I thought I would be appropriate if someone could make a search on the UD wiki for firefox. I don't know how to do it, but it would be easy to use for when you're running around and you want to find information about the suburb you're in as opposed to opening a new window/tab and punching in a search after going to the wiki site. - Z3rochaos 00:02, 16 June 2006 (BST)
- I just added one, to bad this wiki doesn't have an api.php otherwise it'd be perfect and have an auto-suggest→LzyGenius 22:12, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Urban Dead Leaderboard
I'm the creator of the Urban Dead Leaderboard, a fairly new website that ranks UD players by xp and level. So far there are more than 300 participating characters and it's still growing. There is more information available on the website. I thought it would be best to discuss it here first before putting it up on the page.--Raeleus 15:36, 7 August 2006 (BST)
- Nice site. When I click the link it says 403 Forbidden. WTF?! --Hhal 01:17, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Automatic Commands?
I don't know if this is possible or not, but perhaps someone could create a script that continually searches or fires at a target, instead of having to click "Search Again." Or, if someone knows of one, they could direct me to it? --- Kang Jike 06:28, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

- If you're looking for an alternative, Midianian had one that I've since taken over development for. Since theres no official discussion forum for UDTool firefox extension I figured I'd ask here. Does anyone know why the UDTool extension keeps coming back with "Not Found" in the section it modifies? I dont even know what thats for.--Memoman 22:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes Actually, It's the Zombie Tracker. Go to Tools>UDTool>More Options and disable Zombie Tracker. It was something that used to exist but it's creator has since removed, it's actually been gone for a while now. Leaving it enabled will cause problems with IWitness and probably a few other things.--Karekmaps?! 22:25, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Since the sign up process for this scripts forum is broken, I will post the error here in hopes the maker sees this and fixs it and the sign up problem on the forum aswell.

UDWeather Netvibes module
Hello there. I have created a module for Netvibes (based on UWA, shall be compatible with other widget platforms (works for iGoogle, hadn't tested others)) . It polls Suburb infos from UDBrain data and display them (zombie count/barricade or barricade/zombie count) under the form of a colored table. Even if it is still being tweaked it is advanced enough for a beta launch. You can install it and take a peek here : UD Weather Netvibes EcoSystem Page More infos here : UD Weather HomePage --Gambini 13:36, 3 April 2008 (BST)
- I'd like to see some indication in the color codes of how old the data is. Maybe decrease the color saturation / brightness the older it is? I'd also caution against doing something like assessing suburb danger levels mathematically based on UDbrain info, as the suburb danger levels take things besiders simple numbers into account, and the UDbrain numbers can be WRONG, because they can be out of date / no longer accurate to current events, because no submissions have ever been made for certain blocks, or because people can intentionally hack submissions. Swiers 17:15, 7 May 2008 (BST)
- 1) Age of color displayed : Such feature was on the mental todo list until i found out that it was rather "unobvious" to find out a simple color code that would make sense just in a glance. I am concerned that declining the brightness of such color code might bring more confusion than information (X level of elderness times the 8 colors). Anyway, note taken, i'll try to find out something (darker when more than a day)
- 2) Computation : I do agree with you : Live data is the Key. If we want udbrain more accurate, we need to make it sexier, therefore the widget. Let's think virtuous circle :) My feeling about the wiki computation of suburbs dangerness (and correct me if i am wrong) is that such computation is more or less based on a few users testimonies mixed with a wet finger in the wind. The widget does not pretend to replace such wiki reports (my algorythms are waaay still to be tweaked, udbrain wanted to add ransacked status, etc) but at least it present some data. Again, maybe adding a time ponderation on the values might make sense.--Gambini 17:30, 19 May 2008 (BST)

I have this script, but I want it to show all buildings not just specific ones. I was looking at the code, even though I know very little about javascript, and saw that it seems to have a database of all building types, locations and proper colors already encoded. Naming of the Dead?
I've seen posts over at the bounty collection agency (here, here and here, for instance) that show the names of the dead.
- What tool does that?
- I seem to recall seeing elsewhere (can't find it now) that it might also provide the names of any zombies present?
- If so, would that -- or any other tool -- allow me to select some zombie that isn't the top-most for attack of revivification?
- Finally, the last image above has little super-script letters above the names of other players present. What do those mean, and what tool provides it?
FWIW, I've running udtool 0.7.1 and as far as I can tell it only colorizes the names of other players present when I've loaded them into it's config files. Is there anyway of getting the list of currently active PKers in text form? I know that's a lot, but thanks for any help. --Lariat2301 13:07, 6 August 2009 (BST)
- You add them to your contact list. --ϑϑℜ 13:16, 6 August 2009 (BST)
- Okay -- and tested: that leaves only the fourth question. (I've never done anything with contacts, which explains why I hadn't even noticed anything.) I was getting strange results trying to do a DNA Extraction on an unnamed zombie when I had named (and de-selected with the DNA Extraction tool) another zombie. It kept giving me back the already-named zombie, as if I hadn't selected "zombie" in the list. But I'll have to do more testing before I complain. Thanks. --Lariat2301 06:50, 7 August 2009 (BST)
- I'm sorry but I can't answer your fourth question. I've seen the plugin before but never chosen to follow it up. I suggest asking around, someone is sure to have it. --ϑϑℜ 12:04, 7 August 2009 (BST)
- It looks like it's Midianian's UDPL, as Dazaras said. Midianian stopped developing it for now, but it should still be working just fine. If it's not for some reason, let me know and I'll take a look at it since I'm managing his scripts for him these days. —Aichon— 08:13, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

