills) the only significant location to find them is in Hospitals which are usually EHB and/or prime Zombie targets. That having been said, you need to put them in a few more locations to be of any use.--Pesatyel 02:20, 11 September 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill - Everybody's already said what I was going to say. --Sonofagun18 06:08, 11 September 2007 (BST)
  10. Kill - As above. -- John RubinT! ZG FER 09:04, 11 September 2007 (BST)

  12. Nice idea, but... well, see Pesatyel's vote. --Reaper with no name TJ! 20:04, 11 September 2007 (BST)
  13. Here's an idea. Carry a FAK on you when you die. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 21:42, 11 September 2007 (BST)
  14. How bout no - Faks arent really that hard to find. BoboTalkClown 17:25, 13 September 2007 (BST)
  15. Kill - People should just carry a FAK.-- Vista  +1  21:52, 13 September 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - Vitamins don't really work. It's a conspiracy. --Sonny Corleone RRF DORIS CRF pr0n 12:19, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam - Why aren't you carrying a FAK in the first place? Can't spare the encumbrance? Drop your third generator and your eleventh shotgun. Seriously, every single one of my survivor characters ALWAYS carries at least one FAK. The only time I use this last FAK is when I get revived but still have an infection. FAKS 2,3,4, and 5 are for healing myself and others, and curing infection while I am still alive. FAK number 1, though is strictly for patching myself up after being revived. --Steakfish 12:47, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  3. Dupe - I saw a near exact copy of this earlier, called bottled water- Wootle 16:09, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam - Because the only way a pill could do these things is if they were manufactured by Necrotech, and if they had been made by Necrotech, they'd be laden with side effects, like a third nipple or something. :P.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 19:58, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  5. Dupe - As Wootle, it's been suggested and refused before, I'm just too lazy to get the links.--Karekmaps?! 21:36, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  6. Spam - Just say no to drugs kids.--Seventythree 23:27, 10 September 2007 (BST)
  7. Spam First they've got syringes and now they're popping pills? Silly survivors.--Wooty 01:37, 11 September 2007 (BST)
  8. SPAM Cool we have pills, Ummm I like a xanax for my anxiety and a Viagra for those long nights but what happens if I sustain an erection lasting longer than 4 hours--Johnny Reb 03:26, 12 September 2007 (BST)
  9. Carry a FAK.--Vow 17:41, 22 September 2007 (BST)
