Me or you? I come back for all of five edits, got under your skin, created a stink your still bitching about a total of 15 or so days later, essientially created a fictious arby, in the hopes that someone would take it more seriously than I ever did, only so I could refuse to take part, and all so that I could piss in your cheerios,... but the joke was on me...  I see how that works. -{{User:Poodle of doom/sig4}} 06:10, 16 October 2011 (BST)

==Re: nation library edit:==

== Well hello thar ==
Good Morning,
Thank you for the information and understanding. It's been years since I used this site.
I have made the accurate correction this time. Nation is up. Looking at it right now.
Also, the Danger Report notification at the top of the edit box does specify it is to be NPOV,
I was trying to help that person, but went about it wrong. I will do better.
I'm sure the usual problem makers will try to tie me to their enemy, but the fact is I was just trying to keep things as accurate as possible. Time for some people to grow up and learn this is not their game, nor their site, and we're all just guests of the creator.
Take care.  {{User:Neutral objector}} 04:30, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

==can't make headers, cant indent==
Even if I had actually been the one to make the edit in question, A/V policy is to contact the user and try to work it out with them <b>before</b> aggressively filing a report to get them punished, to promote good faith and newbie-friendliness in the community. I note that my talk page is still nonexistent. If you had left me a message instead of rushing to A/V, perhaps we could have worked out some of the smaller details like "I have never edited the page you accused me of vandalizing." --[[User:Envious|Ɛňvϊoцᵴ]] ([[User talk:Envious|talk]]) 16:21, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
I have explanation in the discussion, and this is fact, not opinion. If you have someone with better than I understand to let someone else do it or I can't say it at least, but if you have the Red Rum statistic there you are showing proof for a guild, I am only showing proof for a player instead. But the proof is still there  --[[User:Krazyxman|Krazyxman]] 01:50, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
:I had a brain fart making a report about the wrong account, apologies there. I copied the most recent A/VB report over while on the run and somehow didn't remember to change it to the actual accused. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 22:03, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
:You're ''that guy''? I don't see any subtantial proof at all. You're willing to tell me that proof of 11 screenshots is worth calling yourself the piñata king? I would highly suggest getting more proof before making this claim because at this stage, like on the talk page, I really think this will end up with your claim being refuted and you being laughed off the case {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig}} 01:58, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

::Again, I have done 35 more than that already, but without screenshots, the rest of the new ones I have screenshots for, so if someone else has more, then I will agree with your judgement, but if no one else has more then making the judgement is wrong from you --[[User:Krazyxman|Krazyxman]] 02:02, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

was there any discussion about it on the wiki ? --<small>[[User:Hagnat|hagnat]]</small> 14:45, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
:Not that I'm aware of. It's on Kevan, so our lack of discussion here on the wiki is not really surprising. Frankly, given that he cut off payments from UK customers to comply with updated business regulations a few years back, I was half expecting that the wiki and game might suddenly shut down so that he wouldn't have to worry about any potential GDPR compliance issues, but that hasn't happened (yet). {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 17:06, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
:No. I'm not really the person to discuss the GDPR thing. I honestly don't really know much about it at all, so if anyone else wants to chime in with thoughts, please do. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 03:47, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

