:Cheers Karek, most appreciated :) That was interesting, I've never seen that mobile checker before. There are some guidelines there that won't be followed, like using GIF instead or PNG, or conforming to a mobile DTD or schema - this is really not intended for mobiles, I just want not to be gratuitously hostile to them. Some reported kinks are easily fixed, and I shall soon as I get some time. Others, though, like bloody Phusion Passenger refusing to serve cache-control and charset for static files... sigh, now *those* I really want to fix, I just don't know how :/ One of these days I'll just byte the bullet and dive in Passenger's source code, figure this out.

== Signature is broken ==
Hey, the wiki did an update or something, and now your signature is clearly broken, with a character that used to be there having been replaced with "â—†". Unfortunately, I don't recall what it was before (was it hearts? I think it was hearts, but I'm not sure). Could you fix it and then update the list at the link I provided? Right now we have "â—†" marked as an unknown character, but it looks like you aren't the only one who's used the character, so finding out what it is will allow us to fix some other pages as well. 23:23, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

:::Anyway, you're very welcome. Once I realized you had been affected and that I didn't know what the character was, I knew that contacting you would be the quickest way to a solution. == DSS Satellite Phone Disabled In Chrome ==
Hello Sophie (or Hashk, I'm not sure). First, thank you for your work on the DSS Satellite Phone. People like you keep people like me playing, even now.
Chrome's disabled the Phone because it's not listed on their Chrome Web Store. Security concerns and stuff. All extensions not listed on their Store gets forcibly disabled, and there's no way to re-enable it (at least not on the Windows beta/stable versions).
If you're still involved in UD, could you please put it up on the Store? Thanks a lot!
Jorann Scarper 05:27, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
:Hey :) | |||
:Sophie is fine, most people know me as Soph here. Just my wiki user name is Hashk, for reasons. And my name is Val, actually, but really, call me anything you want :D
:Cheers for the heads up. Yup, had to fix my Pardus extensions already, forgot about the satphone... man this thing is old >.<
:I'm not really active in UD, but I still maintain my stuff. So, new version on the Chrome store now. Just tell Chrome to update your extensions, it'll pick up the new one (V5.2), which you can enable again. Or, go to the satphone page on the Chrome store and install from there. It should upgrade in place, no need to re-enter your PINs. Let me know if you have problems. -- 08:26, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
::As a quick side note, it's possible to get around these restrictions by installing Tampermonkey, in case a user has userscripts that haven't been placed on the Web Store. For instance, I'm not currently planning to put any of mine up on the Web Store, so Tampermonkey will likely be the only supported means of using my userscripts with Chrome, going forward. 14:06, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
:Thanks Sophie. Good to know UD isn't going away anytime soon :D Jorann Scarper 03:40, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
== DSS Sat Phone and UDICOS ==
Someone just let me know that if UDICOS executes after the sat phone in Firefox (and presumably other browsers?), the Sat Phone doesn't work. Users can tell this is happening if the sat phone shows up in the "Unknown" section of UDICOS, instead of in the "Others" section where it should be. So yeah, one more note to add about compatibility between our scripts. Sorry for the hassle. 14:31, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
:...just noticed that you were already on top of things years ago. I'll clue the user in. Sorry for the unnecessary bother, and I'll see you around in that other game. ;) 14:35, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
::Hey Aichon :) Sorry for the delay, I got the notification from the wiki, but I was busy and then I forgot >.<
::Yup, that's a known issue. I'm not positive now, cause it's been a while since I looked into that code, but I think it goes something like this: Satphone adds its button to the page, with a "click" event handler to open the phone etc. But then UDICOS comes along and removes all the inventory buttons, and then recreates them in its organised layout. This works fine for all UD buttons, of course, because UDICOS clones the original elements with all their attributes; but Satphone's event handler is not an HTML attribute, so it's lost, and the new "Satellite Phone" button ends up being a simple refresh button with no special function.
::In order to fix this, I think UDICOS should be modified so that it keeps the elements it removes from the document, and reinserts those same elements, rather than creating clones. Then Satphone's handler would remain attached to its button and everything should work fine.
::However, it really is not much trouble to just make sure Satphone runs after UDICOS... so I never tried implementing such a fix and sending you a diff :") -- 01:28, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
:::Yeah, it's one of those things that's generally a non-issue, and since I tend to only really scratch my own itches, I doubt I'll be working on a fix for it, especially if it involves any sort of fundamental change to code that's not mine. ;) 03:23, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
::::Okay, someone pestered me about it since apparently the Chrome sat phone extension couldn't be rigged up to execute after UDICOS (at least, that's what they say, and they're a technically savvy userscript author). Anyway, I went ahead and implemented the fix you described. While I was at it, I went ahead and tossed in a "Special" section that shows up in UDICOS if the user has both installed. So, now, if sat phone executes first, UDICOS grabs it, keeps it from being remade, and then puts it in a Special section. If UDICOS executes first, sat phone works just like it always has. Hopefully this will finally put the issue to bed, once and for all, and neither of us will keep getting bothered about it. :P
::::Also, you still playing that other game? Hadn't seen you around recently. 03:51, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
== DSS Sat Phone== | |||
Hi ! I'm having an issue with this. It was working fine and all of the sudden I can't get a "signal". Only flashes trying to retrieve msgs. I do run scripts, Aichon's, but even when I shut them down it doesn't change anything. - Yvw Bosch, cheers :) --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 22:16, 28 June 2012 (BST)
- Nevermind, fixed! Thanks, Hashk! <3 --BOSCH 22:02, 28 June 2012 (BST)
81% MobileOK is actually not bad, not bad at all. That'll contain the few things you can improve upon for mobile support. Also XHTML passed and a full list of w3c validator tools which should help you with future such checks. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 03:34, 29 June 2012 (BST)
- Cheers Karek, most appreciated :) That was interesting, I've never seen that mobile checker before.
- ...but I'm ranting now, sorry :") Thank you :) --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 01:37, 2 July 2012 (BST)

Paynterton DSS Map inaccuracy
Hullo! A friend of mine noticed a map error, it seems that Faulkner Avenue School and the Maxwell Museum in Paynterton are the wrong way around (from what he's told me). Cheers! --BOSCH 18:36, 9 October 2012 (BST)
Hey Soph
I roll under a new name now, but you knew me as George Zip years ago. Are you still active here? I wanted to talk with someone about the state of the game, and I don't know of anyone better than you for the job. -VanVeen 00:37, 30 July 2013 (BST)
Signature is broken
Hey, the wiki did an update or something, and now your signature is clearly broken, with a character that used to be there having been replaced with "â—†". Unfortunately, I don't recall what it was before (was it hearts? I think it was hearts, but I'm not sure). Could you fix it and then update the list at the link I provided? Right now we have "â—†" marked as an unknown character, but it looks like you aren't the only one who's used the character, so finding out what it is will allow us to fix some other pages as well. —Aichon— 23:23, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hey Aichon! It's been a while huh >.<
- Sig should be fixed now. It was the "black diamond" actually, U+25C6, ◆

- Also fixed Kempy and Zipo's, just now. I'm sure they won't mind my meddling :") I dunno who else could be using this codepoint... --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 23:47, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- Come to think of it, yeah, it has been awhile, hmm...
- Anyway, you're very welcome. Once I realized you had been affected and that I didn't know what the character was, I knew that contacting you would be the quickest way to a solution. And thank you for getting those other sigs. I hadn't seen those ones yet, and I'm sure they won't mind. We'll be finding these sorts of misplaced characters for years to come, I'm afraid. —Aichon— 00:03, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

- I never thought people would still be playing >.< Yup, okies I'll login asap, this weekend if I can. I'm just not sure I can stay, though :( It's, life is a bit busy right now, I'm swamped in work - see there's only one game I play now, and I'm having trouble keeping up with that alone, so UD may be a bit too much for me :( Plus, well, I expect the reasons why UD became no fun for me haven't really changed...
- ... buut enough with the excuses haha, I'll try my best, promise :")
- The Scot... lulz yes, only if absolutely necessary :D
- I don't see him much any more, tbh :( He kind of got super busy, too. But I can reach him, so I'll point him here :) --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 22:29, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
DSS Satellite Phone Disabled In Chrome
- Hey :)
- Sophie is fine, most people know me as Soph here. Just my wiki user name is Hashk, for reasons. And my name is Val, actually, but really, call me anything you want :D
- Cheers for the heads up. Yup, had to fix my Pardus extensions already, forgot about the satphone... man this thing is old >.<
- I'm not really active in UD, but I still maintain my stuff. --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 08:26, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- As a quick side note, it's possible to get around these restrictions by installing Tampermonkey, in case a user has userscripts that haven't been placed on the Web Store. For instance, I'm not currently planning to put any of mine up on the Web Store, so Tampermonkey will likely be the only supported means of using my userscripts with Chrome, going forward. —Aichon— 14:06, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Sophie. Good to know UD isn't going away anytime soon :D Jorann Scarper 03:40, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
DSS Sat Phone and UDICOS
Someone just let me know that if UDICOS executes after the sat phone in Firefox (and presumably other browsers?), the Sat Phone doesn't work. Users can tell this is happening if the sat phone shows up in the "Unknown" section of UDICOS, instead of in the "Others" section where it should be. So yeah, one more note to add about compatibility between our scripts. Sorry for the hassle. —Aichon— 14:31, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- ...just noticed that you were already on top of things years ago. I'll clue the user in. Sorry for the unnecessary bother, and I'll see you around in that other game. ;) —Aichon— 14:35, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hey Aichon :) Sorry for the delay, I got the notification from the wiki, but I was busy and then I forgot >.<
- Yup, that's a known issue.
- In order to fix this, I think UDICOS should be modified so that it keeps the elements it removes from the document, and reinserts those same elements, rather than creating clones. Then Satphone's handler would remain attached to its button and everything should work fine.
- However, it really is not much trouble to just make sure Satphone runs after UDICOS... so I never tried implementing such a fix and sending you a diff :") --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 01:28, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's one of those things that's generally a non-issue, and since I tend to only really scratch my own itches, I doubt I'll be working on a fix for it, especially if it involves any sort of fundamental change to code that's not mine. ;) —Aichon— 03:23, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, someone pestered me about it since apparently the Chrome sat phone extension couldn't be rigged up to execute after UDICOS (at least, that's what they say, and they're a technically savvy userscript author). :P
- Also, you still playing that other game? Hadn't seen you around recently. —Aichon— 03:51, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

DSS Sat Phone
Hi ! I'm having an issue with this. It was working fine and all of the sudden I can't get a "signal". Only flashes trying to retrieve msgs. I do run scripts, Aichon's, but even when I shut them down it doesn't change anything. (he directed me to you btw :) ) Any ideas what the problem could be ? --Murderess (talk) 02:17, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
Broken download link for satellite phone
The Firefox greasmonkey script 404's on the dropbox page. Can it be rehosted?
EDIT: I was able to find a link elsewhere on the wiki to a copy hosted directly on dssrzs.org so I went ahead and updated it.

DSS map/sat phone
Hey, I left a message on the sat phone talk page before I realised this might be a better place to do it. The DSS map isn't working properly at the moment (it's fine until you click on a block), and the sat phone won't load. stelar (talk) 20:11, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
