20070828 SUGGESTION NAME

James Bard 02:06, 28 August 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Balance change Suggestion scope
All Survivors and Zombies Suggestion description
As in WWII during the blitz, it would be advantageous to try to conceal light from the enemy. This change would allow survivors with toolboxes and the construction skill to make it so that less light would seep out of a building with a fueled generator. While survivors and zombies standing in front of the building would be able to tell it has a working generator, those in adjacent squares would see the building as unpowered.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep Author vote.--James Bard 02:10, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep - Great for those covert operations. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 10:30, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Change- Work on it just a little, it just needs a little more tweaking to be a great thing. Nalikill 11:58, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep i never pay attention to the lights anyway but squatters do almost exactly this to disguise the fact that they are not only occupying a building but also stealing power, it should also require spraypaint!!! --Honestmistake 17:48, 29 August 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - That would nerf both zombies and survivors. -- John RubinT! ZG FER 08:49, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - The price for having a powered building that improves search rates is that it attracts attention The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talkcontribs) at 11:30 28 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - It's realistic, but it does nerf pretty much everyone. --Sonofagun18 12:51, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - As boxy. --Hhal 20:04, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - Nice Realism, but this nerfs zeds, and screws over infected/dying survivors.BoboTalkClown 02:01, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill Game breaking? Hardly, since the game was just fine before you could see the lights form the streets. But regardless, I agee with the idea that, you want the lights, you take the risk it attracts attention.--Pesatyel 02:54, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Killtastic - As JohnRubin and Sonofagun. --WOOT 08:00, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - no --~~~~T''' 09:41, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Change - For this to be fair, you would have to board up windows on compass sides of the building. Zeds and survivors standing to the north of the building, for example, wouldn't see light if the north window was boarded. Standing to the Northeast you could still see light unless both the North and East windows are boarded, due to a diagonal view. You can't run into the side of a building that has windows boarded on that side of the building, however, and zeds/survivors standing in front of the building would still see light from inside if the building isn't Extremely Heavily Barricaded. Tetha2 17:19, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  10. KillManJaro! Think about it, If kevan put this in, Almost every single building in the game would go out, because its too easy to turn it off, And no stated way to turn them back on. --Kaynex 03:20, 30 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - Nerfs zombies. I like the current system. You have to balance pay off with it's drawback -- Vista  +1  12:32, 4 September 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. spam - No. --Sonny Corleone RRF DORIS CRF pr0n 03:02, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Now why would this help? -This has absolutely no benefit towards either side. It actually makes it harder to do my job as any of my characters. If I want to destroy something with my zed, it would be hard to spot a target. If I wanted to find help cause I was dying, I would die anyway cause I couldnt see buildings that were held by survivors. =Doc Crook 03:11, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Spam - You have to be kidding. No. --Thelightguy 10:32, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam - 1) You want to hide without light don't install a generator. 2) Your nazi explanation sucked.--Karekmaps?! 10:47, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Spam - As Karek. -- Pavluk 11:16, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Spam you - As Karek. And... it's not realistic. There's no way to hide a powered building, not if the power is going to be useful for anything... we're at STREET LEVEL not in a bomber, so, yeah your Blitz comparison is silly. You want stealth? Read Harrah Rotter under your covers with a flashlight... --WanYao 18:05, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Spam Game breaking. See karek (aulthough, the nazi bit is true, people used to have blackout curtains to hide from nazi planes)--Seventythree 18:12, 28 August 2007 (BST)
Exactly... to hide from PLANES. Planes are, like, in the sky... high up... and far away... cuz they, like, fly and all that crazy aerodynamics coolness and stuff.. Harmanz and zambahz are, like, at street level... and can, like, see stuff, like, up close and all. Ya dig??... C'mon, pay attention already! --WanYao 18:18, 28 August 2007 (BST) Non author re The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talkcontribs) at 09:36 29 August 2007 (BST)
Oh yeah, I know, I thought that Karek was saying that they didn't use blackout curtains in WW2. I agree, they wouldn't work.--Seventythree 18:51, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Spam - This doesn't seem to help anybody. What's the point? --Steakfish 01:23, 30 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Screw it. I'm not giving a reason for the rest of my votes in this spree.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 17:13, 9 September 2007 (BST)
  10. As Karek. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 01:07, 10 September 2007 (BST)
