Anaconda: The Original Fortress Combat Team

Anaconda3.png

Nickname - The Condas

The Origin of Anaconda

When Fortress Four - the original Fortress - was finally secured in September 2005, The Ears organised a roaming squad to explore the nearby suburbs and report back its findings. He didn't realise at the time that this brave squad of vigilant crusaders, including legends Jensonson, Fet, Fishel and LePaige, and led by Bensonson, would form the initial Anaconda combat team. Three years later and the team is unrecognisable from its humble early days. Anaconda, named for being team 'A' of The Fortress, is a considerable force to be reckoned with.

The History of Anaconda

Commander Bensonson led the Condas for a remarkable 78 days before it was finally revealed that Jensonson - his older brother - was in fact the mysterious force behind The Fortress itself. Then, as Battlehawk and Cold Cell were launched, Commander and Fortress Legend DeathAxe took up the reigns and led them for a tremendous 140 days. DeathAxe set the standard for the group - he was solid, consistant and demanded regular activity and reporting - Condas played things by the book - and in many ways they wrote the book. Reporting styles, group tactics, teamwork and many other innovations were developed by Anaconda. Jensonson and Danny Lee led the Condas solidly for many more months and the squad was set with rigid discipline and procedures - ready for the innovation of Legend, Tommy Crowbar. The 400+ day reign of Commander Crowbar pushed Anaconda to new heights as he modernized Fortress combat work in Malton. Crowbar’s LT, Miss Elainious, rose to command the team next, and was one of the most loved and respected leaders of all time. After leading Anaconda to a Best Team of 2008 award, Miss E felt it was time to step down, and handed the reins to Charlie mon, a Havoc Lord with plenty of command experience. Under Commander Charlie, Anaconda helped Malton’s survivors regain their confidence after a dark and difficult time in the city.

The Identity of Anaconda Anaconda has had a solid and noble history and led the way in innovation and standards. Condas are serious about their daily work and love to be challenged. Anaconda’s goals are not accomplished by individual efforts, but rather by collective efforts: the team working as one, strong, singular force. To be an Anaconda is a stamp of approved quality.

The Style of Anaconda

  • Challenging operations
  • AP efficient
  • MSN use common
  • Real Time Operations

Current leadership expectations and style

Commander Lucy Daniels - Young and passionate solider with a deep sense of pride in her team. Commander Daniels sees that Anaconda exploits every AP in order to gain the advantage, especially when outnumbered. Frequently organizes real-time strikes with MSN coordination. Expects exceptional results, but likes to see her troops having fun above anything else.

Anaconda's Greatest Moments

2009 Operations

Grandprixtag.gif

  • Operation: GRAND PRIX Sept 2 - Sept 18, 2009

Feeling a need for speed, Tommy Crowbar and Miss Elainious rejoined Team Anaconda for their GRAND PRIX race around Malton! Everyone pulled up to the starting line at F4 -- revving engines and talking smack -- then the green flag waved and they were off!

Right off, Beats and Spray had some car trouble, and the Brigadier's Lamborghini kept being mysteriously vandalized.... However, Spray and TC quickly found shortcuts in the course and made up their time. Meanwhile, Red and Tiago were battling hard in the corners, but Tiago slowly gained the advantage in the straightaways. With Spray also moving up in the standings, TC, Miss E, and Lucy resorted to a friendly game of bumper cars.

Back at Checkpoint 2, Beats finished removing all the sugar which somehow had materialized in his gas tank, and took off with blazing speed! He caught up with the pack, at one point threatening to overtake Miss E, but by then it was too late. Tiago sped across the finish line at F3 to nab 1st place, followed shortly by Spray in 2nd. Red was having trouble cleaning zombie blood off his windshield, narrowly falling to 6th as Miss E, Lucy, and the Brig passed him on the last lap to take 3rd, 4th, and 5th, respectively. Beats finished in 7th, but with better luck next time, he'll give Tiago a run for his money!

Tartan.png

  • Operation: The 56th Suburb Aug 12 - Aug 30, 2009

Understandably eager to help our kilt-less buddy, Samuel L Jackson, Anaconda headed up to Stanbury Village. The team quickly got to work, working together with the Kilt Store employees to get their famous tartan wares back on the shelves. The RRF got word of what we don't wear beneath the kilt and shambled into town to see for themselves. Anaconda had come for the kilts, but stayed on a few days longer than expected to pick up some assassinations as well -- after all, they were having a 2-for-1 special sale at Nichols Mall!