::::::::but they are not drunken rants.. so they just don't count as much.--{{User:Sexualharrison/sig}}<small>16:11, 12 July 2012 </small>
:::::::But DDR you don't see that those text walls pale in comparison to the ones that you were once famous for (or so I am told as I was not present to witness them first hand). About that, you are wrong. Allow me to explain. 1. The text walls that we have today are not anywhere near as impressive because they do not have the power and expertise as the ones that you (and all those who came before you that also had a phenomenal penchant for text walls (such as Grim s, Akule) used to express and so they do not carry the same effect. They are just lots and lots of words, they are not a text wall. In effect, they are text bricks, all lying together, but they have not been cemented together by the pure intent of the text-waller and so they do not form a text wall but merely a series of text bricks placed atop one another. Therefore, the current text walls are not even slightly comparable to the text walls of old. I've already explained enough why you are WRONG but I'll continue to do so, because there are plenty more reasons. 2. Text walls are defined on websters' online dictionary as being "large spaces of text masterfully crafted such that they cause confusion and disinterest by putting off any such person as would want to view them". For many reasons, the text walls that have recently graced the wiki do not meet that definition. Firstly, the word "large" does not necessarily apply to the current ''walls''. Websters' online dictionary defines "large" as "big, somewhat large, colossal". None of these words apply to the small and lacking walls that we see nowadays. Frankly, these are just disgraceful and do not fit the definition of "large". Furthermore, there is no mastery to the crafting of these text walls. They are just made calmly and reasonably, completely forsaking the purpose of the text wall. Text walls exist, not to rationally and slowly outline a lot of detailed points, but to push so much "fact" and data at your enemy at once that they cannot respond within a few minutes and so you take your moral pleasure in your "destruction" of them and their points. The modern text walls simply try to make points logically and sensibly. They are not truly text walls for this reason. 3. Are you really reading this? I'd imagine the joke has grown quite stale by this point. Ah well, I'll continue anyway. 4. Text walls on the wiki today are incomplete because there is no true "drama" to fuel them - they are simply angry posts about nothing, and although some of the best text walls are over trivial issues, the waller themselves must be convinced of the importance of what they are text screaming about. On the modern wiki, where there is little drama to be had, can we really call anything a text wall? For all of these reasons I have made a solid and concrete case as to why you are wrong, backed up by screenshots, facts, national statistics from the government and also by the law of Norway and several east Asian states. For this reason I feel comfortable saying that you have no business saying what you are saying. Ha! --[[User:Shortround|<span style="color:Black">Short</span>]][[User talk:Shortround|<span style="color: Black">round</span>]] }.{ [[Special:Contributions/Shortround|<span style="color:Black">My Contributions</span>]] 17:00, 12 July 2012 (BST) {{like|2}}

:I'm interested to hear what you think- I saw those and interpreted it as the same user coming back under a new account (perhaps they forgot their old password) and just reclaiming their old projects, which isn't uncommon. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/tcs}} 22:53, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
::Particularly because all they've done on that group page is do a couple of small spelling fixes, etc. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/tcs}} 22:54, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
:::Ok, and that is fine reasoning; however, Pyropardus blanked user Pardus's page and erased quite a bit of data off of two other pages.  Now compare that to user Igotmadenoughtomakeanewaccount, who was warned for making edits to user Shaqfu's page.  There was some back and forth so it was apparent that Shaqfu didn't want the edit to his page.  The edits were the addition of two templates, one of which called user A Helpful Little Gnome a "five alarm fuckwit".  That appeared to draw user A Helpful Little Gnome into creating a V/B case against user Igotmadenoughtomakeanewaccount.

:::::Sure. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/tcs}} 05:52, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
:::::So just to put my 2c in now the case is done is I'm pleased you bought the case forward because it can be better to be safe than sorry, and I'm cool with that, although I consider the precedent you seem wary of to simply be "assuming good faith", which is the vibe I got from the whole situation (luckily I was right, though I could have easily been wrong and looked like a tit). Nothing wrong with escalating an issue because no one else has brought anything up because of assumptions. I think you did the right thing. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/tcs}} 16:37, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
::::::Yeah, I was wary for that above reason, plus I think pardus was one of the free speech for all people we were arguing with on discord.  I wanted to make the issue known before when I first noticed it, but I wanted to wait to see of there were anymore edits.  It did get some humorous stuff going when bob and pyropadus started edit warring.  --{{User:Gardenator/sig}} 16:53, 18 August 2018 (UTC)

