I'm a volunteer helping to do some janitorial work on the suburb pages of the wiki. As part of that, we're double-checking in which suburbs each group is active. Currently, you're listed in one or more suburbs, in addition to using a radio frequency. If you would like to continue being listed, then please respond within the next month with the radio frequency you are using and a list of every suburb where you are currently active. If we don't hear back from you or we can't get the information we need, we'll be removing you from the lists, but you're welcome to re-add yourself later. If you have any questions, feel free to visit our informational page. Thanks. {{User:RadicalWhig/sig}} 13:10, 25 October 2013 (BST)

Still active?

The old group description from the suburb wiki

Seeing as I pared the entry down, here is the old version... for posterity, for nostalgia, for vendattas against over-zealous wiki editors, or whatever... :)

Old Arkham is home to the Reformed Old Arkham Republic, a survivor group dedicated to the support of survivors and the elimination of zombies and PKers within the bounds of the suburb. The ROAR is foremost in maintaining the electrical generators supporting the hospitals and the phone mast for the suburb.

Reformed Old Arkham Republic was previously known as Old Arkham Republic. We are the same great group of people and hope to help recruit many new members to the ranks of the suburb's oldest group. If you are interested in joining up please go to the ROAR forum.

PKing is not tolerated by Reformed Old Arkham Republic, and the only recognized PK list is the one maintained on the DEM Rogues Gallery. Anyone killing another survivor not listed on the PK list will be dealt with harshly. If you are attacked, save a screen shot and the profile of the attacker, and report it to either the DEM Rogues Gallery, or on the ROAR forums. When collecting a bounty, use the "speak" function to link to the pertinent list, to avoid confusion.

The Reformed Old Arkham Republic welcomes cooperation with other survivor groups. We only ask that they respect our standing as the oldest and largest survivor organization in the suburb (ROAR only allows human survivors to be a part of the group; no zed members, therefore the largest survivor group in Old Arkham), and apprise us, via our forum or wiki page, of any operations in the suburb, to minimize conflict and avoid duplication of effort. ROAR has never claimed ownership of any part of Malton but has made Old Arkham its home- in perpetuity. Please respect our recruiting graffiti.

Malton Confederacy

We have, since our inception as the Tompson Mall Irregulars, run routine patrols in Old Arkham as our streets were clean of zombies and yours were full. This has since changed, yet it is still a noted hunting ground. Our blanket defence of the surrounding areas is something survivors have come to expect, we are a wall of resistance to some of the smaller corner suburbs.

Whilst our protectorate status over the immediate surrounding suburbs in no means incurs or has intent to incur offence to anyone, the fact apart from Caiger Mall Survivors (who have forced independant survivor groups to work under their flag if they want revives, unlike the confederacy which will treat all survivors equally regardless and let individuals join them rather than forced recruiting) the Malton Confederacy is a voluntary organisation, not to mention the largest non-press ganged survivor group and has got your back should be a compliment.

That being said, it is also of note that quite a few of the older and more respected members of our group call Old Arkham home. The Malton Confederacy is not a press gang, as I mentioned above. It is merely a website, forum, IRC channel and support network of survivors to unify and mobilise our resistance in an effective and communal manner.

It is not about power or ego, those things have no place in survival. Thus, if you feel we may be treading on toes, I assure you there is no concern of that occuring. Our services are open as much to the Old Arkham Republic as to any survivor group who require non-banner farm forum space or a larger group of survivors to communicate with.

It is through this peaceful and unifying feeling that we offer our hands in friendship to all and sundry. This may be our strong point, but it is also our weak point as it can be exploited.

Recently, Kotario posted on our forums on the matter, expressing his concerns. Every group within the Confederacy is autonomous, the only thing we share is the name, as a unifying crux, and the resources made available through the website (which includes a comprehensive scout and spy network). Each group stands to it's own barricading and defence plans. Except through the Confederacy we can have reenforcements and aid in a moments notice.

We have, as I mentioned before, run extensive patrols through all neighbouring suburbs to defend ourselves as well as other survivors. Thus, I wish to recommend that we withdraw all defence of your suburb for a trial period of a fortnight. Through this you may be more enlightened as to what defences outside hunters have provided to your group and allow you to trial and test the concept of being truly autonomous and xenophobic to outside resistance.

I will announce the cessation of entry to Old Arkham in 48 hours. I can be contacted via my talk page or via the IRC channel on this matter at any time. BrianSutherland 22:35, 28 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Brian, it would seem you're over reacting a bit. Never did we mean to imply that members of the Malton Confederacy were unwelcome in Old Arkham, nor are we xenophobic. We would simply have liked to be consulted before the suburb we've adopted and defended for months was unilaterally named a "protectorate" of a another group. We've been quite capably fending off incursions from both New Arkham, and Spicer Hills, as well as maintaining and recently electifying our Hospitals, PDs, and Necrotech facilities. We have our own revive network, and to date have not had to rely on any outside entities for our continued existence.

