20090227 0% Encumbrance for GPS Unit
Explodey 00:29, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Suggestion type
Item change.
Suggestion scope
Survivors.
Suggestion description
At the moment the GPS Unit is useless to experienced players, because they know that you can get your current coordinates by looking at the HTML source of the map page and figuring out the "missing" coordinates in the 3x3 mini-map.
This is not fun
In any game, but especially MMORPGs, tasks that are not fun should not give any advantage. This does give an advantage, albeit a small one (makes room for one more shotgun shell, or FAK, or needle, in your inventory.)
Rather than making the GPS unit free as has previously been suggested, under this suggestion you would still have to search for it, but only once, and it would not then affect your ability to carry other items.
The ability to carry more than one GPS would also be removed (as for trees) because there is no advantage in having more than one (with or without this encumbrance change.)

Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - It's only 2%, for fucks sake. If you want it easy, you carry one. If you can tolerate the not-fun-ness, then you can look at the HTML code. --Midianian¦T¦DS¦SP¦ 01:10, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