[http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php?title=UDWiki:Administration/Re-Evaluations&curid=136163&diff=2028468&oldid=2028444 Even though I probably shouldn't have] I felt it was worth addressing somewhat since it is a review and negative ones in the correct light can be useful. I do think it's disingenuous of you to accuse me of actually lying when in most of our precedent related discussions the precedent I've sited in response to the precedent you've sited was core precedent or cases where the precedent that later changed was initially developed for a particular purpose that was no longer being served. I'll own up to coming off as abrasive but, I'll also point out that frequently you come off as manipulative and willing to ignore things that don't seem to suit your point. Particularly in cases where you probably don't have all of the information but aren't willing to discuss or acknowledge that fact.  --<small>[[User:Karek#K|Karek]]<font face="Monotype Corsiva">[[User:Karek/ProjDev#Buildings_Update_Danger_Maps|maps 2.0?!]]</font></small> 05:00, 19 September 2012 (BST)
I appreciate your help, DDR. Since you are knowledgeable about signatures, perhaps you could point me to a link that shows/explains how to take a descriptive two-line string of code that delineates a signature ("font-family", etc.) and turns it into the compact form such as your <nowiki>[[User:DDR|DDR]]</nowiki>. I want to be able to turn the strings of descriptors in mine to the compact version of [[Catherine Cushing|Lizzie Donner]]. I made up a signature for each alt and put them on the bottom of my homepage, User: Catherine Cushing. I feel like the code isn't written up properly somehow. Maybe that's because I don't understand any of it (just filched it from other peoples' pages.)
:I don't mind you being abrasive, as long as you can handle my butthurt treating you like an arsehole at times, which you seem to be able to do well. But regarding your opinion of me, again, you've supplied no evidence of me doing this. If you could supply links to instances where I've behaved like this then I'm much more likely to learn from them. Otherwise I most likely won't remember (and don't as it turns out).
:And I definitely think you should have responded. Whether I'm right or wrong, I've made a big claim and if you think they are wrong you should definitely not beat around the bush. Also for clarification the links provided aren't some "holy grail of ownage" I've been hiding for ages, I just have a long memory and looked for them quickly when I found out your A/RE was on (I didn't know it was even coming). I wanted some proof of the instances I claimed existed (for example with my A/RE, it's not your against that ticked me off, it was the fact you hadn't supplied some evidence I could look at and assess) because right or wrong it's bound to give you a reflection. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 05:10, 19 September 2012 (BST)
::I don't think of them as particularly long. They're incidents that come to mind of negative interaction between you and myself. Humour surprised me since you actually seemed to understand after that discussion that there was no motive behind the note on previous related iterations of the page. I'm more surprised that stupid IRC drama where I blew up on you over the moronic ud-wiki udwiki channel thing didn't come up but I certainly wasn't a sysop then nor did I spend any time on UD anything really. I could probably spend time trying to find that evidence in relation to that A/RE but at this point in time I don't think it'd be relevant to your current behavior or future behavior as more recent stuff would reflect that. It'd be like me drudging up the old userpage redirect nonsense for something not directly about specifically the history of that, it'd just seem petty and wouldn't really serve a point in illustrating your character. --<small>[[User:Karek#K|Karek]]<font face="Monotype Corsiva">[[User:Karek/ProjDev#Buildings_Update_Danger_Maps|maps 2.0?!]]</font></small> 05:18, 19 September 2012 (BST)
:::Yeah. I wasn't planning on putting in the humour thing but I'd just finished typing stuff and thought I might look it up just for memories sake and when I did, I looked back in the past for the first time (I'd taken your word for it that what you'd said was true) and was surprised to see that it hadn't been the case at all, by the looks of it. So I threw it in because again, these links don't reflect personal or specific issues, just the only evidence I sought for to reflect my opinion. So it had to do. And FTR I hold no qualms about the #udwiki debacle, you were about the most unbiased person in that whole shitfight, from either side. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 05:32, 19 September 2012 (BST)
::::Also I've made a final concluding response on a/re. You can have final statement. I only intended to put out my opinion on your approach to the job and have it judged based on its merits and that's it. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 05:32, 19 September 2012 (BST)
:::::Categories are one of those things that are functionally hard to document changes in because they're tens to hundreds of separate edits, not singular move or delete actions. I don't need or want the final statement. I've said all I wanted to say there and here and never really have been one to make the case for myself. --<small>[[User:Karek#K|Karek]]<font face="Monotype Corsiva">[[User:Karek/ProjDev#Buildings_Update_Danger_Maps|maps 2.0?!]]</font></small> 05:51, 19 September 2012 (BST)

