:::::::::I think that the best thing to do is just leave the coordinates on this page, possibly on the map, but that Iscariot should take it out of his sig so he doesn't ruin the surprise for those who are avoiding the two previous mentioned areas in hopes of enjoying a hunt. - User:Whitehouse 17:56, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Anyone who either watched the show, or has a rudimentary knowledge of Big Brother, can easily find the house. From the show, the clue is to follow the river past a ruined abbey. The river lock is another big clue. Fans of reality TV can look at the current "big map", find the Elstree Studios Building, and then put 2 and 2 together. It's a shame that two people have to stoop to a revert war, and childish activity, when a consensus can easily be reached. All this fuss over a DVD competition?

Revealing the location here is fine, it's just rather poor to spam the coordinates all over the wiki. If people don't want the location spoiled they shouldn't have looked at this page. -- 16:42, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

:I agree with your comment in regard to spam, and now that we have "official word" I must also agree that people not wanting to be spoiled shouldn't be searching for the information. I hope this resolves the matter for those involved. -- Informant 20:37, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
::Meh, the x coordinate is useless to anyone without extensions so even if you read it accidentally, without any extra info it wouldn't spoil it to hard.-- 05:50, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
:::Good point, I shall change my sig accordingly. -- 20:26, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that a compromise can be reached here.  First off, its sort of trivial whether the house's location is revealed or not; it's a month-long contest for a DVD (as cool as it is, its just a DVD), that any given user has very little chance of winning (as there will likely be thousands of entries by the time the contest ends.)  Why this has inspired such controversy escapes me.  That said, I can see the merits of both sides.  It is true that many players won't care about the "hunting for the house" aspect of the contest, and will simply want to enter the contest right away.  However, it is also true that other players (myself included) enjoy that aspect of the game, and don't want to have the location of the house spoiled for them.
I actually think Iscarot's straw-man argument of "Then go put a spoiler warning on the page" would be the best option.  This way, we avoid censorship, as those seeking the info can find it.  It would also allow those hoping not to be spoiled to avoid the information, if they so choose.
As for Iscarot's sig, I would suggest that he change it as it can be construed as forcing info on people who may not want to see it.  For the record this is merely a suggestion, not censorship.  I have no control over Iscarot's sig, but to appeal to him via what seems to me to be a reasonable request.  Also, kudos on at least removing the blinking from it.  I think that actually goes a long way.
Anyway, the only part that would be tricky to compromise in such a manner, would be the main map of Borehamwood, and map of the suburb the big brother house is in.  I'm not really sure how that ought to be handled.
To sum this up, the point that I'm trying to make is that I think its very important that the wiki have something close to a consistent policy regarding disclosure of the BB house's location, and not get bogged down in back and forth re-edits.  I think the only way this is going to happen is if people on both sides of this agree to be reasonable and bend a little.  --Zarneverfike 05:37, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
:::You can't have a spolier warning, this is not a fictional event. What next, a spoiler warning on the news? "Turn over now if Hamilton winning the World Championship will upset you?" This is a factual event, with sourced information. Don't want to know what's going on, don't read the pages.
::::Not to be rude, but I honestly don't understand how an online game about zombies is not fiction.  Also, if you have some sort of vendetta against Hagnat or others, why get back at them by spoiling an element of the game for people completely uninvolved with your feud?  --Zarneverfike 22:17, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
:::The blinking was removed at the request of two respected users, however the information will remain due to Hagnat's attempted censorship. I told everyone if he came back he'd start making up rules randomly for the sake of it, he didn't even wait until he was promoted this time. -- 20:26, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
:Unfortunately Iscariot only acted like an asshole because he was prohibited from putting the information on resource pages. We could have had a nice outcome like a spoiler warning but both sides stuck to their guns so we ended up with possibly the least desirable situation. Mevs, it's happened now.-- 05:52, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
:You do realize that any signature could be technically considered forcing information upon someone, rrrriiiiggghhhtt? ::J3D hits the nail on the head. Attempted censorship by Hagnat and cronies forced me to preserve the information. Hagnat has a history of acting with mod powers according to his whim. He could have deleted the page (thus wiping the history to normal users) and then cried his way out of a misconduct case. He can't touch my sig, even if I do break the sig policy he has to give me a week to change it before he goes to A/VB. That's your culprit, not me. -- 20:26, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
:::You could be choosing a better way of doing this Iscariot - the way you're spoiling the hunt or the House for those who haven't found it yet is frankly appalling, and quite insensitive. I believe it should be on the wiki in some form, but properly labeled and hidden in some way. You are being quite arrogant in the way you are spreading this knowledge around the wiki. You appear to be perectly happy to spread what you believe around the wiki, taking no one else's opinion on board, yet reprimand Hagnat for doing what he feels is in the best interests. --<span style=";color:Black">Drawde</span> <span style=";color: Blue">Talk To Me!</span> <span style=";color: Black">DORIS</span> <span style=";color: Red">Яed Яum</span> <span style=";color: Green">Defend Ridleybonk!</span> <span style=";color: Brown">I know Nothing!</span> 22:59, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
:::I have forced no one not to post this information in here. The removal of the location of the BB building was done by other users, who were equally unhappy with its revealing. And do not accuse me of a crime i never commited, nor would ever commit. What Drawde and Zarneverfike said is right, you are taking this feud of yours against the sysop team to seriously, and you are ruining the gaming experience and good well being of this community to prove yourself better than those who are "above" you, which itself is wrong as there is no one above others in here. You have won already, iscariot, the location of the building is revealed and there is nothing we can do to hide it again. IMHO, any further discussion over this issue is useless. Iscariot already ruined the fun of many users, and with the location of the house being public most of the fun of searching for the building is over. Like predicted, an influx of users towards the house is already noticeble, and i hope they continue playing after tagging themselves in the house. So yeah, starting a new chain. You know what I think is funny? How you all are singling out Iscariot. You all are complaining about how he is being a jerk about the sekret location, yet, I have it in my sig too, and I think my sig is on more pages than his, and not a word is brought against me. My test is complete. I believe most of you are now just trying to find fault with him for being a dick in other parts of the wiki. == Timeline of House events? ==
I feel that, since the House is a key "objective" (and arguably as important as a mall or police station) then we could do with a timeline and/or status section for people following the metagaming? This event is only 4 weeks long and the House is bound to see serious action, I thought being proactive might be useful. If the House ends up very boring, then we can certainly remove the section. Thoughts? -- Informant 19:14, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
:Currently, it's 'caded and reasonably well powered. There's a couple of zeds outside, but nobody has memories of life yet. --DrBowman 19:48, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

