20071018 Horde Leader

SWP 04:37, 18 October 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Skill.

Suggestion scope
Zombies.

Suggestion description
Once a zombie gets all of the Zombie Skills it can become a 'Leader Zombie' so newbies know to follow orders (grunts / gestures) if they are made by a leader zombie.
So (for example) you would see on the map:
26 zombies
3 Horde Leaders

Keep Votes

  1. Keep The keep section was lookin' lonely. And it's a half-decent suggestion to boot.--the one, the only, sushiknight (talk contribs HARD E.N.D.) 06:09, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep I think this is actually a good idea. For those who vote kill, keep in mind that zombies actually have intelligence in game, and will commit sieges. --Shatterspike1 23:43, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep Three is the loneliest number.--Thekooks 18:08, 21 October 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill/Change - Zombie anonymity is a big thing. It MIGHT be acceptable if Horde Leaders are not identifiable on the map, but only when speaking/groaning/gesturing. --Steakfish 05:08, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - Out of genre. Zeds don't have leaders, it's basic zombie 101. --Sonofagun18 17:55, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Generally I don't like the flavor, but at least it should be clarified whether survivor players can see this distinction as well as zombies (and I would certainly argue they should not) --Rgon 07:34, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - Zombies don't have leaders. They're not gangs. --Pgunn 07:48, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - Doesn't realy fit, somehow.--SeventythreeTalk 07:51, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  6. Strong kill - Zombies don't have leaders. Studoku 09:11, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - Many high level (leader) zombies don't have all the zombie skills because they don't want brain rot -- boxytalk • 13:03 18 October 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - While I admire you trying to keep the suggestion short and simple, it needs to have many details worked out. The people who regular Talk:Suggestions should help you greatly. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 13:46, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill - wouldn't the 'horde leader' be the one taking charge and speaking/gesturing anyway? Even a noob understands that the zombie making all the noise and waving at the mall might be trying to communicate something without having a big neon notation indicating HORDE LEADER. --Shazzelim 15:28, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  10. Kill You see 5 zombies and 27 Horde leaders. --Jon Pyre 15:50, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill Zombies are all about the flesh and brains, not the prestige.--Actingupagain 16:28, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  12. Kill Anti-genre, and it paves the way for pied piper skills, (which this suggestion is not, but slippery slopes being what they are....) and Kevan doesn't like the Pied Piper. --MrCoolantSpray 18:42, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  13. Kill - Because quite a few zombies are already very close to or at maxed skills, some of which are simply grunts, others ferals, and others dead survivor players who got Brain Rot because they felt like it one day. We can't all be horde leaders. --Howard Bentley 23:19, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  14. Kill - Would you like to make it easier for us to kill you, or any other high level zombies in the area? Other than that, my vote is as the other posts above. --Private Mark 03:21, 19 October 2007 (BST)
  15. Kill - As everyone else above, AND when I go out and kill zombies, guess what, I find the career zombies. No need to DNA-Extract, just shoot them and cause a major headache for the other zombies. It's also a bit useless because a lot of zombies are high-level ferals, and they act on their own (duh). Glenstone 06:06, 19 October 2007 (BST)
  16. Kill - If we can't distinguish one dead body from another (unless in contacts), then how would zombies? This would do just that. Besides, it'd be obvious enough to follow feeding groans if the newbie zombie knows anything about zombies.--Kolechovski 15:35, 23 October 2007 (BST)
  17. Kill - There are a huge amount of zombies that have all the zombie skills (brain rot included), so this would have very little effect on gameplay. And it would also serve to make it very easy to tell how many zombies in a given area have brain rot. --Reaper with no name TJ! 19:13, 23 October 2007 (BST)
  18. Kill- I for one would not listen to a Horde Leader, and what if someone has multiple zombies, one of which is maxed out? That would kill the meaning since it is supposed to be a way of determining more experienced players. This suggestion is arrogant and would, in reality, be a pointless addition, since I guarantee you people will not simply do what a Horde Leader "commands" them to do.-- BKM 18:40, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
  19. Kill I can see it now: You see 272 Horde leaders and 2 Zombies. Among them, you recognize Billy. Oh Noes! The Horde Command Structure is GONE! While it would make the Survivor's life easier, I prefer the challenge. ~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 01:01, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
  20. Kill - No, just... no. -J. A. 23:29, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. WTFCENTAURS- Dude, follow the templates. SIGN YOUR EDITS. And be very specific. What level must the zombie reach? Besides, zombies already have skills allowing them to speak in kiZombie and gesture. --Vkkhamul 03:38, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  2. SPAAAAM – Please, use the templates (they're in the instructions) and take it to Talk:Suggestions first next time. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 04:23, 18 October 2007 (BST)
SORTED - OK, I have fixed up the template, and im learning as i go. Cheers for the help. --SWP 04:40, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  3. WTFCENTAURS - Retarded. -- John RubinT! ZG FER 08:56, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam - Silly. And zombies do have leaders, but you have to metagame... In the meantime, just follow the feeding groans and consider the import of the Death Rattle speeches others make. --WanYao 10:12, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  5. Spam Incomplete. I think the idea is flawed and possibly a dupe, but try taking it here for discussion. --Pavluk A! E! 10:30, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  6. Spam Leader and Dupe - and no, I'm not going to find the link. It's a Peer Rejected idea from about a year ago, that (IIRC) JP kept re-suggesting, trying to get something in that would make a zombie leader for other people to get orders from. This kind of thing's for the meta-game. --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 12:12, 18 October 2007 (BST)
    • Although I think mine was a communication skill. This is just a way of telling others you've maxed out your levels. --Jon Pyre 18:59, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  7. Spam - No, not going to happen. For justification see sections Spam/Dupe Votes and Kill Votes for more clairification. --Ryiis 14:50, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  8. Spam Incomplete.--User:Axe27/Sig 17:33, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  9. Spam - As Funt Solo. --~~~~ [talk] 18:11, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  10. Spam Incomplete, and totally pointless. BoboTalkClown 20:12, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  11. Spam - Exactly as Funt, also there are more recent versions too.--Karekmaps?! 20:35, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  12. SRUATONIMFTW It's cool kids code...-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 23:18, 18 October 2007 (BST)
  13. Spam - 394. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 04:24, 19 October 2007 (BST)
  14. IM RAKNED 5TH ON TEH SERVER We need this like we need a built in kills/deaths tracker and zombies in trenchcoats. --Slightly Lions 16:16, 19 October 2007 (BST)
  15. Zombtatorship - Zombies need more democracy. --Taint 18:24, 19 October 2007 (BST)
  16. Spam - Pretty damn pointless. --Anotherpongo 19:25, 19 October 2007 (BST)
  17. Spam - Incomplete, zombie anon, human spies. --Druuuuu 18:26, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
