20090802 Jail Cells

Justinbronze 00:00, 2 August 2009 (BST)

Suggestion type
Building Addition

Suggestion scope
Police Departments

Suggestion description
An addition to a type of building

Jail Cells

Ever have a zombie in your building, but don't have the AP's, ammo, or weaponry to kill it? Don't rely on the others with you! By then it could be too late.

The implementation of jail cells(in Police Departments only) will give a survivor a 37% chance of putting a zombie in the jail cell.It takes 2 AP to push a zombie into the jail cell (due to the fact it is a heavy thing that is semi living.) There is a 2% chance that when you push a zombie into a jail cell, you will become infected.

Flavor text for putting a zombie in a jail cell successfully will read: You push a zombie into a jail cell. Doing so unsuccessfully will read: You attempt to push the zombie into the jail cell, but it won't budge.

Jail cells have a 100% chance of closing when the building isn't ruined. A ruined building has a 21% chance of the door closing.

Flavor text for closing a door successfully reads: You close the jail cell door, locking it. Closing it unsuccessfully reads: The building has been ruined for so long, the hinge is rusted and won't budge.

Attempting to push a survivor into the jail cell reads: You attempt to push (insert survivor name here)into the jail cell, but they walk away from you. Zombies can escape jail cells by attacking the door locks. Cell door lock's are equal to a lightly barricaded building. Flavor text for attacking cell door locks reads: You smash at the lock(equal to you smash at the barricade.) You smash at the lock, it emits a metallic clink.(equal to you smash at the barricade, it creaks.) You smash at the lock, denting it. (equal to you smash at the barricades, part of it collapses.) You smash at the lock, the inside mechanisms of the lock fall apart, the door slowly swings open. (equal to you smash at the barricades, the last section falls away.)

Locks can be fixed by anyone with a toolbox. It will only take 1 toolbox if the user has the construction skill, 3 if not. A police department can have a maximum of 3 jail cells.

The last part of this suggestion: You can walk into a jail cell. If you're afraid your PD safehouse will be breached while your away, you can walk into a jail cell (1 AP) and close it. You won't be able to get out unless you, or someone else breaks the lock. More than person can be in a jail cell at a time, up to 5 people.

To make this possible addition more fair, zombies can also push survivors into jail cells, put only those with Memories of Life that can open doors can close and lock cell doors. I will leave to the imagination what a zombie would do if he/she was locked in a jail cell with a survivor. Locks can be attacked from the outside of the cell.

If this suggestion is implemented, the room description will read: You are in Police Department, Also here is You,A,B, and C. There are ___<---(insert number of jail cells here, 1,2 or 3) jail cells here. ___<--- (insert number of empty jail cells here) empty jail cells. B is in a jail cell, which has an undamaged lock. (Only cells with people inside show the current status of the lock, which are, undamaged, slightly dented, moderately damaged, badly damaged, and destroyed.

Later on, if this suggestion is implemented, a new item, the Cell Key, which has a 41% chance of being found in Police Departments, 1% in Fire Departments, could be added to the game, to rid the need of 1 or 3 toolboxes to fix the lock.

  2. Spam - because libraries obviously have jail cells. Also, DS in future please, and format your suggestion better (walls of text are bad.) Linkthewindow  Talk  07:05, 2 August 2009 (BST)

  4. Spam Cut the guy a little slack, maybe English isn't his native language. Beyond that this, I think (since it wasn't easy to read) could be a dupe. Either way its not really a good idea.--Pesatyel 07:40, 2 August 2009 (BST)
