20081205 In The Dark

Destor 01:02, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Skill

Suggestion scope
Zombies

Suggestion description
A new skill, for Zombies. They would get a new skill, which is a sub-skill of tangling grasp. The skill would make it so that after a Zombie gets a successful hand attack that lands a grip the zombie would get their full hit% with their bite attack, until they lose their grip. This would make the game more interesting because dark buildings would lose some of their saftey, and encourage more active strategy with those who use them as hiding places (see:pk'er and/or non-construction+free running person) Please note that this only works in dark buildings, applies only to the bite attack, does not affect survivors, and changes nothing else with game mechanics. one final note; DO NOT give kill votes because of the current game situation, if this ever gets implemented it will be far after this current situation.

Keep Votes

  1. Author Keep happens to be mine. --Destor 01:37, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
  2. keep as long as it is only for bites (and head-butts!) So what i f zombies are winning, if the bugger has hold of you his penalty should be far lower cos its not like it does not know where you are.... and don't tell me the zed still gets tangle bonus because that really does not make sense. Oh and if Karek is right then I am just voting in support of Kevan! --Honestmistake 01:26, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - you said it makes bite attack full percentage once you've engaged with tangling grasp until you lose your grip. how does that even make sense? Did you mean hand attacks not bite?--xoxo 01:25, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
no, I meant that after a zombie grabs a dude, his head is right above the survivor so he can easily bring it down over him, despite being in the dark. And for hands... he would have to release part of his grip, and then swing his hand near where he thinks the survivor is. So, bite not hands --Destor 01:37, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
I understand the concept however i'm not sure as to how this fits in regarding gameplay.--xoxo 02:17, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
ok, I will make an excellent statement on the discussion page. so look there.--Destor 02:37, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
  2. Kill - No, on the grounds that even if a zombie did entangle you in their grasp, current game mechanics dictate that zombies are just as blind as humans are, and therefore would still have a hard time hitting their targets. For instance, just because I grab hold of someone in the dark, does not necessarily mean it'll be that much easier to punch them in the face. --Private Mark 07:21, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
  3. Kill - I see where you're going with this, but still no --Sage|Carr Cobra 09:36, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
  4. Change (or don't) - This should be an automatic benefit of Tangling Grasp; no further skill is needed. And to specifically rebut Private Mark, zombies do their damage by mauling and grappling after a Tangling Grasp is successful, and darkness should present no hindrance to that. Re: Karek below, however, there may not be any reason to worry about it.--Jiangyingzi 14:29, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
  5. Kill "DO NOT give kill votes because of the current game situation, if this ever gets implemented it will be far after this current situation"? --Secruss|Yak|Brahnz!|CGR|PKA|800px-Flag of the United States.svg.png|EMLN|Templates|RRF|RFTM|Crap|WHOZ|Evil3.gif|MU|GN|C2008|Chippy.gif|20:17, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
just.. go look at the suburb map. I meant that people shouldn't say "dude, the zombies are wining, why should they get another bonus"--Destor 22:59, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
  6. Kill - As J3D. The suggestion generally is quite unclear, and your talk page response doesn't fix that. Linkthewindow  Talk  08:24, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
  7. Kill - I think it should be an automatic benefit, too. If you could clear up the wording of the suggestion and resubmit it with the changes, I think it would go a lot better. --ZsL 07:20, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
  8. Kill - For the simple reason that the author is telling me not to. Do not attempt to influence voting through anything but the quality of your suggestion. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 13:50, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
  9. Kill - Would make even ore newbies annoyed, and is very imbalanced, as the bite attack is very powerful. NB Iscariot you are very harsh and *Static* --Angusburger 21:15, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - Kevan has already said he it considering something like this, there's no need for the suggestion.--Karekmaps?! 10:51, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
  2. Incomplete - You don't even say what you want the new skill to be called. Also, were this to be implemented, I'd prefer it as a change to game mechanics and not a new skill. --William Told 20:13, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
  3. Spam - As Herr Karek.  Billy Club Thorton  T!  RR  05:27, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
