Eley Way Police Department
Hello! I'm a bit surprised about your large edit of Eley Way Police Department. I can imagine what you're trying to bring across, but I wonder if you attempted to convice the main editor of that page, User:lane grate. A lot of what you deleted I'd consider valuable content and it might have been appropriate to move it elsewhere instead of just deleting. What you left of the page appears quite impersonal to me, compared with what was there before. - Stephen Krantz 17:46, 6 June 2009 (BST)
- There was a large chunk of POV, followed by a larger chunk of news copy-pasted from various suburbs. The copy-paste stuff certainly isn't useful, but if you, the author or anybody else wishes to keep the POV part I'm not against putting it back in or finding another home for it (preferably the latter). Generally though, locations are intended by be reasonably NPOV and not used to by groups to stake claims (even though many are), hence my edit. I'll drop a note by his page to see what he thinks (and maybe convince him to use the neglected danger report). -- RoosterDragon 18:02, 6 June 2009 (BST)
- Thank you, that's certainly a productive idea - Stephen Krantz 21:12, 6 June 2009 (BST)
User:lane grate here, after the shock of what was done, I realize a revamp of Eley Way Police Department's wiki is probably overdue. I have since I began UD built the site from scratch and assistance and advice of others. Any further advice can be sent me on my User page or through my email.
The newsbriefs were outdated, admittedly, but were included to inform of conditions in the SW-1 district. Vital communication is crucial to avoiding a suburb collapse into ruin. Current conditions in Tollytown, Freyer Bank, Milltown; are conditions that could have been contained to RED status if communication and co-opporation were employed by the Pro-Survivor community. The recent retaking of Griggs Heights is a prime example of a community re-establishing order through communication.
The Police Departments, regardless of who occupies the command,(MPD, Military, or group) are 1) a prime target for Pro-Zombie players, to deny ammo and flak jackets etc and demoralize a population. 2) a priority for Pro-Survivors to gather ammo and join as a community by planning strategy and informing one another of known dangers. I will find a NPOV way to inform and prepare the citizens and my fellow officers to the hazards ahead. Detective Lane grate MPD SW-1 18:59, 2 July 2009 (BST)
A little advice
Hey there, you seem like a fairly helpful sysop so maybe you can help me out with a quick question. What's the policy on drastically changing the "History" section of a location? The location in question is Vincent Square Police Department and man is it ugly. Spelling and grammar errors abound in each sentence and the thing drones on like a wall of text. What kind of license can I take in "restructuring" the info there? --GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 17:17, 8 June 2009 (BST)
- I'm not a sysop, and probably not fairly helpful either :P. Anyway, locations pages are community based so you have free reign to make any edits that will improve the article. The history bit shouldn't even be signed... So yeah, feel free to correct the errors, or rewrite or remove the whole thing as you see fit. -- RoosterDragon 17:21, 8 June 2009 (BST)
- Thanks, you ARE helpful. And you're not a sysop? Weird, I see your stuff all over the place. --GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 17:23, 8 June 2009 (BST)
- He probably should be a janitor-op, unless he's totally opposed to the idea (hint, hint) -- boxy talk • teh rulz 13:59 21 June 2009 (BST)

I didn't feel like starting a new thread here, but I wanted to alert you to the fact that I've included a question in my vouch vote for your sysop bid. Please check it out and register an answer. Thanks =) --GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 18:36, 8 July 2009 (BST)

Rippon Building
You removed the buildingstatus template for what reason?
I am in the process of creating the page for that structure. It was barely up there 5 minutes. So just FYI, please don't take it back down.-- Belgianrofliron 21:00, 18 June 2009 (BST)
- I took it down because that template isn't intended to be called directly onto pages. You need to create a danger report and call that. I removed it as trying to track down bad calls is impossible after the fact. -- RoosterDragon 21:05, 18 June 2009 (BST)

How does this one strike you? Better?-- | T | BALLS! | 23:06 22 June 2009
- Additional info for your convenience: First I made a new template page, User:Zombie Lord/sig2. I removed all calls regarding Timestamps on that page. Second I put
{{SUBST:User:Zombie Lord/sig2}} <tt>{{subst:LOCALTIME}} {{subst:LOCALDAY}}
{{subst:LOCALMONTHNAME}} {{subst:LOCALYEAR}}</tt>
- in the Nickname space on my preferences page. Now I only sign with 3 tildes. -- | T | BALLS! | 00:07 23 June 2009

Could you please explain how I can replace the black boxes with Wiki things or whatever you recommend.

- Well then you don't know me well :P I'm using IE and I don't know much about web-coding or javascript or whatever, so you're barking up the wrong tree entirely. Midianian might be better, he writes a couple of scripts and seems to know about this stuff. -- RoosterDragon 15:49, 3 July 2009 (BST)
