JanuaryJanuary 9, 2008Location: Matthias General Hospital (Brooksville) It was a few hours after dawn when a zombie managed to breach the hospital's barricades again; we've had a couple break-in attempts through the night, only this time I was close to the barricades when it happened, searching for medical supplies. The zombie managed to bite down on my arm before I managed to get out of the line of fire. I could feel the familiar burn of infection setting in even as I fumbled with my medical supplies when a man in a blood-flecked doctor's coat began tending to my injury himself; he was in his late thirties, with thick glasses and longish brown hair, a heavy stubble on his face and his name tag announcing him as Richard Davidson.

January 2, 2008Location: A Warehouse(Pegton) I was examining my medical bag, preparing to leave the warehouse when I heard my name. "Karen? Doctor Howard!? it is good to see you alive... I was one of your patients before the apocalypse... I got dropped in by chopper last month... have you been in the city this whole time?" Startled, I turned to face a man around my age in bloodstained American fatigues, with Rodriguez on his nametag and Sargent's strips on his sleeves; his features were Hispanic, along with a faint trace of his heritage in his accent. For a moment I drew a blank, trying to recall the man before me; before I was in my residency for pediatrics prior to the quarantine, the small teaching hospital I received my education in before transferring to St Elisabeth's in Lukinswood had often made use of its limited resources so there were times I had helped outside of my specific field when things were busy; when things were that busy, sometimes I didn't remember the patients I interacted with... We did get several military personal at times, so perhaps I had treated him... It surprises me he would have remembered me if I had, I've always been such quiet, mousy thing that tending to blend in with the background... He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly as he continued, "Speaking of which... has anyone seen the army's 82nd airborne division's zulu squad? the platoon was attacked not long after our drop and we scattered..." I noticed something new to his uniform, a clumsily sewn patch bearing the marking of the Malton Rangers. Oh dear... I do believe they don't like my Knights. Oh dear, I'll have to play the diplomat I am and keep a cool head. Thankfully there's another FANNY in the area, so I can leave without worrying about the welfare of the area... Licking my suddenly dry lips, I smiled pleasantly. "I think I recall you, Sargent -- the teaching hospital, right? I transfered from there to St Elisabeth's in Lukinswood a few months before Malton was locked down in quarantine. I've been here ever since."
