Saving my own fresh new blank talk page from the incoming inevitable D: -- Spiderzed▋ 17:48, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Cobra Page
Can I edit the page so that it shows today's date in 1984 rather than 1984/03/16 (unless that has special meaning for you)?-MHSstaff 19:36, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
PHOBIA Page
I want to add some pages that will link to the PHOBIA page similar to Cobras page. I think it would help to tidy it up alot. Where do I look for guidance in doing that? Are the linked pages templates?
Knock-knock!
Do excuse me, if this page in not supposed to be used for such purposes: please, please check my talk page for remonstrance. Sincerely yours, --Alexander Ignus 18:50, 11 January 2011 (UTC).
SWA
Hey man, I've noticed you working on something called SWA in your sandbox. I just wanted to let you know that when you get around to putting it into the mainspace you can have the old SWA redirect. Currently it redirects to South West Alliance, but I've been the only guy maintaining the wiki page for a while and the group went inactive a couple months ago. My only caveat would be that you change any incoming links to SWA to SWA first, so that old references on the wiki still point to the correct place. Good luck with your new group! --GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 13:14, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

You might want to work in {{purge}} somehow. The CURRENTMINUTE templates suffer horribly from page caching. You could, however create a Purge link to your sandbox or the page it is placed on and each time it is clicked, a non-cached version will be displayed. ~ 19:41, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
UDWiki:Administration/Policy_Discussion/No_minimum_vote_on_APD
I take it now this has passed, you're going try some of this again, amiright? --Thadeous Oakley Talk 15:24, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, #2 and #3 are definitively going to be resubmitted this week, as they originally had 2/3 majorities. #1 not so much as it hasn't gained a 2/3 majority in the original vote. Don't think that it would be called for to resubmit it, unless another significant change comes to the wiki that relates to the promo process. -- Spiderzed▋ 17:52, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Figured that much. Btw, your of German origin? In what province do you live, if I may ask? --Thadeous Oakley Talk 21:40, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, German origin. And currently living in the Black Forest area. -- Spiderzed▋ 21:43, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, the Schwarz Wald. I happen to live 10 minutes off North Rein-Westfalen. Which of the following: CDU, SPD, FDP, or Grune? --Thadeous Oakley Talk 22:00, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- They all should be hung and left to rot, to varying degrees. As that sadly isn't a valid vote option (and as the APPD won't ever snap a parliament seat), I'm stuck with being a massive swing voter. -- Spiderzed▋ 22:28, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Oh come on, they all suck? I'll try again: Left or Right? I count anarchy as left :P --Thadeous Oakley Talk 22:44, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- I wouldn't vote for the APPD for the anarchy, I'd vote for them for the free beer - that's already more than I could expect from any other party. Oh, and I like the idea to put nazis into GEPs - that would have made the Cornholioo case sooo much easier.
- As for left or right wing, the choice inside the German right wing consists of a.) a historical collecting pond for old nazis that was originally funded by the Catholic church, with policies and ideas that are still heavily coloured by that history and b.) the Big Business party, that occassionally hands out candy for Small Business to keep the voters at bay.
- Which would solely leave the left wing - if this in turn wouldn't consist of a.) "we are like the CDU, but are buddies for trade unionists and pretend that we care for them", b.) friggin' anti-war hippies or c.) the unsacred marriage of old East German communist pigs with radical West German communist rioters.
- Srsly, nothing left but to swing vote and hope to settle down the bigger evil. -- Spiderzed▋ 23:03, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Seems to me you just don't like politics very much :P. The things you describe are mostly common traits for those parties; The CDU having christian ideals, the FDP being in favor of an unrestricted market, the SPD having support of trade unions isn't really out of place. I'm sure you have your own ideas on how to run the country, besides free beer, you'll likely find some common ground with one or two parties. The difference between all these movements such liberalism, social-democracy, socialism and christen-democracy is substantial. Disagreeing with all them kinda makes me wonder what's left. --Thadeous Oakley Talk 18:23, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- Substantial difference? Not in the federalist multi-party system of Germany. Hardly a policy passes without being heavily watered down either by the coalition liaison, by the Bundesrat or by sweet-talk with potential/current regional coalition liaisons to don't step on their toes (as CDU + Greens, or SPD + Linkspartei).
- That aside, I don't agree with any party on the big picture. I absolutely can't stand the CDU's pro-clerical stance, I absolutely can't stand the FDP's blatant Big Business corruption, I absolutely can't stand the Green party's fanatical pacifism - and the less is said about the Linkspartei (which is a Rogue's Gallery of East Germany's socialist party henchmen and West Germany's pro-communism nutjobs), the better.
- Only the SPD is a party I have no absolute beef with - in fact, I was a staunch supporter of the Schröder administration. Even in the light of the Gazprom scandal, it beats the former and the current administration by a large margin. But these days, the SPD lacks any recognizable profile, direction, faces or opinions. And those who actually stick out maybe better shouldn't. -- Spiderzed▋ 19:13, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry about that, it was a typo. PS. Know any good anarchist groups? --Anachomutualist 18:28, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

An excellent reply to thad.
Although I'd partially disagree. Active policy design is a project in itself. (and one I've never done.) If you do get bored, come help out here. its brand new. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 13:01, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
and if we get bored we could always shoot the malton rangers.

Your Bid
I've changed my "vote" to against. What you've just posted on Sexualharrison's talk page is disgusting and I have no support for you as a candidate whatsoever any more.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 19:50, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Relevant. Spider is answering Harrison's question, not offering a suggestion. 20:07, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Blatantly not. Read the comment for once. The language is quite clear. Now go do something better than repeatedly hounding everybody who disagrees with you.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 20:16, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Keep that discussion on A/PM, as anything relevant to the bid. No need to drag things into hidden corners of the wiki out of the community's view. -- Spiderzed▋ 20:20, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was just informing you, as I usually do when I change support on a bid. Mis presumably copied his post here so that I wouldn't miss it.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 20:23, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- You can bet that I keep an eye on my own bid. If I would pay so little attention to something so directly related to me that I'd need someone to point out changes in it to me, I shouldn't run in the first place. -- Spiderzed▋ 20:30, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- It's just to make sure.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 22:45, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
