20071122 MEMORIES OF DEATH
Uncle Bill 09:13, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Suggestion type
Skill
Suggestion scope
Recently revived survivors and combat revived zombies
Suggestion description
The repeated cycle of death and rebirth is beginning to have psychological effects on the newly revived. Survivors have begun to display zombie-like characteristics during the first few moments after being revived. NecroTech employees are reminded to use extreme caution.
I propose a new skill (under the zombie skill tree) that would allow newly revived survivors to use their bite attack within the first ten actions after being revived, or until they leave the square they are in, whichever comes first. Additionally, any unarmed (fist) attacks would benefit from Tangling Grasp if the player has it.
- For purposes of using this skill, standing up does not count against against the ten actions. This will keep head shot from preventing the use of this skill.
- The skill is under the zombie skill tree because you have to "remember dying" in order to take it. It will cost the standard 100 XP.
- The hit percentage and damage from bite attacks is calculated exactly as if the survivor was still a zombie. Digestion and infectious bite do not transfer over.
- The effect lasts for 10 actions or until the player moves to a different location. (Moving inside a building and then biting would be allowed.)

Keep Votes
- Author Keep - Keep in mind, combat revived zombies will receive the greatest benefit from this skill, but the attacks granted are less efficient than the same person opening up a can of whoop-ass with shotguns and pistols. This is meant to be a little more "in genre." --Uncle Bill 09:16, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Kill Votes
- Kill - I don't like this particular suggestion much, but I do like the whole idea of deep damage to the psychosis after too many revification attempts. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 09:55, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - As per Grim and Funt. And as per my reason for rejecting the 1st version: this is of use almost solely to Death Cultists, and no one else -- yet not THAT useful, really... Death Culting is good enough as is, as I can attest to, having gone on a recent post-CR GKing spree in Buttonville ;) --WanYao 12:18, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Kill- As the Spam voters. --Darth LumisT! A! E! 19:22, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- kill an infectionless bite is pointless which is a shame cos i like what you were trying to do... just don't think it can be made to be worthwhile and workable in the game :( --Honestmistake 19:26, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- RE: I guess I understand why this ended up being spamminated. I still think that some kind of skill called "memories of death" would be cool to have around, so I'll take this back to the drawing board and try to go a different direction with it. --Uncle Bill 22:48, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - i just don't like the idea of crossing between zombie and human skills, they should remain seperate Anti gorefest5 Talk--anti gorefest5 23:03, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Kill - It's not a bad idea for preventing combat revives but it's still pretty bad.Studoku 00:29, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Change - Make the bites infectious and/or make it last longer! Too limited... BoboTalkClown 01:52, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Kill I just don't see what the use would be. To deal 12 bite damage to whoever revived you before suiciding? I'd rather they just acquire survivor skills. --Jon Pyre
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - No Hel characters. Read the frequently suggested page. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 09:19, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- RE: Note the limited timeframe when this is possible; it's not something you could do all the time. --Uncle Bill 09:27, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- That makes no difference whatsoever. Zombies are Zombies, Humans are Humans. Do not blur the lines between them. This is also why homogenising the classes is bad. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 09:45, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- RE: Note the limited timeframe when this is possible; it's not something you could do all the time. --Uncle Bill 09:27, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Spam - The limitations make it utterly useless. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 09:42, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Spam - As Grim. Hel characters pop up from time to time and they're one of the few things I reserve a good ole' spam vote for. Not because of imbalance or any nonsense, I just hate the general idea. Sorry! --Karloth Vois RR 10:59, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Spam - limitations make it useless, and without them it's overpowered. This is Spamulus Maximus. --Funt Solo QT 12:14, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
