Danversbank Barricade Plan

*Danversbank Barricade Plan:  DBP
About
The original plan was created by Okrin of the Holy Aura Militia on 29 March 2006, it has since been replaced.

*Very Strong Barricades:  VS.  These barricades can be crossed by all citizens.
The current plan, active since March 2007, is sponsored by the DRRP and the Danversbank Armed Militia.

*Extremely Heavy barricades:  EH.  These barricades can be crossed only by those citizens with Free Running.

Tags:

*(VS) tag:  Indicates the building should be at a VS level of fortification.

*(EH) tag:  Indicates the building should be at an EH level of fortification.

*(EHG) tag:  Indicates the building should be at an EH level of fortification only when a generator is present.

*Asterisk (*) on tag:  Indicates that the building is at the upgraded level of protection only when the suburb is considered "dangerous."

How to Live with the DBP
Citizens without Free Running:  Ordinary citizens without Free Running should take shelter in a Very Strongly barricaded building when sleeping.  There are several in each quadrant of the suburb, so you should never be too far away from safety.

*Do NOT take shelter in a resource building (hospital, police department, fire department;  schools and pubs are also discouraged) if you can at all avoid it.  Resource buildings are high priority targets for zombie raiders and you will be endangering yourself and the community if you stay there.

Citizens with Free Running:  Citizens with freerunning are highly encouraged to make use of some of our Extremely Heavily fortified buildings when resting.  These structures provide a great deal of safety.

Vandalism and Building Permits:  Do not tear down existing barricades except as noted in Phase I below, or when the barricade has been brought out of standards with the DBP.  Do not construct barricades except in accordance with the DBP.  Overbarricading is a serious problem that can leave your fellow survivors stranded outside.

*EXCEPTION:  If you are attacked by zombies while in Danversbank, you are authorized to fortify your immediate position to protect lives and property.  Please either tear down your temporary fortifications and/or notify either the Danversbank Armed Militia or the DRRP before leaving the area.  Thank you for your compliance.

*Please try to respect existing tag suffixes.  It is fine to re-tag a building, just be sure to copy over the old tag suffix.  This makes life much easier for construction patrols.

Basic Construction Protocols
The DBP is a variant of the Uniform Barricading Policy.  It conforms to the UBP in most regards.

Very Strong Fortifications:  All buildings in the suburb will be barricaded at Very Strong +2 EXCEPT as outlined here.
*TAG:  (VS)

Suicide Prevention Protocol:  All buildings designated as "Towers," "Buildings," or "Hotels" will be barricaded at EH.

*While this makes a few buildings inaccessible, this protocol deters distraught citizens from throwing themselves from windows and adding to the zombie problem.
*It also provides many hardened safe houses for day to day living.
*TAG:  (EH)

Generator Protoction Protocol:  All resource buildings with a generator present will be barricaded at EH.  This makes it harder to sabotage of valuable generators.

*If refueling is needed, designated shoppers with free running will obtain new supplies;  the EH barricades will stay in place as long as the generator is intact, regardless of fuel status.
*If a generator is not present, VH levels will be maintained to allow common access to the facilities.
*Exception:  At the "relatively safe" and "potentially dangerous" status levels, powered hospitals may be maintained at VS.  This allows all citizens to seek efficient medical treatment when the suburb is relatively secure.  If the suburb condition is downgraded to "Dangerous," then powered hospitals will be barricaded at EH to safeguard generators and medical personnel who are needed to heal experienced defenders.
*TAG:  (EHG)

Extremely Heavy (optional):  The following buildings have been designated as "hard safe houses" and may be barricaded at EH levels -- at the discretion of the occupants given local conditions -- in addition to buildings noted in the Suicide Prevention Protocol:

*Chancellor Place Railway Station (79, 95) - SE

*The Hibbert Museum (76, 97) - SE

*The Coy Museum (73, 96) - SW

*The Poulet Museum (74, 96) - SW

*Kirkland Cinema (70, 98) - SW

*TAG:  (EH)

Emergency Extremely Heavy:  The following buildings will be added to the "hard safe house" list and barricaded at EH levels if the Danversburg safety level is downgraded to "Dangerous" or worse.  This provides additional shelter for experienced defenders as well as providing more hard targets for zombies to waste APs on.

*Percival Street Fire Station (77, 92) - NE

*Athay Crescent Fire Station (71, 93) - NW

*The Denney Arms (79, 93) - NE

*Mohrinck Cinema (77, 97) - SE

*TAG:  (EH*)

Implementation
Implementation of the DBP will occur in several phases.

*Phase I: All EH barricades except those noted in the protocols above will be reduced to VS.  This allows citizens to access important resources.

*Phase II:  All buildings in Danversbank will be brought to at least a VS level, ensuring adequete shelter for all citizens.

*Phase III:  All buildings designated in the above protocols for EH levels will be barricaded by construction experts.

*Phase IV: Regular maintaince and patrols of the barricades begin, and the DBP will be implemented.

Maintenance
*Organized militia groups in the area, including the Danversbank Armed Militia and the DRRP, will bear primary responsibility for maintaining the DBP. Independent construction experts who wish to aid in this endeavor should check in with these groups for any recent updates.

*The Emergency Extremely Heavy protocol may be implemented at any time at the discretion of local construction experts.

*Tags for buildings should have a (VH), (EH), (EHG), or potentially a (EH* or EHG*) at the end of them to indicate the preferred status for a building.  For example, if tagging the Appelby Building, one should write:  "John Wayne movies RULE! (EH)"  The tag abbreviations are listed above.

Map
I'm visually oriented. ;) I believe this is acurate based on your description above, with the exception of the allowance for generators, since there is no way to know at any one time with complete certainty which buildings currently have a generator. If there are certain buildings which you intend to have a gnerator which should be regularly designated EHB you should indicate that. Also, does that allowance include hospitals, PD's and such resource buildings, which are all likely to have a generator? --Gilant talk|DEM 21:20, 5 June 2006 (BST)

This is the Barricade Plan for the suburb of Danversbank.

This diagram shows what levels buildings should ideally be barricaded to in order to provide protection in the form of Extremely Heavily Barricaded buildings, whilst designating entry points in the form of Very Strongly Barricaded buildings. Please note this plan indicates the preferred levels of barricades, and not the current levels.

If you wish to discuss alterations to this plan, please use the talk page.

If you need to edit the barricade plan, go to Template:Danversbank Barricade Plan. If changes are made, please be sure to also edit the Barricade Policy section of the page for any buildings affected.

To include the barricade plan on a page use:
