Karlsbad

I've been a user and observer of the wiki since about mid-January; my first edit comes from mid-Feburary. I have somewhere between 250 and 500 edits (didn't count), and one truly really bad (but not Spam-Worthy) suggestion. I've had a vocal presence on multiple issues central to the wiki, and I haven't become so biased as to have any vocal enemies- actually, the one personal grudge I have held now has become more of an alliance now (Hi Amazing!).

Questionare:
Q: What Moderator duties do you see yourself focusing on, as a rule?

A: Not much more than I do as a user, in all seriousness. I plan to continue voting on Moderation issues, possibly start learning how to delete and shift things around. If promoted I would see how the Moderation toys work and figure how I could best use them.

Q: How do you react to criticism online?

A: I can be snippy, but I'm quite capable of calming myself down and seeing all sides of the issue. I'm not above looking at my own comments and admiting I'm wrong, and I'm more than willing to have an acceptable agreement between parties than a winner.

Q: What is your current attitude to the moderators, as a group?

A: I see them as experienced regular users who take on responsibilities because they have invested alot into this game and want others to do so as well. At times I'd like them to be more mod-ish, but it is more of a personal philosophy.

Q: Have you had any previous position of responsibility in any other online communities, and if so, elaborate?

A: I was known as Darkwolf on a Warhammer 40k forum (DakkaDakka) that had a quite vibrent and at times passionate Off-Topic community, and took up the responsibilities as Off-Topic/Spam forum mod as well as Role-Playing/Chain Story mod. Was known as a funny guy moreso than a rule-setter, but I got more done with conversation between users than I ever did by moving topics and closing them.

  • Vouch - Karlsbad is an intelligent and unbiased individual, and his statement "…I got more done with conversation between users than I ever did by moving topics and closing them." really impresses me. –Xoid STFU! 09:39, 14 May 2006 (BST)

  • Re: Have I changed from a misspelling of a National Park into a township named under Germanic influence while I was sleeping?  ;^)
  • Re: yes, its all an atempt to move you underground...
  • Vouch - Although I am not sure I can agree with the word unbiased in regards to Karlsbad, I can say what I have seen on the Wiki is considerably useful with any bias kept in check better than others I could name coughmecough has helped with at least two of the suburbs in the Locations List so that gets a vouch from me straight up...
