Huh, I saw a survivor drop dead from infection today and thought "wow, that was cool, wonder why I;ve never seen that before." And then I clicked your link on a whim and stumbled on this, not 24 hours later. Wierd. Good suggestion though. Now we just gotta make it so you can see folks (living or dead) jump from buildings and how THEY die- or don't die, if they are zombies. Brain Fever
Thanks for your comments there. I'm surprised its still up, and will be happy to have this one go to the "rejected" file so it can be cited as a dupe in the future. I'm surprised you worried most about it impacting noobs- given the mechanism, the fewer items you carry, the less it should concern you. But anyhow, the really crucial flaw that I finally realized is its potentially an "instant kill" on anybody who does not have a FAK. Regardless of HP's, the best way for them to deal with a brain fever is to stand still and hope they get FAKed- or killed. Which is not really fun (not spending APs = no fun) and would basically convert brain rot zombies into grief machines. I'm gonna work on a version that actually causes "hallucinations" by messing with the information the player gets; Kevan could bring back the "fog" effect for this, among other things. --S.Wiers X:00 14:27, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- Actually I also agree with that. Survivors always want all the power, they never want the zombies to have anything good, or effective, or even fair. However, I am more than willing to work with you on this one. Some time ago, I proposed a Stage II Infection where this infection caused dizziness, nausea, and hallucinations. The reason a lot of people liked it is mentally you're so, so sick.. you start thinking like a zombie, and this is very very disturbing for even the most psychotic human. If I may possible ways to do what you proposed but in a different, safer, way. #1: While infected, if you use free running there is a 1% chance while moving, if you have 30 or more items of dropping 1 item in your inventory that is not a weapon, FAK, or NT item. (drop stuff by accident while trying to walk from rooftop to rooftop) #2: Hallucinations, your survivor while infected sees the game map in a confusing manner often mistaking the actual number of zombies at a location for 2 to 4 times the actual number (terror, fear, etc.) what is actually happening is you can "hear" the voices of the dead, in your mind (oh dear..) #3 Your survivor can bite other survivors (instead of a punch attack!) and this bite can cause infection.. but it does only 2 damage, not 4.. still, very screwed up. - Well not sure what your intention is with the idea. If by this you want a cap of level 44, ok. If you want the character profile to count as having another "level" lets say for every 500 XP after the last skill purchased. Just so people can see how many people out here a couple grand or so on their character. That could be handy info on the stats page. MrAushvitz 22:00, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- My intention? Instead of Lv44 being the highest level, make it Lv100. Technically what I'm trying to do is for every 1000XP gained, the character gains a level. This will keep going until the character reaches Lv100, which in most RPGs is the max level. I feel it helps characters who want to level up their characters, but can't because of certain things, like the RAF's no zombie skill rule. Those members of the RAF may want to reach the max level, but can't because of that silly rule. With this, though, they will be able to reach the max level. Hey! A University is needed here. I think it's a superb idea.
Just read your suggestions for a bit of flavor in creating a University here in Malton. The voting date of November 2006 (I think) was a bit ago but with some facts and figures for the population levels and some neighborhood data describing the locations for Admin bldgs. It would seem more realistic.
I want to know if I can help to supply any data or maps with pretty pictures that would help you to get your idea accepted. Really no self-respecting town with a population that would occupy 100 square grid in any world could do without a higher education system. The minimum requirements would be felt in every suburb and would demand a School organization bldg for every 2 to 4 suburbs. I'm really trying to preach to the choir, I believe but if I want to help with this I want to talk to the originator of this idea first. May I help with the development of said idea.
