20070510 Corpse Disguise Revised

Mordac the Refuser 05:28, 10 May 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
New Skill

Suggestion scope
Zombies

Suggestion description
Ok, I've rewritten this for clarification and balance issues. Zombies should have the ability to "play dead," i.e. show up as a corpse on a human players' screen.

For example:

"You enter a factory. There are five dead bodies.

Suddenly, one of the dead bodies rises stands up. It's a zombie!"

Countermeasures:

-All normal non-Zombie hunters/scientist humans have a 50% chance of uncovering a corpse-disguised zombie when searching an area:

For example:

"You enter a factory. There are five dead bodies.

You search the area. You find nothing. Suddenly, one of the dead bodies makes a horrible groaning sound."

The human player's monitor would then register a zombie in the area, thus allowing the player to attack it.

-Whenever a player drags a disguised-body out of the building, the disguise is instantly uncovered.

-Scientists have a 75% chance of uncovering any corpse disguised zombies when searching an area.

-Zombie Hunters have a 100% chance of uncovering corpse-disguised zombie when searching an area.

-All zombies automatically differentiate actual dead bodies from disguised zombies upon entering an area.

-Activating a generator will instantly uncover all hiding zombies in the area.

Benefits: -Gives a lonely low-hp or low-ap Zombie a better chance of "staying low" esp. while amongst an area filled with humans.

-Groups of zombies could set up ambushes for wandering humans.

-Allows zombies to monitor buildings and conduct espianage, etc.

Drawbacks: -Costs two AP to turn on/off

-A zombie cannot move, attack, or make any sound while in "corpse disguise" mode.

-A zombie in "corpse disguise" mode is twice as likely to be hit if attacked.

-This ability can only be used ONCE PER AREA. This is to prevent zombie players from using the ability as a cheap "dodge" tactic in the midst of battle.

The only valid voting sections are Keep, Kill, Spam and Dupe. If you wish to abstain from voting, do not vote.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep I like it. this gives zombies an advantage that might bring up their numbers, the way it is now survivors outnumber zombies considerably. I don't think this is that over-powered, I mean they get revealed when you try to dump them out the window automatically, and getting rid of the bodies is the first thing anybody does when they go into a building.--Wee Sonny MacGregor 03:07, 11 May 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill I'm not going to vote keep here, but If you start a discussion I think we could make something out of this.--Seventythree 12:42, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - Would make it next to impossible for humans to ever retake anything, once it's breached. - BzAli 13:48, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  3. kill almost a spam as i can't think of a way to make this workable? Basically if it only works indoors its crap and if it does work outdoors its invisible ninja zombie time! If attackers gained a significant bonus to hit the zombie possum then maybe... just maybe? --Honestmistake 14:54, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - Still ridiculously overpowered. --User:Axe27/Sig 14:56, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - I was about to Spam this, but decided against it. Ninja zombies? No. Whilst it's an interesting idea it's also an overpowered skill and to add to that you have the fact that this game, as far as I'm aware, is based upon the shambling Romero-style zombies, so not a bunch of possum-playing MENSA zeds. Metagaming and X:00 tactics make this potentially game breaking, so this really cannot stand. The Hierophant
  6. Kill - As Seventythree. --Hhal 19:02, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - One point of confusion: The disguise is uncovered when a zombie is dragged outside, however, is the disguise just uncovered, and the zombie stays inside, or is the zombie successfully dragged outside. Regardless, it remains a kill for aforementioned reasons, but if you end up changing this and rying again, might be good to clarify. --Rgon 19:06, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - Seriously, just choose better places to hide. It's not THAT hard to stay alive for a night. --Heavy DDR 23:09, 10 May 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Dupe - Play Dead -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 10:51, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam, but dupes quicker - The spam part is because it's too easy to hide the advancement of a Zombie army with this. - JedazΣT MC ΞD CT SR: 10:04, 10 May 2007 (GMT)
  3. Dupe/Spam - Its overpowered to zombies on a gemassive scale and I don't like that... --MarieThe Grove on Tour 15:52, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  4. Dupe - as boxy--Vista +1 17:19, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  5. Dupe/Spam as those above. My reason for spam? Zombie ambush teams are a big no no on my list. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:05, 11 May 2007 (BST)