- Having a character in your contact list allows you to recognize them whether they are a zombie or a dead body. The Firefox addon UDWidget also tells you the names of zombies when a link to their profile page is available, such as when they attack you or kill someone else in the room. As far as I know, there isn't any way to select a zombie that isn't on the top of the pile unless you have the zombie who you want to select in your contacts. The superscript letters are links to the characters Rogues Gallery page and a + or - to add or remove them from your contacts, those come from the Greasemonkey script called "Urban Dead Profile Links". I hope that helps. --Dazaras 00:00, 7 September 2009 (BST)
- Edit: you can find a UD tool list of the current active PKers here at the Rogues Gallery. Just click on the button titled "UD Tool list". --Dazaras 00:04, 7 September 2009 (BST)
- There is, kinda, you just need the profile links. However if you don't know they're there that's the issue, and with zombie stacks ou need them on your contacts list to be able to tell them apart, you could theoretically rotate contacts but that's a little extreme and at 100 contacts per load even automated you'd still be requiring over 1614 IP hits unless you could somehow sort actives and inactives and that's per building. So, long answer short; Nope, no practical way other than well maintained zombie lists and group scouting. --Karekmaps?! 20:18, 11 September 2009 (BST)

- Voting to oust unfunny is one thing...voting to allow new entries. I dunno. Humor is so subjective. I'd suggest that once you have the humor pages cleaned up, you hold a GSGM-esque cleanup once every 6 to 8 months to vote on anything new. You're more likely to get several people interested in voting that way than if voting had to occur every time a new entry was added. ~ 02:46, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

new entries
Then everything under the new stuff header gets voted on every so often? What passes the vote makes it onto the page and what doesn't is deleted. That makes it visible and easy to see. 03:07, 24 October 2011 (BST)

- GSGM was a bad example. Mazu's example above is pretty close to what I was suggesting, though. My point is that it seems to me that, considering current wiki activity levels, it may be more apt to have a semi-frequent and publicized voting event rather than relyimg on people to keep up with newly added material and voting timelines. ~ 04:02, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

Rather than waste a whole load of time trying to test every one, I was wondering if I could get confirmation on which have been tested and/or are being used and are working? (Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I figured Needs Cleaning was a relevant topic) Thankyou! --SufferingBob 03:57, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- That depends on which version of Firefox you are using. If you're using v3.6.5 or older, every Greasemonkey script and add-on are pretty much guaranteed to work. If you're using any version newer than 3.6.5, expect quite a few of the scripts and add-ons to be broken. Which ones, we don't really know. We never quite got to testing these in newer versions of Firefox yet... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 04:06, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- Cheers Axe Hack. Using v3.6.16 but FF has been bugging me for ages to update. I'll update then install the ones I want. I'll add here if I find any to be broken or missing. Thanks again for the quick reply. --SufferingBob 04:24, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I checked out the external links and, as promised, most of the Firefox stuff on the Main Page.
- Here are the results: the Combat Calculator is 404. The Encumbrance Calculator is ok and works. Anything related to Iwitness is dead and long gone - not even zombiefied. The Zombie Portal was 403. UDRecon seems to be working fine, but as to how up-to-date it is, I couldn't tell you. The Revivification Request Interface is up and working. The UDPOI is up. The Dumbwitness link appears to work fine. UDWitness appears to be up and running! (huzzah!).
- I installed the following into FF v3.6.16 - UDBrain, UDTool, UDToolbar, Urban Dead Centered Map and udWidget. UDToolbar and Urban Dead Centered Map had to be edited to allow for the current version and UD Centered Map also required a boolean added in about:config to allow for unsecured update checks.
- UDBrain appears to be working, but was giving me false barrier information (i.e. said a building was at VSB when it was, in fact, wide open). UDTool appears to be working - but, as I don't have Diagnosis or Scent Blood the HP colouring won't work for me anyway. Also my inventory is empty, so I can't tell if the inventory combiner is functioning correctly. udWidget works, mostly - iWitness is 404 so that part doesn't work; The walking map is good and profile options appear to work. UDToolbar is mostly useless - NONE of the graphics or map options work; The city map button links to a 404. So, basically it's good for accessing the DEM revive list, the Rogue's Gallery and the wiki. But my bookmarks sidebar can do that. The UD Centered Map is completely broken.
- The Greasemonkey scripts I installed were UD Barrista, UD Map Links and the Ray3k Map Graphics and Internal Map scripts. I also tested the UD Map AP Recovery Time Indicator and UD Building State Colorizer. The building state colourizer in Barrista was broken, but the UD Building State Colorizer works fine as a substitute. ALL OTHER SCRITS WORKED PERFECTLY. The Map Graphics are very nice, as is the Internal Map interface.
- So, it seems most add-ons are useless or broken and most Greasemonkey scripts work fine. Cheers --SufferingBob 13:48, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- Awesome. FYI, UDBrain doesn't give false information. It gives the latest information. See, its barricade database only updates when someone using UDBrain walks onto the square. So really, its not false information. Its the latest information, which is usually outdated. As for bugs in Barrista, please contact User:Aichon about it as it is a script he hosts. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:14, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- Sooo...will any of this be updated on the Main Page? At the very least the 404 links should be removed or noted as being dead. Good point about UDBrain. Interestingly the Ray3k Map Graphics Greasemonkey script seems to be showing correct information regarding barricade statuses - I'm not sure where it's getting its info from though! I'll let User:Aichon know about Barrista (could just be my version of FF though)EDIT: My mistake about Barrista, it's actually fully functional! O! --SufferingBob 01:20, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
- Just to clarify in case anyone else is curious, Barrista is not meant to colorize your text. It simply uses the same colors as UD Building Status Colorizer when it chooses a color for the barricade button it has. Also, all of my scripts are still working and accessible, and will be for the foreseeable future, since I have no plans to let my domain expire at this time. —Aichon— 01:26, 2 July 2012 (BST)