:::Yeah, I'm not sure if anyone in the house is doing sufficient scouting, but it's pretty reasonable to assume any Zombie L3 and higher may have MoL. I've seen a few zombies slaughtering each other outside the House, I can only assume it's to farm XP from each other and deny it to the guys inside. All holy hell will break loose when one gets in with infected bites.. -- Informant 22:13, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I've broke it up into 4 weeks (strictly speaking it'll be 4 and a bit, 28th to 28th) and tried to do a concise summary of events local to the BB house. Added some colour, although if people want a "just the facts" version then I can do that too. There's more than a few players are inside the house, if those guys could add the internal aspect then that would be great for posterity. I'm looking forward to Week 4, when I can only assume all hell will have broken loose. If we don't have at least 75% of the population clusterbanging the BB house then I shall be very unhappy! -- Informant 23:46, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
:So far little has happened in The Big Brother House. The only thing I can think to mention is that somehow a zombie got into the runs and the situation was strangely similar to the one on Dead Set. I had logged off and did not see what happened to it or who it was but when I returned it was gone. When I first arrived I tried to barricade the exits with lead pipes only to find to my dismay that the zombies quickly destroyed them. Several other people tried to do the same until a survivor arrived wih Construction and barricaded the Control Room where I was.
ZOMBIES ARE IN! I think I'm the first one in the lounge. http://iwrecords.urbandead.info/11-06-08_1800hrs_PUBLIC/IN_550-85_First_zombie_in_e43-88c-c06.html