  • Operation: Counter Strike July 29 - Aug 9, 2009

In an effort to support the recovery of devastated F4, Anaconda turned its attention to Mockridge Heights. It was believed that once survivors regained their foothold in the surrounding area, recovery for F4 would be much easier. Providing plenty of revives and building reconstruction, the team quickly got the suburb back up to code. The focus was then turned to Galbraith Hills, which was also vastly improved by the Condas. Sure enough, F4's recovery team was successful, due in large part to Anaconda's hard work.

  • Operation: Snake Eyes July 15 - July 27, 2009

Continuing their quest to clean up Southeast Malton, Anaconda moved into Hollomstown. The team was in the mood for some friendly competition, so they split up into two squads: TEAM COBRA and TEAM VIPER.

Viper jumped out to an early lead, but Cobra was not far behind. The score was close the entire time, with Viper clinging to their slim lead for over a week. Both squads were so diligent in their tasks that Hollomstown was recovered -- with 5 whole days left in the operation! Unfazed, the squads moved into neighboring East Grayside. Team Cobra set upon the revive points, overtaking Team Viper with 24 hours left in the contest. Viper made it interesting with a big 61-point repair only hours before the deadline, but Cobra hung on to win a nail-biter: 1343-1309!

Transformersbadge.png

  • Operation: TRANSFORMERS June 16 - July 10, 2009

Forging ahead into the dark and desolate southeast, Anaconda found itself in an unenviable position. Building after building had fallen into ruin and repair costs on even the smallest buildings were climbing.

Without their Commander or Lieutenant, the situation looked bleak, but in a time of crisis, the team stepped up and fought through insurmountable odds. Slowly but surely, the Fortress brought Osmondville up to code. Pennville quickly followed. In the end, an evil remained entrenched at Blesley Mall, but thanks to Anaconda, survivors have regained a foothold in the southeastern suburbs!

Apocalypse tag.png

  • Operation: Apocalypse Now May 13 - June 3, 2009

Following the greatest Chain Kill in team history, Anaconda moved out to the western edge of the quarantine. The border had been steamrolled by the Militant Order of Barhah. Anaconda easily recovered the sparsely-developed Peddlesen Village, single-handedly upgrading its danger status twice in only a few days.

Dunell Hills proved to be a much more difficult challenge, as the majority of the suburb had been abandoned by survivors... We met up with several of our allies from the DHPD, the only remaining group, but even together we struggled to get a foothold within the burb. Eventually, the teams began sweeping between Owsleybank and Peddlesden, repairing what we could and clearing the revive queues.

With repair costs creeping upward, Anaconda found a perfect opportunity to perform the first ever Silent Sentinel ABA, recovering Tooze Bank for 131AP and bravely defending it for several days. After making repair-cost history, we finished up what we could, and moved out to restock before joining Team Dark Watch in Havercroft.

Chasing tag.png

  • Operation: Chasing Zeds April 17 - May 13, 2009

After voting for Caiger Mall as the next target, Anaconda approached the legendary shopping center from the south, first doing some much needed repairing and cading along the West/East Becktown border. Once the team arrived at the mall, we assisted in repelling a few attacks before the ravenous horde finally broke inside and destroyed everything.

Not easily discouraged, Anaconda mobilized quickly to revive the fallen and provide safehouses. Within a few days, Caiger was in survivor hands once again and defenders began pouring in. The horde outside the SE corner grew again to above 50, with nearly 50 more dead bodies littering the streets... but mid-OP, our brothers and sisters in Battlehawk made their rendezvous with us. Together, we Bikini-Chain-Killed an incredible 60 zeds, essentially clearing all standing zombies and giving the Caiger survivors a rare victory!

Mzmoles.png

  • Operation: Mutant Zombie Moles March 30 - April 17, 2009

The team marched northwest into Molebank to finally meet our friends in 10 Minutes from Hell and escape the weird going-ons in Shore Hills... we'd been warned about the strange mutant zombie moles that inhabit the suburb (most likely due to the high number of NT buildings there)... but the nasty smell that greeted us at the edge of Molebank reeked of zerger - a much more disgusting scent than any undead, deformed rodent could produce. Thus, we met our buddies, drank some beers, reset a chunk of repair costs, and got the hell outta dodge. Fresh air was just around the corner...

