Requesting an addition
I've just created a new category for people who need help with game- or wiki-related issues. If someone needs help, they can add the template helpme to their talk page, and ask a question there. If experienced editors and players add the Category:People looking for help page to their watchlist, they will be notified whenever someone needs help. I think this would make a nice feature for new users. Any chance it can get added to the navigation template so it's easy to find? I humbly suggest "Wiki information" or "Administration" as suitable sections. Popsicle Pete + 09:28, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Suburb Page
Hello, the suburbs page is incredibly biased, it is supposed to be a map, not a danger map for survivors. This creates a huge impression on new players that they should play survivor, I request that there be a page that shows a map of the suburbs, with no danger ratings. The current suburb page be moved to something like, "Survivor Danger Map". And another page for how hospitible it is for zombies using this map: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Zombie_Map maybe renamed to "Zombie Hospitible Map". --Thekooks 19:57, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- The danger levels on the suburb page are just as good an indicator to zombies as they are survivors. If you want to get in on some action, look for the dangerous suburbs, and go hook up with a horde doing some of the attacking. However, if you really are convinced that it's the way to go, the first thing you've got to do, before changing this template, is actually get the changes made to the suburb page, and the new survivor map made. To do that, get some consensus on the Talk:Suburb page -- boxy • talk • 23:35 1 December 2007 (BST)
Commannounce
To include Comannounce, or not to include Comannounce, that is the question -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 03:16, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- My stance is known: to have it at the main page (as it always have been) can't harm the wiki the slightiest bit, and makes people notice things that otherwise would be unknown for them. The Community portal isn't as used as we would desire for making it the only place announcing important events that affect the whole community, as a policy's approval or a new promotion bid. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 04:27, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- The design of the navigation table looks fugly with comannounce in it, and the big box is even uglier! And, besides, with the commanounce in the navigation template it will end up being shown in the Community Portal too, which is ridiculous because this info is already being displayed in the top of the page. But the crucial point is: By keeping comannounce in the main page, you are not encoraging people to participate in the community portal, where the same information and many more are displayed. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 04:52, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- Well I think it looks good there, go figure. The community portal is too hard to find, and too low profile. The comannounce template has only the most important pieces of info that need wide community involvement. It needs to be somewhere high profile, like the front page -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 05:03, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- It's a fact that by taking commanounce off the main page you'll redirect a fraction of the guys that used it to inform themselves to the Community portal, but even if you do that the biggest fraction would still refuse to use it, either for lack of knowledge of it's existence or because they check Recentchanges just as often as me. The design can be changed, I just happened to personally dislike the template being so flat when it contains two or three lines, but the template needs to stay in order to house, as Boxy said, the most important pieces of info that need wide community involvement. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 05:30, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- I just added a Community portal link to the comannounce template. I hope you like it. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 05:49, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- How about making the "Community Announcements" heading a link to the community portal? -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 05:54, 17 June 2007 (BST)
- I tought of that too but I don't think it would be noticed. Like the Administration heading: no one uses it. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 05:57, 17 June 2007 (BST)

- Well, now that I've got a bit of a handle on how Hagnat has changed the community portal area, I think there should only be one template that people have to update the latest info on, that will be included in both the Comannounce template (to be left on the main page), and the header of the Community Portal page. Do you think you can make the CommunityAnnouncements template fit into both of them Hagnat? -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 06:23, 17 June 2007 (BST)
Edit Requested
This is in the current code: *Unofficial UD Forums *Urban Dead IRC Channels :*Map of Malton :*Zombie Map *Firefox Extensions *Combat Calculator *Zombie Speech Translators *Related Games *Game Statistics
It has the maps as "subsets" of the IRC channels. It should be this: *Unofficial UD Forums *Urban Dead IRC Channels *Map of Malton *Zombie Map *Firefox Extensions *Combat Calculator *Zombie Speech Translators *Related Games *Game Statistics
I also request that this: *Gameplay *Character Classes *Skills *Items *Locations *Map of Suburbs *Revive Point *Mobile Phone Mast *Building Types *Frequently Asked Questions *Known Bugs *Radio
be changed to this: *Gameplay *Character Classes *Skills *Items *Locations *Map of Suburbs :*NT Locations & Security *Revive Point *Mobile Phone Mast *Building Types *Frequently Asked Questions *Known Bugs *Radio
the NT Status Map is a child of the suburb map, but is a very useful resource in its own right.