Since I wrote that I did find a place that I think explains how to make a nice signature properly. It is: https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_intro.asp

Personally, as one of the few people that wasn't involved with this until it exploded (seriously, I have no horse in this race), I can say that in reading through the old discussion, it did not come across that you were objecting to Karek's changes. In fact, I thought the opposite. That said, clearly you intended for it to come across differently, and now you are, quite understandably, upset. That's fine, but it's all in the past. Though I do disagree with some of what you've said, I'm done arguing with you about issues of what complaints were made and when, or who objected to what. It's unproductive for either of us to continue in them. From here on, I'm just looking at the discussions that will move us towards a resolution. Fair? {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 03:00, 21 October 2012 (BST)
Have some fun in London. I haven't been there in 18 months (I'm in Oregon, above the Pacific in the USA.) It was August and the weather in Whitby was perfection. {{unsigned|Catherine Cushing}}I forgot; sorry.[[User:Catherine Cushing|<span style="font-family:Goudy Old Style;color:#008080;font-size:small">Catherine Cushing</span>]] [[User talk:Catherine Cushing|<span style="color:#F74A4A;font-size:small;font-family:Goudy Old Style">(talk)</span>]]But the signature I tried to write doesn't have the time and date in it!!!--[[User:Catherine Cushing|Catherine Cushing]] ([[User talk:Catherine Cushing|talk]]) 10:38, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
:Firstly, the initial discussion had not ended. I had given suggestions, then admittedly I backflipped because it was apparent that these changes weren't fixing any perceived issues with the sidebar (which you know by now, the issues don't exist). My final word on the initial talks was me giving an opinion that I don't think anything is wrong with the sidebar in its current state.
:Secondly, all the above is irrelevant. Yeah, I could have been more obvious. Yeah, I could be more civil now. But none of that matters for shit because at the end of the day, more people hate this layout than support it (a vast amount actually) and yet the people with the keys are refusing to admit a bad mistake was made, and subsequently refusing to make even minor changes that people are suggesting (and seemed pretty obvious from the get-go I have to say).
:You know I love you Aichon and I'm not meaning to harass. But all that initial stuff, while meaning a lot to me, is irrelevant. At the end of the day, whether he was being a dick or not, Karek fucked up. Whether or not he gets lynched for it isn't my concern nor should it matter. But his bullish attitude towards legitimate responses is disgusting and even if they did have grounds, I was fairly shocked to see you support them while ignoring the discussion Ross and I had beforehand (as he did when making the changes), it's not a good feeling to feel like your opinion is deliberately being counted for shit even when you were one of the only people to have been part of the process from the start. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 03:33, 21 October 2012 (BST)
::I get where you're coming from. For my part, I'm not (at least at this point) refusing to admit a mistake was made (though I do believe there's blame to go around, including on me for not participating when I should have). I'm simply trying to handle it in the way that I think is best at this moment. For the minor changes you mention, honestly, I lost some of it in all of the back-and-forth going on, and I figured that Ross would get some of those things anyway. At this point, I'm planning to swing through tonight or tomorrow to edit in any minor things like that after a bit more discussion has happened (and that's assuming we don't already have something new ready to go by then).
::As for ignoring, you know me well enough to know that I wouldn't ignore your opinion (though you were being a bit of a butt :P). That said, based on my initial reading of things, it looked like things should stay as they were. And at this point, I don't see a benefit in either reverting it or leaving it as it is, so I'd rather just leave the status quo until tomorrow when we'll probably have a new one ready. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 04:02, 21 October 2012 (BST)
:::Side note: while I do think it could have gone better, I want to make clear that it's not my intention to throw Karek under the bus here. I think he did a good thing in getting the ball rolling. The old sidebar worked fine, but it could be improved, and now was a good time to do so. Also, he had a '''GREAT''' idea on IRC last night for the main page redux, so I'll probably be scrapping my version and doing that instead when I find the time. More or less, if we edit the actual CSS/JS for the site, we can do a whole hell of a lot more cool stuff, like moving that massive line of links into categorized pull-down menus that would be easier to use. That would fix the issues my design has with squished text while cleaning up a lot of real estate and making it just generally look way better. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 04:09, 21 October 2012 (BST)
::::As long as you edit it. Yours was always better plus I don't think I can handle another Karekgate. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 04:26, 21 October 2012 (BST)
:::::Lol. Also, I actually prefer the aesthetics of Karek's design to my own. >_> Mine may be more functional, but his ''looks'' better in the way that it's weighted towards the right at most common resolutions. What I just talked about would kinda merge the better parts of the aesthetics of his with the functionality of mine by removing the left-hand navbar in mine and replacing it with a menu bar across the top. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 04:34, 21 October 2012 (BST)