:Curse you, I was going to post that. I have a record of everything that happened in the room, unfortunately I somehow uninstalled MS Paint from my computer. At the time this is being posted, there are seven zombies in the Control Room and one in the Runs. There is also one dead body in the Control Room. Generator was destroyed in the Control Room and then the Runs. I must say that this is rather exciting. --Gamee Shark 21:08, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
::About time we got in en masse, I opened the door enough times! Try and keep notes guys, it'd be good copy for the weekly update. Mind you, I expect week two to be "Zombies annihilated the house".. -- Informant 18:48, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
: The control room seems to be the enterence of choice for the zombies. At the time of this post there are 53 zombies and thirty-one corpses outside the control room. --Gamee Shark 14:00, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
:: It's strange though, because that many should be able to pile into the building anytime. The battle for the house is pretty poor so far, it's a shame survivors haven't really got into the spirit. Still, there we go. -- Informant 16:14, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
:::I must say that I agree with you. It also appears that the number of survivors (at least in the control room) has been decreasing. I fear for my safety should the zombies finally break through. It will be hell. --Gamee Shark 17:09, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
:::: Well the control room is ours now, your gen is toast. Noone is staying there to barricade us back out. Depending on how the next few hours go, the timeline might have to be truncated. You'll either see a big push against the zeds, a raggedy retreat to the supermarket, or just utter bedlam as you all get munched. Once the house is covered in zeds, the "game" is pretty much over - so long as you're not breathing, you can get into the Diary Room. -- Informant 00:43, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
:::::I took a quick iWitness, mainly for bragging rights. There are fewer zombies there, but golly, if anyone has the ransack skill...

Is there any good reason that this isn't in the standard News format as with every other major location on this wiki? There is no guarantee that Borehamwood will last only a month, Monroeville was only supposed to be a month, that's still going. -- 17:33, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
: A number of reasons. The most obvious being the announced 4 week lifespan. Borehamwood may yet live on, but the problem is the bloodied eyes and the use of the BB House (no doubt copyrighted up the wazoo and used under license). The second reason, would be for simple posterity. The "First Siege of the BB House" could be a notable event, and thus need to be handled in a similar fashion to the other notable sieges, etc. The third is the House's status as an important building. The Malls have their own "fluff" and history, doesn't the house deserve the same? -- Informant 23:08, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
At the time of this post there are at least 70 zombies with the runs, control room, diary room and lounge. I can only see one part of the offices and that section is empty of all life.--Gamee Shark 11:25, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

descriptions

some flavor, not sure in which form to add it to the article:

You are inside the runs, a series of dimly-lit corridors that surround the studio. Two-way mirrors look out into the house. With the lights out, you can hardly see anything. The building's fire exits have been secured.

You are inside the control room, with monitors and consoles stacked on desks and shelves. The building's fire exits have been secured.

You are inside the offices, a network of corridors, meeting rooms and office spaces. The doors to the street have been secured.

You are inside the Big Brother lounge, a large, wooden-floored room with designer chairs, flock wallpaper and a small kitchen. The doors to the street have been secured.

You are inside the diary room, a blank room with a large, purple chair in the middle.

Note that:

 1. the runs are dark buildings.
 2. the diary room has no entrance/exit to the streets at all.
 3. powering up control room can make some monitors there usefull (like cctv in police stations)

--~~~~ [talk] 00:36, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm confused as to how the Lounge has a door to the street. :/

Hidden location?