13tag.png

  • Operation: Friday the 13th March 13 - March 26, 2009

Looking for a little friendly competition, Anaconda ventured into Shore Hills and Lerwill Heights to battle against some pretty unusual circumstances... here were the results:
Most Kills: Beatlepuss (11) Most Deaths: Beatlepuss & ieatflesh01 (3) Least Deaths: Mondie & Spacepirat92 (0) Most Revives: Mondie (16) Most Heals: Mondie (55) Most Cades: Tiago Ferreira (49) Most AP Spent on Repairs: Lucy Daniels (250) Most Gennies Dropped/Fueled: Corpus Currit (8)
Special thanks goes to ieatflesh01, for volunteering to be our official scorekeeper!

Snakes fort.png

  • Operation: Snakes in a Fort February 19 - March 08, 2009

Anaconda provided revives and repairs for northern Whittenside. In an effort to distract the plethora of zeds swaying within a ruined Fort Perryn, the team successfully allowed our allies to move in and recover the fort. A fierce battle raged for days, fueled by Anaconda revives and the occasional timely headshot. In the end, the fort fell once again, but not before our team had flexed its massive reviving muscles and made a good first impression on our new friends at the Malton Urban Militia.

Vaca2.png

  • Operation: Leisure Rules February 1 - February 19, 2009

After Operation: Red Mist, Acting CO Lucy decided that we needed a vacation. She told us to wrap up what we were doing, stock up and be prepared to move out. It turned out that we were going to be taking a tour of southwest Malton. We worked out way through Osmondville, Pennville/Whittenside, with a brief tour of Whittenside, Fryerbank, and Penny Heights. As the "vacation" progressed, found that it wasn't as much a vacation as it was just another full operation. We fought long and hard in the various burbs, though stopping at F2 for some poker and drinks. As the operation was winding down, we received news that shocked us all.

Our beloved CO, Charlie Mon was stepping down. His RL had to take priority, and he felt that he couldn't give Team Anaconda the attention it deserved. EVERYONE deeply respected our Commanding Officer for having the courage and foresight to step down when it was necessary.

The council decided that LT Lucy would be our new CO, and upon her confirmation, she promoted Couponballer to be her LT. With Anaconda's rank structure back in place, and Operation Leisure Rules complete, we were ready to proceed to our next challenge.

Redmistha5.png

  • Operation: Red Mist January 1 - February 1, 2009

After the festivities were done, Anaconda needed a challenge. Heading up to zed infested Barrville, we got just that. After a couple of weeks of intense fighting, we were able to turn the suburb from RED to GREEN. Leaving us no time to bask in the glow of a job well done, we headed down to Blesley Mall to help in the defense there.

After a furious back and forth battle with the RRF, the mall was eventually secured for the survivors. It was at this point in the operation that Tiago Ferreira got his "Heavens Touch" ABA. After the Mall battle we headed to Scarletwood to aid the Garniss Border Patrol. By the end of the operation, the GBP were all standing and their HQ was EHB with a generator. With challenges about, the Anacondas once again proved that regardless of the job, we could handle anything!

The Commanders of Anaconda

  • Commander Charlie mon (HL) 13 Nov 2008 - 30 Jan 2009 (79 days)

Coming in with 221 command days under his belt, Charlie mon once again heeded the call of duty when Anaconda needed a new leader. It was his fourth stint as a Commander, indeed a Fortress record, having also led Cold Cell, Fortress Four, and Dark Watch. Anaconda fought bravely under Commander Charlie, prevailing in Operation: Vigilant Fortress and returning some hope to the survivors of Malton. He led the team for 79 days, but like a true leader, nobly resigned when he could no longer commit the time he felt his team deserved. Luckily for Anaconda, Charlie agreed to stay on to continue serving as a veteran Havoc Lord.

  • Legendary Commander Miss Elainious (VL) 30 May 2008 - 13 Nov 2008 (167 days)

This brilliant young woman spent an amazing 167 days as the exceptional Commander of Team Anaconda. During this time she led the team to a win of Best Team of 2008 and Best Commander of 2008. Elaine moved quickly through boot camp and made her mark upon the unsuspecting organization with humor and fun loving antics. Not only was she successful within her own battle group at raising the level of fun but also within the tavern. Bright, witty, beautiful and clever she has on more than one occasion left us laughing not only at our own cost but often at hers as well. Her borderline insubordinate pranks are a plague and a blessing at the same time to any who may have the privilege to be her supervisor. Vigilance Overlord Miss Elainious is also a forum administrator, station manager of “Boom” The Fortress radio station, was elected Councillor in October 2007 and again in November 2008, an exceptional real time operational coordinator, an ambassador and became Commander of Team Anaconda in May 2008. A Fortress Legend, her influence continues have its impact on us daily.