== Danger Center ==
:Hey Catherine. Thanks for the well wishes for London. I'm excited to see it.
:So I think there are two solutions to your questions. Please correct me if you have more questions or if I didn't quite understand your queries (it's been a while since I've really troubleshot signatures).
:The first answer to your question is possibly best answered [[Help:Signatures#Customized_Signatures|here]], with some examples of signature styles etc. that will still help you out with coding and what codes might make your signatures look like what.
:As for your second question, I have a complex signature that appears in code just as '''<nowiki>{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}}</nowiki>'''when I type my <nowiki>"~~~~"</nowiki>. The way you do that is to go to preferences (top right of this whole page) and go to signature and you add '''<nowiki>{{SUBST:Nosubst|User:YOUR SIG HERE}}</nowiki>.''' So for example, mine says right now, ''' <nowiki>{{SUBST:Nosubst|User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}}</nowiki>'''. You are able to go to the real page of [[User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5]] and see the code for yourself, but thanks to this nifty trick, all that code doesn't end up on a page every time I type the signature, the wiki just uses that code as a template.
:Does that help you at all? {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}} 09:44, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Hey, I got your message from a while back and applied some of your suggestions. I've added maps to the Suburb pages. Just wanted to thank you for your suggestion. [[User:Charles Whipplebotum|Charles Whipplebotum]] 02:56, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
::That is extremely helpful and very kind of you, DDR, thank you. (I didn't realize until just now that the signatures I composed have no date and time stamping function included. Ugh.) --[[User:Catherine Cushing|Catherine Cushing]] ([[User talk:Catherine Cushing|talk]]) 10:38, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
:I like the addition. That said, I also think we should destroy the big DangerReport map. I don't know if it's every time someone updates a DangerReport and it needs to refresh the templates or just every time someone loads the DangerReport map, but with one of those, it freezes the wiki for everyone for about 15-30 seconds. The reason I know it's one of those is because every time I notice the wiki freezing, I can always check Recent Changes and see that someone is updating DangerReports. The problem got really annoying for me when I was working on some of the design ideas for the main page and was previewing dozens of changes in quick succession, since I had to wait quite awhile whenever someone was working on the DangerReports. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 03:35, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
:::You can manually add the timestamp! Just type in <nowiki>~~~~~</nowiki> after you put in the template to show the sig you want. Also, if you create a separate page for each signature (just like DDR has) then those pages can be used as the template coding then adding in the five tildes afterwards. You might want to ask Bob what he does, as he switches between signatures depending on what he is doing on the wiki. He has his main one, but then for danger status updates, he often uses his Danger Updater signature. So he might be able to give you another point of view on how to do things with your alt's signatures :) {{User:Stelar/sig}} 11:16, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
::Is that an occurrence with the suburb dangermap, or also the locations? Also, congratulations Charles, I'm pleased to see it in a high-profile place where it belongs! {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 04:01, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
::::For my side signatures, I have a subpage for them (just like a regular signature), e.g. at [[User:Bob Moncrief/DUSig]]. Then, I type ''<nowiki>{{User:Bob Moncrief/DUSig}} ~~~~~</nowiki>'', which transcludes the side signature and then adds just the timestamp (with five tildes, as opposed to four tildes, which would also include my regular signature). {{User:Bob Moncrief/Sig}} 11:58, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
:::Also, TBH If I had the chance to replace dangermap with the DangerCenter I would. It just seems more accurate. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 04:01, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
:::::Thanks all for pitching in to answer that third query that I skimmed past... Basically as Bob and Stelar have said above in regards to getting your 'alternate' signatures to appear as though you are speaking as one of your alts. (Might as well do one for this here message, by manually typing an old sig and then adding the 5 tildes.) {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig2}} 04:10, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
:::It's an issue with the individual locations. Every time someone starts updating individual blocks, the entire wiki hangs for everyone, based on what I've seen. I wasn't sure if that was because they were reloading the giant city map every time or simply because the wiki needed to re-generate the giant city map every time, but based on what Bob said, it sounds like it's the latter, which is unfortunate. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 14:48, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
::First, Charles, you deserve much applause. This was something I was hoping would happen for a while. But, I can definitely corroborate what Aichon has said, that the wiki hangs for a solid 10 seconds every time someone updates a dangerreport - and that person is often me, thanks to my self-assigned EMRP-updating job. Not sure what we can do about this other than getting rid of the full map; I myself use the quadrant maps. {{User:Bob Moncrief/Sig}} 04:05, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
:::I've witnessed the hang-time issue myself, wasn't sure of the cause since all I do is update reports. The big maps is a great visual representation of the city and I'm sure there are those out there that would like to see it stay. If it is the cause of the lag on the wiki then maybe we should get rid of [[User:Peralta/Map_Project]] and its quadrant maps as well and see if that speeds things up. I suppose I should run that by Johnny first. -[[User:Charles Whipplebotum|Charles Whipplebotum]] 04:24, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
::::Yeah, anything we can do to speed things up would be welcome. If dropping one of them would cut the problem in half, that might be sufficient. It wasn't until I realized that it was hanging the wiki for ''everyone'' that this became a problem, since before I thought it was just hanging it for the person loading the page. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 14:48, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
:::::I've dropped johnny a message. Once we're both satisfied with the project we'll get those pages marked for deletion. -[[User:Charles Whipplebotum|Charles Whipplebotum]] 16:03, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

