Talk:Malton Postal Service

Dulston Tourism Board

While I have no doubt Penny Heights is a fine suburb, I don't believe that the Hazeldine Museum has the proper facilities to support your group's postal service needs. You may wish instead to reconsider a more suitable location, such as the Pilton Building here in Dulston. Known for being the farthest northeast suburb among the four suburbs which together form the colorfully named NE Corner, survivors here in Dulston would cherish the idea of regular postal service, especially between members of the Dulston Alliance and Treweeke Mall. Should you require further information please feel free to contact one of the suburb's representatives, noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher. It is our hope that Dulston will continue to improve as one of Malton's safest suburbs (in UD), and most attractive (in the UD Wiki). --Mobius187 February 12 2007, 8:05 PM (EST).

Red Army

Greetings steadfast postal workers. Nice group site. Here is hoping you are not harrassed by zombie dogs. Could have nasty consequences, zombie dog-bites...

I am mailing from a small but cheerful barricading group. Care to form an alliance? --GrownUpSurvivor 18:17, 29 December 2006 (UTC) Red Army

WTF?

What happened to the main page? Was it deleted? Jenny D'ArcT MPS 12:34, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Congratulations!

But come now, a factory?

I must confess I am a little dismayed that you would choose such an unassuming location as a burned out factory for such a noble cause. Perhaps you have been watching too many Kevin Costner movies. And after we refurbished the museum lobby for your use as an office and even acquired some guard dogs from the police department! Surely you'll reconsider.

I have to say that I think this idea is brilliant. I hope you guys can get a nice sized group going. ^^ An idea for some RP ideas, if the players ever get bored. People in Malton could start randomly getting pen pals and such. Not sure how you'd go about doing that....maybe send a letter out to a survivor, get a response, and then bring the letter back to the post station for "Mailing". Well, I dunno...just an idea. --SirensT RR 20:07, 3 September 2006 (BST)

Employment Application

I have been working on that further training we discussed, and would like to apply for a position within the Postal Service.

I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Jenny D'ArcT 14:06, 9 July 2006 (BST)

I would like to apply for service with the MPS also. I attempted to apply with the previous postmaster General, but never heard back. hamradiodude 00:21, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm so sorry, Radio Dude. You are definitely a valuable employee! At the moment we need (obviously) an active management staff to spearhead recruitment, and we need a viable HQ. Are you up for the position? Have any preferred job title? Welcome aboard! Jenny D'ArcT MPS 22:39, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Logo Ideas

Would any of these make a nice logo?

(Deleted first 3 ideas)

I'm more than willing to play around with them, but my artistic skills aren't something to write home about... Jenny D'ArcT 15:51, 11 July 2006 (BST)

I like #3 best as well, but maybe it could be a little bloodier? (But I like the darker, more splattery blood of this one more than the blood on #2) --Bake Hayes 14:23, 13 July 2006 (BST)
I'll see what I can do. Jenny D'ArcT 15:18, 13 July 2006 (BST)

Here's one option. Or I could try a different 'stamp' color, and use the blood smear as a cancellation.... Jenny D'ArcT 17:00, 13 July 2006 (BST)

There was already a problem with someone going postal a lil' while back. From my talk with the creator of this group, the Malton Postal Service has nothing to do with PKing. So something less conspicuous as a blood stained letter would be preferable, particularly with the association the US has with postal workers and going-nuts-and-killing-everyone. –Xoid STFU! 16:51, 15 July 2006 (BST)
I'm pretty sure the PK group is Former Malton Postal Workers Union. The blood stain idea is more to represent that everything in Malton is blood stained at this point (and I'm not sure that Malton is in the US, anyway). I'm trying to come up with a postal insignia which maintains the UD Look and feel... Maybe the grasping hand in the A can become the stamp instead... I'll play around with that. I liked the idea of a cancelled-with-blood logo, but Xoid has a point about avoiding associations with the FMPWU. The last example, with the UD hand logo as the stamp looks cool. I vote for that. --Bake Hayes 19:09, 15 July 2006 (BST)

How about this? EDIT - oops! forgot to sign. Jenny D'ArcT MPS 17:24, 17 July 2006 (BST)

Anyone have any feedback on the MPS_Member template? Jenny D'ArcT MPS 15:23, 8 August 2006 (BST)

Sorry not to have responded earlier. I like it (and added it to my user page shortly after you first posted it). On my monitor, the edging of the stamp is pretty much invisible, though. If you could darken that up, that's be great. BTW, how's business. I've been staying busy in SW Malton. --Bake Hayes 03:12, 13 August 2006 (BST) (oops, forgot to sign)
OK, good. I'll see if I can get around to playing with the edging (my monitor sucks, so I'll have to borrow someone else's computer...) Things are going pretty well, finally leaving Ketchelbank to explore a bit. Jenny D'ArcT MPS 14:55, 19 August 2006 (BST)

I've asked the moderators to un-delete the old MPS article. If they don't, I guess we just start from scratch. Either way, your image makes a terrific splash panel! Jenny D'ArcT MPS 23:04, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Phone Mast status report

If you time, can we get you to update http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Mobile_Phone_Mast#Locations with the current status of your local phone mast? Thanks. Asheets 20:13, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Malton Postal Service Presence in Santlerville

On a similar theme to above, the Mobile Phone Mast Locations and Status page says that you have a post processing branch at Heckworthy Towers in the suburb of Santlerville. Are you still maintaining this building (and the phone mast inside)?

Special Branch

The main page is a little vague about what the "Special Branch" is. Maybe you should add more specifics.--Pharo2i2 13:33, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Hamradiodude, communications director?

I just noticed that one of my alts has been promoted. That's cool -- much better than making the Wall of Shame on the trenchcoaters page. Anything in particular you want me to do? Asheets 21:14, 10 September 2008 (BST)

A visit from a Butthole Surfer

Just dropping by with my drug sniffing dog, Lonesome Bulldog. There's not any weed in any of these parcels, is there? I'd have to confiscate it. --Tex Tripppen BHS 20:19, 14 September 2008 (BST)