UDBrain add-on
Since Alloscomp no longer seems active on this, I'm posting here in hopes of somebody being able to fix. I've noticed some buildings do not update their status no matter how many times I refresh the page. My most recently discovered building is Beauchamp Bank. The cades are are reported as Closed, but they are not. Also when inside, the cades are not displayed under the building name. Ideas anyone? --Klexur 18:14, 20 June 2012 (BST)
- UDBrain hasn't been updated to incorporate the darks. UDBrain ceased updates long before darks were introduced. If a dark is dark and unlit, it will break UDBrain. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 17:56, 20 June 2012 (BST)
All day I haven't been able to connect to the website. Anyone else notice or have better luck? --Klexur 08:52, 30 June 2012 (BST)
- No luck. Guess the host has cut it. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION (TALK | CONTRIBS) 12:05, 1 July 2012 (BST)
- I'd give it a day before we call it closed. From what I heard, a number of web servers, systems, and programs choked on the leap second that happened in the last day, including a few big names (e.g. Firefox, Linux, etc.). It's possible this is just a case of that. —Aichon— 01:01, 2 July 2012 (BST)
- This is not good news. And I recently updated the add-on too. =[ If it doesn't come back, are there any good alternatives? --Klexur 04:53, 2 July 2012 (BST)

Cleaned
The page was...Well. It seemed pretty ugly with all the strikeouts, so I removed them all. If anything, I'm all for creating a page to list all scripts and tools and stuff that no longer works. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 04:35, 27 August 2012 (BST)
Question(UDWidget)
Do anyone know which script does this - http://iamscott.net/1304465886735.html (the part where they show the zombie's name). Many thanks in advance. --CR 12:18, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
- udWidget, although the 'zombie names' feature broke after an update (possibly the font change on profiles). --BOSCH 14:24, 26 July 2013 (BST)
- Aw I really wanted to use it. Did have a strong feeling that it was broken though, that's too bad. Thanks for letting me know Bosch. --CR 14:10, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hrrm. Morti and I fixed it once – might have to fix it again? ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾᚨᚾᛏ 07:23, 28 July 2013 (BST)
- Hi Rev, has it been fixed? Is it a modified version? So far I've only seen the official version and I'm not sure if it works, haven't got the chance to test it yet. I did see something on barhah.com but the links were dead. --CR 22:16, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
- I'd take a run at the script if I still had any of the versions of it but apparently the maps subdomain wasn't in my old .info back up. I have all of the files no database and no udwidget. Such a shame but at least most all of that stuff was outsourced before anyway. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 06:36, 1 August 2013 (BST)
- Aaaaand about now I notice you linked the old repository and that's awesome, though most of that code will be a few commits out of date. And by a few I mean started having issues in '08. But maybe I'll be able to find Rev's '08 fix if I decide to take some time on barhah or sanitarium.zgarah.com since I'm pretty sure those were also linked there. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 06:42, 1 August 2013 (BST)

- The specific fixed file, which is now part of a public repository so we don't have to deal with this losing the codebase nonsense anymore. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 09:01, 1 August 2013 (BST)
- Also two notes: I have not tested it as I have no means, and the repository is basically the firefox XPI split open, someone else will have to repackage it into that form for ease of upload. Here's a link for how to replace it the dirty way, though nothing else in that thread is current. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 09:06, 1 August 2013 (BST)

- Release 1.4.1, or that's what I'm calling it. Includes an XPI file which should be all you need to install yourself some bugfixed udwidget. You can also download the XPI directly with this link. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 05:00, 7 August 2013 (BST)
disgustingly outdated