== Truly inactive psysop changes ==

In a nutshell, activity levels would be based on timestamps instead of edit count. We could have a few different levels of activity based on the timestamp. Let's say Active, Less Active, Inactive and Hiatus. Sysops notified on talk page if activity level is changed. To address the issue of crat inactivity, mandate that all crats maintain Active status. If a Less Active sysop is promoted to crat, they have one week to update timestamp, or vote is restarted without them as candidate. ~[[Image:Vsig.png|link=User:Vapor]] 06:18, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
:Could it be automated? {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 06:30, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
::Perhaps. I had the same thought and tried to think of ways. Templates would be involved, so possibly. '''Edit''': Yes it is possible, I've thought of a way. Or at least semi-automated. I think it might be better if it wasn't fully automated, since sysops would be notified of status changes. This could be a crat duty. ~[[Image:Vsig.png|link=User:Vapor]] 06:37, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
:Let's keep it simple. If a 'crat fails to make an edit for a month, anyone can ask them on their talk page if they're still around. Failure to reply in a week is grounds for putting their seat up for grabs. It preserves the community's authority in removing inactive 'crats, while giving us more flexibility in dealing with them by not forcing us to immediately put their seat up. A change like this is also more in line with the inactive sysops policy. It also means that if the community doesn't care that a 'crat is inactive, they can stay inactive. If the community does care, then the 'crat will need to be active or else they'll get demoted. Either way, the policy would react to the community. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 07:01, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Re: nation library edit:

Good Morning, Thank you for the information and understanding. It's been years since I used this site. I have made the accurate correction this time. Nation is up. Looking at it right now. Also, the Danger Report notification at the top of the edit box does specify it is to be NPOV, I was trying to help that person, but went about it wrong. I will do better. I'm sure the usual problem makers will try to tie me to their enemy, but the fact is I was just trying to keep things as accurate as possible. Time for some people to grow up and learn this is not their game, nor their site, and we're all just guests of the creator. Take care. How can I be a sockpuppet if Im a real person, and don't like a hand up my butt?

