This page is for the election of Bureaucrats.

Rules

Rules for starting an election.

  1. When a Bureaucrat resigns, or loses his status due to demotion or inactivity an election is started immediately.
    • A Bureaucrat that hasn't made a single edit in one month is considered as inactive and forfeits his status as bureaucrat.
  2. After 3 months with no elections on a bureaucrat position, an election is called for the bureaucrat position longest without an election.
  3. If, for any reason, an individual Bureaucrat position hasn't faced an election after 12 months, then an election is called after that period.
  4. The election ends after two weeks wiki time counting from the when the election is started.
  5. The candidate with the most votes wins the election.
  6. In the event of a tied vote the remaining bureaucrats will decide between the tied candidates.

Rules concerning candidates

  1. All active users with the sysops status are automatically declared candidates for any vacant Bureaucrat positions.
    • Users with at least 12 edits in the 30 days before the election are considered "active" for purposes of the election.
  2. The Bureaucrat whose position comes up for election if said election is started under rule 2 of Rules for starting an election is automatically declared a candidate.
  3. A candidate can retract his own candidacy at any time.

Rules concerning voting.

  1. All users have only one vote per bureaucrat position to be filled.
  2. Users vote for a candidate by signing under the preferred candidates name.
  3. Users may change their votes for a candidate as long as the election has not ended.
    • Multiple votes at the same time will be struck.
  4. Sockpuppetry is considered vandalism.

Election Space

A new round of bureaucrat elections is called due to The Grimch's demotion and self ban.

This election will run for the standard two week period and will end at 10:30am (GMT) on Thursday 23rd October 2008. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 11:39, 9 October 2008 (BST)

Conndraka

Grim s

  1. Surprise Yes Providing he does implement the reforms he promised and then step dow he gets my vote... However This support is conditional on his a) keeping the promise and b) Not interfering in the very recent and valid promotion of the last Crat (AHLG)--Honestmistake 15:33, 9 October 2008 (BST)
One need not be a bureaucrat -- nor even a sysop -- to draft and advocate for the policy changes that Grim was planning. Moreover, he stated his intent not simply to propose them, but to enact them without so much as a facade of community input. And he demoted Gnome along with everyone else, didn't he? -- Atticus Rex mfu pif Δ 17:13, 9 October 2008 (BST)
  2. On the grounds that the demotion was a farce. Seriously, it's a very harsh punishment.--Drawde Talk To Me! DORIS Red Rum Defend Ridleybonk! I know Nothing! 15:34, 9 October 2008 (BST)
He demoted all the Administrators and forced the owner of the game to demote him.....--CyberRead240 15:37, 9 October 2008 (BST)
I would have voted for him if he hadn't done that. - User:Whitehouse 15:51, 9 October 2008 (BST)
YES Withdrawn due to Grim's tantrum. No need to promote petulant children. --Stephen Colbert DFA 17:01, 9 October 2008 (BST)
  3. Yes - In Soviet Malton, elections follow coups. I remind you of one of the votes that got Grim elected last time. "[He is] Not afraid to be a dick." Well, sometimes what this Wiki needs is a good deep dicking, and Grim appears ready to give it. -- Galaxy125 19:59, 9 October 2008 (BST)
Yeah, I figured you'd be in favour of a nice dicking. --HAHAHA DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK COCKS 20:19, 9 October 2008 (BST)
  4. Yes - That was one impressive tirade. --JaredV 20:43, 9 October 2008 (BST)
You do realise he demoted the entire sysop team, then had it all reversed by Kevan and then banned himself? -- Cheese 20:45, 9 October 2008 (BST)
