::::::BCH uses PKing as one of their tools against very, very specific targets, but isn't a "Hostile Group" on a suburb level. 9 out of 10 visitors to the NE corner are perfectly safe from us. --{{User:Spiderzed/Sandbox/Sig}} 22:16, 6 December 2010 (UTC) | |||
:Sorry that I haven't been able to answer this, because I've been massively ill. Deahwire was almost definitely complaining about how The BCH (A group whose admission requirement is 10 PKs) have been allowed to classify as pro-survivor. In terms of using Philosophe knights as a parallel, that's completely inappropriate, because you don't need to PK to be a member, e.g. Damon Young. And of course, Deathwire was also probably confused by the fact that a system operator forced through the BCHs original changes. Personally, I agree with Thad that neither of them should have the right to classify as whatever they want, and they should be forced to put what they actually are. However, given that Deathwire had previously been informed that it was acceptable by a system operator, I see no reason to give him a vandalism case or anything like that. Either leave them both or move both to the right sections. Of course, if there is a case of any kind (Vandalism, arbies) I won't have anything to do with it, as an involved party.--{{User:Yonnua Koponen/signature}} 18:46, 6 December 2010 (UTC) | :Sorry that I haven't been able to answer this, because I've been massively ill. ::Hasn't this issue come up quite a few times? My understanding was that it was entirely up to the group themselves how they were listed, and that's a position I'd stand behind. It's definitely not vandalism though, as it's not interfering with anything - if it gets to an edit war then the solution is to arby it and have someone neutral decide what stays where and set a precedent for it, but I'd hope common sense would stop people interfering enough to get that far. {{User:Misanthropy/Sig}} 18:54, 6 December 2010 (UTC) | ::Hasn't this issue come up quite a few times? :::Well, my stance has always been that so long as they are consistent and can justify it somehow, it's generally fine. That said, D.I.T.P.S. lists itself as a survivor group on its own pages, which directly contradicts this change, hence why I was concerned. I don't want to speak for BCH, but in the case of the Philosophe Knights, we do, as was said, allow for our members to ascend the ranks without PKing (in fact, our most recent entrant to our highest rank did so, from what I heard). Additionally, the Knights are consistent in their message that they are acting in the best interests of the population, rather than being hostile for the sake of being hostile, and would hold that there is a difference between being a "PKer Group", which they readily admit that they are, and being a "Hostile Group", which is what gets listed on the suburb pages. Plus, there's also the fact that the suburbs where the Knights are listed are the ones where they do act in a very pro-survivor way, working alongside other groups to rebuild and maintain the suburb. So, in all of those regards, the Knights are not really an apt comparison to the current situation, since their listing as a survivor group is justifiable on quite a few different bases. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 19:31, 6 December 2010 (UTC) | :::Well, my stance has always been that so long as they are consistent and can justify it somehow, it's generally fine. ::::Anyway, yeah, I'm not planning to pursue this, but I wanted to make sure a local with wiki knowledge was aware of it, since I didn't feel equipped to handle it at the time. Also, that last response was in general to the conversation, not just at you two, since clearly you both already knew most of it. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 19:34, 6 December 2010 (UTC) | ::::Anyway, yeah, I'm not planning to pursue this, but I wanted to make sure a local with wiki knowledge was aware of it, since I didn't feel equipped to handle it at the time. Not sure......if this is of any significance. Poking you about it in case it is, since you're in that area and would know better how to handle it if it is a problem. —Aichon— 06:34, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