It's location is uncertain, and users have been asked to keep it that way. —Hagnat

Asked by who? If it's anyone short of Kevan, I am disinclined to acquiesce to your request.ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 13:24, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

My updating of this article has just been reverted. This wiki is a resource, I consider the removal of factual and sourced information to be in bad faith and will take people to A/VB. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 13:26, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

I was just about to say – nice work on the find, and good timing! Unless there has been an explicit request from Kevan to keep the location hidden, I have to agree with you. "Information wants to be free" → it's going to get out, especially now that iWitnesses have been posted. Anyone who wants to keep it hidden, you might as well bow to the inevitable and save yourself the hassle. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 13:30, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
I actually went out and found it yesterday afternoon, I was just busy until then. If it hadn't been for Hagnat's "Noez, keeps it sekrit soez i can haz winz!" bullshit I wouldn't have been in a hurry, however I'm violently opposed to censorship. This is now sourced and posted on Barhah and the Philosophe Knight boards just in case. Never claimed to be first, but more public iwits increase everyone's chances. Iscariot, i play zombie... the doors to the place are locked and i still didnt got inside. Therefore, i am not participating on the competition... yet. This is not a matter of censorship, its not a matter of a user keeping this info so he can win the prize himself, its rather a case of allowing people to have fun searching for a unique building. If this information is publicy available, most of the fun of searching for it vanishes. Its like telling the end of suspense/drama movie to someone who just bought a ticket for it. The wiki might be a resource, but it must be a resource thinking on the fun of its users. --People's Commissar Hagnat talk 13:57, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Then go put a spoiler warning on the page, oh, wait, you can't because this isn't a work of fiction. People have a month to find a building in a city sized area, you are delusional if you think that's fun for anyone but a cartographer.
"it must be a resource thinking on the fun of its users." - Must it? Would you care to show me the policy, nay, the guidelines, nay the fucking open discussion where this crap was decided? Didn't think you could. Less than 24 hours back in office and already making shit up, colour me shocked and amazed....
Also, don't post here trying to sound all reasonable when you later decided to go onto my talk page and ignore the very simple rules and throw insults around. Would it be possible to remove the blinking of that signature? I have no problem with you revealing the location, but the blinking is a little bit annoying. - User:Whitehouse 14:32, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
After reading AHLG's comment below, it does seem wrong to have it in your signature, couldn't you just remove it now before more people have the location hunt ruined? - User:Whitehouse 16:48, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
We got a Kevan answer here, he doesn't mind either way so it's up to us. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 17:28, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
I think that the best thing to do is just leave the coordinates on this page, possibly on the map, but that Iscariot should take it out of his sig so he doesn't ruin the surprise for those who are avoiding the two previous mentioned areas in hopes of enjoying a hunt.

For those of you arguing over a 4 week window to find the House........ Flares, feeding groans, and the zerg. Bear in mind all zombie players get Lurching Gait for free, which means an easy jog to the House. Between that and the clues to location, it should have been easy. The problem now is that it may provoke a big rush of people to the house, leaving the rest of the game area very boring. It's a pity people couldn't consider that BEFORE inciting a headlong rush to the House. Such is life. --Informant 16:13, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Revealing the location here is fine, it's just rather poor to spam the coordinates all over the wiki. If people don't want the location spoiled they shouldn't have looked at this page. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 16:42, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

I agree with your comment in regard to spam, and now that we have "official word" I must also agree that people not wanting to be spoiled shouldn't be searching for the information. I hope this resolves the matter for those involved. -- Informant 20:37, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Meh, the x coordinate is useless to anyone without extensions so even if you read it accidentally, without any extra info it wouldn't spoil it to hard.--xoxo 05:50, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Good point, I shall change my sig accordingly. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 20:26, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