*Free* UD Avatars ?
monster just removed something i was wondering about. How 'free' is this collection of avatars ? There is only three of them to use, and if you want to get another (besides those) you have to donate money! I was thinking about removing this link when i made this template, but i left it for future discussion. What does the others think about it ? Should we remove it ? --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 00:42, 25 April 2006 (BST)

Zombie Tracker
Roomies seems to have discontinued this service. How long should this link persist before being removed? --Spraycan Willy MalTel 07:04, 20 June 2006 (BST)
- Immediately. Zod is trying to jam enough dead links in there as it is. –Xoid S•T•FU! 07:38, 20 June 2006 (BST)
Recent Changes
Do we really need this listed under Wiki Information considering we have the side bar with it on it already? - Jedaz 10:15, 21 June 2006 (BST)
- Nope. Also, while we are at it, shouldn't the help page be added? –Xoid S•T•FU! 12:19, 21 June 2006 (BST)
Malton Chronicles
since this page is protected, i am asking another mod to link Malton Chronicles on the second box, just below the urban dead lexicon link. Malton Chronicles is a place were people with writting skills can go to and link their own stories about before, during and after the zombie outrbreak in Malton. --hagnat mod 00:42, 1 July 2006 (BST)
New Map Link
I recently made a new and improved version of the Maton Map. I would like it to be put on the contents menu, preferably as the main link, as it has a few more features than the other map. I'm not picky though. --SirensT RR 03:24, 17 July 2006 (BST)
- Added as main, as I consider the extra features to be something of a serious time saver. –Xoid S•T•FU! 03:04, 18 July 2006 (BST)
I noted that the Map Mirrors were removed. This is somewhat distressing to me as I've always considered Soul-Fantasy.Net's uptime to be somewhat erratic (although my webmaster ensures me that this is entirely untrue). I would like people who one webspaces, and have access to PHP and MySQL Databases to contact me so they can host new mirrors. --SirensT RR 11:00, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Undeletions
Some reason why it's not under the Moderation heading? – Nubis 13:38, 27 August 2006 (BST)
- Hm? How could we have missed that for so long? Adding it now. –Xoid S•T•FU! 13:40, 27 August 2006 (BST)
Game Statistics Tracker
This is/was a cool site. But, seeing as it hasn't been updated since May of 2006, can we remove the link to it from the main page? --RedKnight 22:41, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- There having been no objections, I formally request that a mod remove the "Game Statistics Tracker" link from the navigation template. --RedKnight 19:59, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Urbandead.info / Iwitness
Its still developing, but I think its obvious that this page / tool is at least as useful as, say, the combat calculator is, and probably more useful (and widely used) than any of the zombie speech translators. So at the risk of engaging in (further) self promotion on this wiki, I'd like to request an "external link" listing for http://www.urbandead.info. . . . swiers 04:48, 7 July 2007 (BST)
External Links update request: Max's Map of Malton
Above link says it all. Besides being a pretty nice navigational map in itself, its also going to eventually serve as a cartographic front end for the iwitness database and some other udinfo tools.

Firefox link needs edit
The link to Firefox extensions needs to change. It currently reads as External Links#Useful_Files|Firefox Extensions while it should be External Links#Firefox_Tools|Firefox Extensions. --T K 17 02:26, 21 September 2007 (BST)
"Game Information" edit request
There should be a link to Clothes in the "Game Information" section. I'd put it right under "items". And move "radio" up from below "known bugs". -Ornithopter 21:07, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- Clothes arn't an important part of the game (they're a distraction for bored survivors), so I don't see the need for their inclusion here. Newbies don't need to know about clothes. I moved the radio link up a couple of notches -- boxy talk • i 23:29 31 January 2008 (BST)
- Fair enough. -Ornithopter 20:31, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Uh, What?
Why is "Urban Dead Wiki Board" at the top of the external links list, since a) it's obviously just another UD forum, and b) even if it were a "UDWiki specific forum" that's . . . significantly less useful than, say, a page about all the forums, or IRC, or the Maps, or, you know, pretty much everything else on that page.--Jorm 17:12, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- errr.. who put that thing in there ? It's already listed in Unofficial UD Forums, and has little movement. Link removed. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 17:26, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- i just noticed that the link was there since June 2007 (that's how far i dig for it), I wonder how it passed on unoticed until now :P --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 17:29, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- As a relative newbie (joined in June '07) I found the old, "unused" forums quite helpful. As it is now, a new player would have to wade through a lot of jargon and game-specific language in order to find a place where they could just ask questions about urbandead. Yeah, smart folks will read the whole site in order to get the gist of the game, but it would (in my opinion) be useful to have some sort of "official" forum for answering questions, no matter how rare those questions are.--User:Marcus Bell
- The forum that was linked had less than 1 post a week. --Karekmaps?! 11:11, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- So is something like Wiki Questions needed for game itself too? --~~~~ [talk] 14:38, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

External Link thingy
I was wondering if the Monroeville Map could be added to the external links section. A lot of people are checking on it to see how the map is progressing, and once it is finished it'll be a great point of reference. Jordan Salafack 06:09, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think it would be a good idea to add a map with that add there, it'd be the wiki advertising and supporting a group/forum. We'll have maps up here soon too.--Karekmaps?! 23:09, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Centered Map
I noticed the Zombie Map that is linked from the External Links section in Template:Navigation was down a couple of days ago (maybe its bandwidth quota was exceeded?) So I created a similar one here. Of course by the time I'd finished the original one was working again, but I'm submitting this link anyway. --Explodey 16:10, 31 March 2008 (BST)
