Suggestion description
New Skills: Technician (Civilian), Golden Hand (Civilian), Master of the Trade (Civilian), Rifle Training (Military), Advanced Rifle Training (Military).
New Item: Tool box, Rifle Clip
(Optional) New Class: Technician
New Weapons: M1-Garand (Rifle)
Overall Description: The point about this would be to improve slightly the chances of Survivors and hopefuly this will introduce a new asspect (or begin to introduce) a more technical side to things. I will explain the New Skill, Item and Weapon below as well as how do I imagine they will work in-game.
Item: Toolbox- An item which improves the chance of repairing the rifle, and improves the ammount of hp healed on a barricade or generator. Has five uses (after that all the tools and spare parts are broken or used up) and may be found in malls and warehouses.
Item: Rifle Clip- Contains 8 bullets and matches only the M1-Garand (Rifle). May be found in the Museum only.
New Weapon: M1-Garand (Rifle)- An 8 shot weapon from the past century. Due to its age it can only do effectively 8 damage and may contain a maximum of 8 bullets. As a down side, due to its age it tends to jam and brake down very often (20% chance after each shot). May be fixed by using a toolbox (5% untrained, 20% trained, 50% master).
Skill: Technician (Civilian)- Improves the chance of repairing a weapon using a toolbox (from 5% to 20%).
Skill: Golden Hand (Civilian)- When using a toolbox the ammount of hp ‘healed’ when repairing a barricade or generator increases by 50%. (Requiers the Construction Skill)
Skill: Master of the Trade (Civilian)- Increases the chance of repairing a weapon to 50%. Adiitionaly increases the ammount of hp ‘healed’ when repairing a barricade or generator to 100% when using a toolbox (thus in one go, instead of healing a standard ammount it will be double that, this negates the 50% from the Golden Hand skill) (Requiers the following skills: Technician, Golden Hand and Construction)
Using the M1-Garand (Rifle)- When untrained the chance to hit is only 5%. This may be increased to 30% when you have basic firearms training and a further 25% (and so a hit chance of 55%) when having Rifle training or even 65% when having Advanced Rifle Training. Each time the weapon inflicts only 8 damage.
(Optional) New Class: Technician (Civilian)- When choosing this class the player will get a Toolbox, Axe and the Construction skill on start-up.
Using the Repair Skills without proper training: When holding the toolbox a player will get a 5% repair bonus when reapiring a barricade, but not a generator. He also gets a 5% chance of repairing a rifle. Other than that he does not get any other bonuses, unless he gets the proper skills. (The 5% bonus for repairing barricades dissapears after buying the Golden Hand or Master of the Trade Skill)
The Rifle Training and Advanced Rifle Training act in the same way as the pistol/shotgun training ‘course’ and should be self explanatory.
M1-Garand:
Damage: 8 damage (6 when hitting a flak jacket)
Base Accuracy: 5%
Capacity: 1 Rifle Clip
Location: Museum (4%)
Encumberence: 6%
Rifle Clip:
Used by: M1-Garand (Rifle)
Contents: 8 Bullets
Locations: Museum (10%)
Encumberence: 2%
Tool Box:
Locations: Malls (5%), Warehouses (3%), Fire Stations (5%)
Encumberence: 10%

- Change - This is a great suggestion for an additional flavor weapon. However, the repair kit is a bit annoying and could baffle newbies. Take the repair kit out, and you have my vote. --Hhal 12:31, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill - I don't see how putting guns in museums (where nobody looking for weapons would search) helps survivors. Nor do I like repair kits. Nor do I think survivors need help, especially with combat or barricades. Hello, we just bounced back from 60/40 (which was the worst the zombies could do) in less than 3 weeks, right? --Seb_Wiers VeM 12:51, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill Just one suggestion at a time please.--Seventythree 16:21, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- kill i like the rifle and i have got to say that living in the uk the first place i would think to go for weapons is a museum... The military one near(ish) me has the largest stock in Europe and includes literaly everything! however combining these two is not ideal and i think bits are a bit too complex! --Honestmistake 17:22, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- kill -I applaud the amount of work you put in this but you try to much at the same time. Unfortuneatly individually they are either dupes or close to it. Taken all to gether there are to many important specifics that I don't like.--Vista 11:09, 3 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill - I feel like voting 5 times for each suggestion you've jammed into the one. Use the talk page first next time, please -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 11:24, 3 May 2007 (BST)
- Kill - It's not impossible to consider your many ideas like this, but it is impossible to give a simple up or down vote to a whole package without extensive discussion. And well, see everyone else's comments. --Rasi 07:28, 4 May 2007 (EST)
- Kill - As the many other people have already said. - JedazΣT MC ΞD CT SR: 09:27, 15 May 2007 (GMT)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - Don't suggest fifteen million things at once. It makes it impossible to vote keep unless you like everything, which I don't.--Bluish wolf 12:40, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- Spam - The above suggestion looked like you were suggesting golden hands make barricade repairing rifles appear in museums. One suggestion at a time, please.--Cap'n Silly T/W/P/C 13:51, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- Spam I concur. Resubmit the suggestions individually, or at least keep concepts seperate by category (one suggestion for the rifle stuff, one for the technician stuff). --Jon Pyre 14:04, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- Spam Normally, I'd go for a kill on the rifle, and perhaps even a keep on the toolbox. But the toolbox isn't proparbly explained, and you should really seperate them into two suggestions... allthough the rifle is unlikely to fly, they never do. - BzAli 16:09, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- Spam - I can't vote on all of these suggestions at once. Resubmit them individually. --c138 RR - PKer 17:36, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- Spam - As everyone has said, too much to look at all at once. --Rgon 19:37, 2 May 2007 (BST)
- Spam - as above --Duke GarlandLCD 13:04, 3 May 2007 (BST)
- Dupe for the toolbox, kill for the hand skill, spam for the baricade/genny skill, spam for the rifle and clips, and as everyone else above. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:28, 3 May 2007 (BST)
- Above. --Funt Solo 15:47, 4 May 2007 (BST)
- Spam - Holy shit that's way too many suggestions. --User:Axe27/Sig 05:43, 6 May 2007 (BST)
- Spam - Too many suggestions for someone besides you to like the group as a whole. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 09:45, 14 May 2007 (BST)