Dont be made just because Im making more sense than you. Next time just follow my lead and we can all get there together correctly and accurately!

A/V report

Even if I had actually been the one to make the edit in question, A/V policy is to contact the user and try to work it out with them before aggressively filing a report to get them punished, to promote good faith and newbie-friendliness in the community. I note that my talk page is still nonexistent. If you had left me a message instead of rushing to A/V, perhaps we could have worked out some of the smaller details like "I have never edited the page you accused me of vandalizing." --Ɛňvϊoцᵴ (talk) 16:21, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

I had a brain fart making a report about the wrong account, apologies there. I copied the most recent A/VB report over while on the run and somehow didn't remember to change it to the actual accused. A ZOMBIE ANT 22:03, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

gdpr

was there any discussion about it on the wiki ? --hagnat 14:45, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

Not that I'm aware of. Aichon 17:06, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
No. I'm not really the person to discuss the GDPR thing. I honestly don't really know much about it at all, so if anyone else wants to chime in with thoughts, please do. A ZOMBIE ANT 03:47, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

I'm interested to hear what you think- I saw those and interpreted it as the same user coming back under a new account (perhaps they forgot their old password) and just reclaiming their old projects, which isn't uncommon. THE CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER 22:53, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
Particularly because all they've done on that group page is do a couple of small spelling fixes, etc. THE CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER 22:54, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
Ok, and that is fine reasoning; however, Pyropardus blanked user Pardus's page and erased quite a bit of data off of two other pages.
What I really don't like is the precedent this could set. Does this mean that anyone can make a new account like say user NewMartyBanks, and then proceed to edit user MartyBanks profile and erase large portions of the group he is associated with?--Emot-siren.gif LABIA on the INTERNET Emot-siren.gif Dunell Hills Corpseman The Malton Globetrotters#24 - You rated this wiki '1'! So just to put my 2c in now the case is done is I'm pleased you bought the case forward because it can be better to be safe than sorry, and I'm cool with that, although I consider the precedent you seem wary of to simply be "assuming good faith", which is the vibe I got from the whole situation (luckily I was right, though I could have easily been wrong and looked like a tit). Nothing wrong with escalating an issue because no one else has brought anything up because of assumptions. I think you did the right thing. THE CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER 16:37, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, I was wary for that above reason, plus I think pardus was one of the free speech for all people we were arguing with on discord. I wanted to make the issue known before when I first noticed it, but I wanted to wait to see of there were anymore edits. It did get some humorous stuff going when bob and pyropadus started edit warring. --Emot-siren.gif LABIA on the INTERNET Emot-siren.gif Dunell Hills Corpseman The Malton Globetrotters#24 - You rated this wiki '1'! Please stop telling people they should feel honored to be warned by me. It's weird. Continuing to do so may result in additional requests of this variety. Aichon 08:22, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

What an honour! I was just about to joke about how now I can use this 'warning' to fulfil another bucket list item by sending you to misconduct... But I just checked through your archive and it turns out I already did! I even got you banned! DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 08:37, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

I'll still generally be available if someone pings me, but I don't plan to check in on my own otherwise. There's enough other stuff going on to keep me busy in life, and those things are the areas I'd like to be putting more of my attention going forward, so it's time to clear out the old time sinks that I've allowed to accumulate. Signature and template questions

I appreciate your help, DDR. Since you are knowledgeable about signatures, perhaps you could point me to a link that shows/explains how to take a descriptive two-line string of code that delineates a signature ("font-family", etc.) and turns it into the compact form such as your [[User:DDR|DDR]]. I want to be able to turn the strings of descriptors in mine to the compact version of Lizzie Donner. I made up a signature for each alt and put them on the bottom of my homepage, User: Catherine Cushing. I feel like the code isn't written up properly somehow. Maybe that's because I don't understand any of it (just filched it from other peoples' pages.)