You can't have a spolier warning, this is not a fictional event. What next, a spoiler warning on the news? "Turn over now if Hamilton winning the World Championship will upset you?" This is a factual event, with sourced information. Don't want to know what's going on, don't read the pages.
Not to be rude, but I honestly don't understand how an online game about zombies is not fiction. Also, if you have some sort of vendetta against Hagnat or others, why get back at them by spoiling an element of the game for people completely uninvolved with your feud? --Zarneverfike 22:17, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
The blinking was removed at the request of two respected users, however the information will remain due to Hagnat's attempted censorship. I told everyone if he came back he'd start making up rules randomly for the sake of it, he didn't even wait until he was promoted this time. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 20:26, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunately Iscariot only acted like an asshole because he was prohibited from putting the information on resource pages. We could have had a nice outcome like a spoiler warning but both sides stuck to their guns so we ended up with possibly the least desirable situation. Mevs, it's happened now.--xoxo 05:52, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

J3D hits the nail on the head. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 20:26, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
You could be choosing a better way of doing this Iscariot - the way you're spoiling the hunt or the House for those who haven't found it yet is frankly appalling, and quite insensitive. --Drawde Talk To Me! DORIS Яed Яum Defend Ridleybonk! I know Nothing! 22:59, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
I have forced no one not to post this information in here. Placing it on your sig... that's just being a sore winner, and a trully ass. --People's Commissar Hagnat talk mod 23:12, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Timeline of House events?

I feel that, since the House is a key "objective" (and arguably as important as a mall or police station) then we could do with a timeline and/or status section for people following the metagaming? This event is only 4 weeks long and the House is bound to see serious action, I thought being proactive might be useful. If the House ends up very boring, then we can certainly remove the section. Thoughts? -- Informant 19:14, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Currently, it's 'caded and reasonably well powered. There's a couple of zeds outside, but nobody has memories of life yet. --DrBowman 19:48, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Actually i know at least 1 zombie that has MoL and is there... MOre will come anyway. (in spooky voice) They're coming to get you, Barbara! --~~~~ [talk] 20:24, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm not sure if anyone in the house is doing sufficient scouting, but it's pretty reasonable to assume any Zombie L3 and higher may have MoL. I've seen a few zombies slaughtering each other outside the House, I can only assume it's to farm XP from each other and deny it to the guys inside. All holy hell will break loose when one gets in with infected bites.. -- Informant 22:13, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
I think you meant "Zahr gamman zah grab hra, Barbara!" --People's Commissar Hagnat talk mod 12:29, 4 November 2008 (UTC) (thanks revenant for the rattle)

So far little has happened in The Big Brother House.

I think I'm the first one in the lounge. http://iwrecords.urbandead.info/11-06-08_1800hrs_PUBLIC/IN_550-85_First_zombie_in_e43-88c-c06.html --DrBowman 19:17, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Curse you, I was going to post that.
About time we got in en masse, I opened the door enough times! Try and keep notes guys, it'd be good copy for the weekly update. Mind you, I expect week two to be "Zombies annihilated the house".. -- Informant 18:48, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
The control room seems to be the enterence of choice for the zombies. At the time of this post there are 53 zombies and thirty-one corpses outside the control room. --Gamee Shark 14:00, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
It's strange though, because that many should be able to pile into the building anytime. The battle for the house is pretty poor so far, it's a shame survivors haven't really got into the spirit. Still, there we go. -- Informant 16:14, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I must say that I agree with you. It also appears that the number of survivors (at least in the control room) has been decreasing. I fear for my safety should the zombies finally break through. It will be hell. --Gamee Shark 17:09, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Well the control room is ours now, your gen is toast.
I took a quick iWitness, mainly for bragging rights. There are fewer zombies there, but golly, if anyone has the ransack skill...

Is there any good reason that this isn't in the standard News format as with every other major location on this wiki? There is no guarantee that Borehamwood will last only a month, Monroeville was only supposed to be a month, that's still going. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 17:33, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

A number of reasons.

The numbers of zombies within the house has decreased considerablely, however there is still a large amount sleeping within at the time of this post. --Gamee Shark 12:02, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