If the Malton Confederacy is all about offering friendship, and respecting autonomy, your post above does neither. You make pains to point out the de-centralised, non "press ganged" nature of the Malton Confederacy, and then in the next breath announce that you'll order a cessation of patrols in our suburb. If it's not about power, then why the veiled threat? Evidence of your patrols is non-existant, either in the form of spray painted messages, or a simple in-game "Hello."

Had we been approached with respect, we might have considered joining the Malton Confederacy. As it stands now, to have all the work we've done in Old Arkham disparaged, and worse, taken credit for by the MC, while at the same time being threatened with the "consequences" of not toeing the MC line, leaves us somewhat cold to the prospect of being associated your group.

If you feel the need to suspend your patrols in Old Arkham, then that's certainly your perogative. Please make sure any Malton Confederacy members understand that it was your decision, and not ours, and that the Old Arkham Republic will continue to offer our support to any survivors active in our suburb, regardless of their group affiliation. Should there be anything we can do to help, feel free to ask. But don't presume that everyone is going to feel "honored" to be unilaterally included in your group's plans. [Dan Cain Nov. 28, 2005]

Malton Fire Department

"***ALERT***" Hello friends, your frindly neighborhood Fire Captain here. As you know, we have ben devastated by the Bash. I saw that there was about 23 or so of you hanging out in St. Alda's Church. I am working on getting revives in. I can get revives to the cemetary at [9,90] in New Arkham. It seems that the Bash is moving north and avoiding New Arkham (according to information from our Fire Marshall) so it might be good to head over there, recoup and then come back and clean up. That's what I'm gonna do. If someone gets this please respond on my user talk:satandiscpage and we can start coordinating. I hope someone gets this . . . Satandisc 01:53, 7 July 2006 (BST)

The Malton Fire Department would like to start recruiting firefighters in this area. We would like to tag the Fire Stations with recruiting information. I humbly request that the graffiti on the Fire Stations be left to advertise the Malton Fire Department. When we recruit more members, we would like to have a more active partnership with the OAR. --Zeke 01:48, 10 Feb 2006 (GMT)

From the response from Dan Cain on the Old Arkham Wiki page, I believe the Malton Fire Department now has permission to change the tagging on the Fire Stations. We will ONLY be changing the graffiti on the insides and outsides of the 4 Fire Stations in Old Arkham. I am the Fire Marshall for this district (Nixbank, Foulkes Village, New Arkham, Old Arkham, and Ruddlebank). If any of my men get out of line, let me know and I will see to it personally that the situation is rectified immediately. --Zeke 23:37, 12 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Sorry, Zeke - I replied at the MFD wiki, and fixed the Old Arkham page, but never replied directly to your original note. You guys are more than welcome to take over the Fire Stations, as there are few fire fighters in the area, and they've been sadly neglected. We're glad to have you. Let us know if we can be of help. -Dan Cain 23:58, 14 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Vinny's Boys

Salutations, friends. I'm representing a small group operating in Old Arkham called Vinny's Boys. As I say, we are only small, and we are not all that vigorous about attracting new members, but we do aim to help.

Focusing mainly on Old Arkham, we aim to keep the South West suburbs of Malton safe for survivors. We appreciate all the excellent work you at the OAR have done so far, and we wish to take up Ally status with you. Your wiki pages don't seem to have been updated for a while, so I'm hoping you're still active. You seem to be still active ingame, where it matters.

Thanks. --Hahnsolo 13:25, 8 May 2006 (BST)

General Query regarding the OA Suburb Page

Greetings friends:

Hope all is well.

I was wondering if Cosario would be opposed to having the Hardy Building listed as a notable building in the OA suburb page?

  • Pro: flavor text brings out local color
  • Con: any spotlight on any building tends to bring zed attack
  • Con2: somehow counter-thematic...

I realize this is a rather bizarre query.

Best regards - tuttle freely 06:02, 15 September 2006 (BST)

Actually, scratch this suggestion/query - tuttle freely 21:20, 17 September 2006 (BST)

We come in peace.

Ok look, sooner or later we are going to move back in to Old Arkham, It's out plan to unight Arkham. But For now We will stay in New Arkham. We hope you think about our offer for peace.--Ltpotter 20:41, 19 October 2006 (BST)

Well, actually we don't come in peace. Still wanted to say it's good to see someone taking control of the Old Arkham Republic. Wish you all the best in reforming - IP might have to change to RIP to counter the ROAR... Anyway, I look forward to stiffer resistance and a more interesting fight. See you guys around, dead or alive. Best of luck. --Strangerer 22:03, 25 October 2006 (BST)

A Proposal

We at the The IC Chapter have come today to ask that you help us in combating the New Arkham Free Zone, seeing as you operate in New Arkham. Thanks. --Kamden 19:29, 9 April 2007 (BST)
