BobHammero
I ran for moderator previously, about a month ago. Below I address the concerns that some users expressed during that bid for moderator.
I have been on the wiki for around three months (two under this account, around one under the now defunct Tehasskickars account, which I shared with another user). I have made somewhere between 2300 and 2500 edits, and worked on a number of major projects. Among some of my largest contributions:
- Founded Project Wiki Patrol
- Created the {{Suburbblock}} template, and added it to (so far) 40% of suburb pages
- Extensive other work for the Locations Pages Project
- Numerous pages nominated for speedy deletion and misplaced user pages (Speedy Deletion Criterion 9) warnings served
- Many vandalizations reverted and vandals reported to Vandal Banning
- Extensive work on the Suggestions page (violations of the rules and other problems)
- Created the Quick Reference Help page
- Completely overhauled Suggestions Dos and Do Nots
- Helped many new users, and fixed numerous small problems as I've seen them
I am also a member of other projects (e.g., Project Welcome), an active voter on several important pages (e.g., Deletions and Suggestions), a volunteer Arbitrator, and the creator of many templates, some of which are fairly popular. This is just some of the work I have done on the wiki; a more complete list can be found here.
The only major disagreement I have had with any user on the wiki was with Amazing. When I ran for moderator before, some users expressed concern that it hadn't been long enough since the problems I had with him. I think that I have shown since then that I am steadfastly against engaging in wiki drama; in fact, after our probationary arbitration period ended, Amazing and I came to a mutual agreement not to engage in any further drama, which we both honored up until the time at which he was banned.
The last time I ran, there was some concern over my being a member of Project UnWelcome, and one of two founders of the group Assault on Stupid Survivors. I wish to address any concerns about these two things:
- I am a member of Project UnWelcome simply because I find it amusing, not because I take it seriously. I would never actually carry out its practices; I doubt any member of that project would.
- I draw a line between playing Urban Dead and editing the wiki. My role as co-leader of ASS has not, and will not, interfere with any edits on the wiki.
The main concerns the last time I ran for moderator were that I hadn't been in the community for long enough, and that it hadn't been long enough since the drama with Amazing. I believe that I have addressed these concerns, and shown my dedication to the wiki. I hope that the community finds me suitable for moderator. Thank you. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 05:36, 27 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - has proven to be willing to work with the wiki community and with UD at large. Has yet to find a suitable replacement arch-enemy to smear night and day. Not a bad guy at all. --Karlsbad 05:46, 27 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - Hammero has the sort of traits you want in a moderator: the ability to separate what's in-game from on-the-wiki. He has been an active participant in maintenance, and has contributed several very useful additions to wiki. –Xoid S•T•FU! 06:49, 27 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - I vouched him last time, and my vote remains the same. An excellent choice for a moderator. Cyberbob Talk 08:01, 27 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - Yep. Has contributed greatly to the wiki and has changed since Wikigate. --Brizth mod T W! 10:33, 27 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - Excellent contributions since the Wikigate. I have no doubts that he will make a good sysop.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 22:40, 27 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - Why not? – Nubis NWO 22:55, 27 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - My Comments and beleifs in Bobs charachter are known. Conndrakamod T 05:10, 28 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - I reckon Hammero would make a great Moderator. From what I've seen he is genuinly interested in improving the wiki. He seems to find alot of speedy deletions candidates and has a strong interest with improving the current suggestions system and is willing to discuss ideas in relation to it. I cannot think of anyone at the moment who is more deserving to be promoted. - Jedaz 09:37, 28 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - As I've noted previously, Bob is my homeboy. Over and above that, the sheer quantity and excellent quality of his contributions put him leaps and bounds ahead of most other wiki users, and he's clearly shown himself to be one of the most level-headed, least drama-prone persons on here since the Amazing mess. If he isn't promoted, there's no justice in the world and you're all secretly Hitler inside. --Jimbo Bob ASS•U! 07:02, 29 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - Sounds good. --Ember MBR 21:05, 29 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - All of his edits I've looked at have been excellent contributions, moving the wiki forward not side to side. --Max Grivas JG,T,P! 21:16, 29 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch Dont know him, but his edits and projects seem very worthwhile. Should make a very useful Mod. -- Krazy Monkey W! 22:49, 29 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - Bob's been super levelheaded and responsible. Hard working. I actually thought he was already a mod, until I saw that he was applying again. -Banana Bear 23:22, 29 June 2006 (BST)
- Vouch -Instrumental in creating a cease fire and peace agreement between CDF and ASS. My only disagreement with Hammero is his association with Project Unwelcome. That being said, I still think he'd be a good moderator.(Delta flyer 01:42, 30 June 2006 (BST))
- Vouch - i dont think that by this time my vouch is needed. Bob alrady have tons of vouches, and i think there wont be anyone opposing his nomination now. So, my suggestion is that we just get over the 2 weeks period, and mod him now. --hagnat mod 23:34, 30 June 2006 (BST)
- That would be fine with me, but I am also perfectly willing to wait the full length of time if anyone thinks that there are serious issues with me that need to be discussed, or any users who might have a problem with my being promoted who want to voice their opinion. I will leave it up to you and the other mods to decide what would be best. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 23:39, 30 June 2006 (BST)
- Just to state my opinion, i think we should wait the 2 weeks. Ignoring the rules can bring people involved nothing but trouble. It wuold be a shame for a promotion such as this one to get stained by bad faith comments of some guy with hidden intentions (as there were before) complaining about mods making differences at the time of promoting users. We have capable mods at the moment IMHO: is not my wish to deny the lessening of their work, but i think they can handle for 10 more days so they don't weaken the same rules they ought to protect. --Matthew Fahrenheit 03:44, 1 July 2006 (BST)
- BobHammero is not the exception to the rule. Plenty of people have had as many, if not more vouches in a similar amount of time. If you want, you can try and change the way Promotions is set up, but we're not going to ignore due process. – Nubis NWO 03:47, 1 July 2006 (BST)

- Vouch - He's the non-sysop guy who cares the most in mantaining the suggestions page (and a big number of other pages as well) in good shape. A good addition indeed. --Matthew Fahrenheit 03:33, 1 July 2006 (BST)
- Vouch - Dont know him personally but I have seen him handle things on the wiki with good thought and he seems fair. DarkStar2374383 Talk | LDY | LOE 15:43, 3 July 2006 (BST)

- If you seriously think that Bob hammero and BobHammero are one in the same, I am rather worried. – Nubis NWO 04:55, 5 July 2006 (BST)
- Indeed. I'm not the wiki vandal. Jimbo Bob had a wiki vandal impersonating him as well, just as Amazing has people using variations on his name to vandalize. That vandalism isn't any reason to vouch against me. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 05:03, 5 July 2006 (BST)