Since I wrote that I did find a place that I think explains how to make a nice signature properly. It is: https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_intro.asp

Have some fun in London. I haven't been there in 18 months (I'm in Oregon, above the Pacific in the USA.) It was August and the weather in Whitby was perfection. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Catherine Cushing (talkcontribs) at an unknown time.I forgot; sorry.Catherine Cushing (talk)But the signature I tried to write doesn't have the time and date in it!!!--Catherine Cushing (talk) 10:38, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Hey Catherine. Thanks for the well wishes for London. I'm excited to see it.
So I think there are two solutions to your questions. Please correct me if you have more questions or if I didn't quite understand your queries (it's been a while since I've really troubleshot signatures).
The first answer to your question is possibly best answered here, with some examples of signature styles etc. that will still help you out with coding and what codes might make your signatures look like what.
As for your second question, I have a complex signature that appears in code just as {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}}when I type my "~~~~". The way you do that is to go to preferences (top right of this whole page) and go to signature and you add {{SUBST:Nosubst|User:YOUR SIG HERE}}. So for example, mine says right now, {{SUBST:Nosubst|User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}}. You are able to go to the real page of User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5 and see the code for yourself, but thanks to this nifty trick, all that code doesn't end up on a page every time I type the signature, the wiki just uses that code as a template.
Does that help you at all? DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 09:44, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
That is extremely helpful and very kind of you, DDR, thank you. (I didn't realize until just now that the signatures I composed have no date and time stamping function included. Ugh.) --Catherine Cushing (talk) 10:38, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
You can manually add the timestamp! Just type in ~~~~~ after you put in the template to show the sig you want. So he might be able to give you another point of view on how to do things with your alt's signatures :) stelar Talk|MCM|EBD|Scourge 11:16, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
For my side signatures, I have a subpage for them (just like a regular signature), e.g. at User:Bob Moncrief/DUSig. Then, I type {{User:Bob Moncrief/DUSig}} ~~~~~, which transcludes the side signature and then adds just the timestamp (with five tildes, as opposed to four tildes, which would also include my regular signature). Bob Moncrief EBDW! 11:58, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks all for pitching in to answer that third query that I skimmed past... Basically as Bob and Stelar have said above in regards to getting your 'alternate' signatures to appear as though you are speaking as one of your alts. (Might as well do one for this here message, by manually typing an old sig and then adding the 5 tildes.) -- DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION -- 04:10, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
This is fantastically generous of you all, and I actually understand it!!! (I believe it has also illuminated the idea of posting a template one has made on a file page, so that it actually works out in the UD Wiki world.) I can't tell you how incredibly grateful I am for your help. P.S. I wasn't sure I was allowed to insert a live link for something outside the UD Wiki, so I put spaces into the address for that w3 school tutorial thingee I found. Catherine Cushing (talk) 08:58, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Hey Catherine, thanks for your well wishes, but no need to worry- I’m still an administrator, nothing has really changed in practical terms. I’ve just handed the role of beaurecrat (a slightly higher position with an added admin responsibility) to Bob Moncrief. It’s ok and I’ll still be around 👍 DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 01:42, 16 June 2019 (UTC)

When I make pancakes the first one always sticks and gets fucked up. Any advice for me? -- SomethingSomething.gif 20:36, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
Hmm. That's a tough one. I'd recommend doing an Open Discussion for a meandering session to gain consensus on the issue, vote on the best way through Policy Discussion and if you continue to have issues bring the suggesters to Arbitration so we can bring out justice to the troublemakers. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 22:59, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that posting, DDR.

I'm not sure when I'm supposed to sign things I write (except messages like this one, obviously.) The revised parks list just seemed to be important enough to be able to back up with my work list, to document, in other words. Catherine Cushing (talk) 04:58, 2 July 2019 (UTC)

For pages like that, I'd just make the edit, and put the reasoning in the edit summary. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 12:01, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
That should have occurred to me, Bob. I'll do that if any similar situation comes up. Thanks. Catherine Cushing (talk) 10:10, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