  • Commander (Brigidier) Tommy Crowbar (VL) 14 Mar 2007 - May 20 2008 (432 days)

A dazzling career with The Fortress, as he blitzed Boot Camp then became an excellent Anaconda combat squad member before rising quickly to the top and becoming Commander of not one but two teams simultaneously earning the title of Fortress Legend. Crowbar is currently the Fortress Brigadier, forum administrator and Council Member. His operations made change in Malton and he made Team Anaconda a force to be reckoned with. Team Anaconda has produced 3 Councilors, at least 4 commanders and countless Moderators among many other legends under the command of Tommy Crowbar. Described by Jensonson as the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be.

  • Commander Daniel181 2 Feb 2007 - 13 Mar 2007 (39 days)

Havoc Knight. Ex Lt and Commander of Team Anaconda following a long and illustrious career in the ranks. Famous for winning the most awkward moment FAFTA Award at the Fortress Party for a sneaky pic we have of him in a dress. Owner of 13/15 ABA's, Ambassador, Forum Moderator and Member of the Council. Escaped Malton in late 2007 but recently returned to Anaconda to "kick some zombie butt, Conda style!".

  • Commander Danny Lee 28 Sep 2006 - 27 Jan 2007 (121 days)

Ambitious and dedicated personality that attempted to build his own group before settling into a Fortress career and ultimately becoming Commander of Team Anaconda. Energetic two-time Council member, Fortress Finest, Ambassador of FANNY and Former Chief Editor and creator of The Fortress News. After retiring briefly Danny Lee is a respected member of the Combat Veterans and is busy chronicling the experiences of Fortress survivors in Malton.

  • Commander Shrimper 13 Sep - 22 Sep 2006 (9 days)

Opinionated, intelligent and hysterical. Not many members can be defined in that way, but Shrimper is unique. Superb Elite member of Battlehawk before excelling as Commander of his team. Popular Councillor, Commander and friend. Became the first Fortress Two Commander in Jan 07. His offbeat comments and sharp wit as well as his insightful input has made him one of the most beloved of Fotress members. A modern Fortress Legend.

  • Commander Jensonson 8 Jun - 13 Sep 2006 (97 days)

Founder and Head of The Fortress. With the help of his original Shadows, and then essentially a group of newly enlisted members, molded the faction into the shape it is in today. His sense of fair play and honour has made him a beloved Fortress character and a favourite citizen of Malton. Stay Vigilant!

  • Commander DeathAxe 20 Jan 2006 - 8 Jun 2006 (140 days)

As loyal and reliable as they come. Made Fortress Finest in Apr 06, then Veteran, then Legend. Commander of Team Anaconda for a spectacular 140 days. Returned to The Fortress as PK Executioner in Dec 06. Rejoined team Anaconda in May 07 but left later in the Summer.

  • Commander Connor Belmont 26 Dec 2005 - 5 Jan 2006 (11 days)

Predicted to become a legend, Belmont took command of Anaconda and was famed for his reports and thoroughness, then one day he disappeared entirely. After having been long feared dead, he reappeared in April 2007 and rejoined his old team. After a second, very active spell in Anaconda, Belmont mysteriously disappeared again. Believed to be dead, but after last time - who knows?

  • Commander LePaige 1 Dec 2005 - 26 Dec 2005 (26 days)

One of the original Shadows, LePaige has achieved in the role of Commander, Warlord and Shadow Hunter. Saved lives during the evacuation of Fortress Four before leading its recapture in March 2006. Possibly the most infamous character in The Fortress, his legacy spreads beyond Malton.

  • Commander Bensonson 15 Sep 2005 - 1 Dec 2005 (78 days)

Loyal brother of The Head. First Fortress Commander back when there was only one team, Team Fortress. First and best Fortress Warlord. And famously set up the first phone mast in RRF occupied Ridleybank without them flinching. Excelling as the Shackleville Power Technician in early 2007, and later became Second Drill Sergeant of Boot Camp in June. A legend in his own right.
