Good Morning,
I'm doing this as a double check on the number of contestants, so if you don't mind, please [[Talk:Malton_Manhunt/Axe_Hack's_Manhunt_3#Just_wanna_confirm...|sign the list]]. --{{User:Axe Hack/Sig}} 02:43, 30 June 2010 (BST)
Thank you for the information and understanding. It's been years since I used this site.
I have made the accurate correction this time. Nation is up. Looking at it right now.
Also, the Danger Report notification at the top of the edit box does specify it is to be NPOV,
I was trying to help that person, but went about it wrong. I will do better.
I'm sure the usual problem makers will try to tie me to their enemy, but the fact is I was just trying to keep things as accurate as possible. Time for some people to grow up and learn this is not their game, nor their site, and we're all just guests of the creator.
Take care.  {{User:Neutral objector}} 04:30, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

DDR, can you help me use my snazzy new sig, please? --[[User:Natasha Fatale|Natasha Fatale]] 23:36, 2 July 2010 (BST)
Even if I had actually been the one to make the edit in question, A/V policy is to contact the user and try to work it out with them <b>before</b> aggressively filing a report to get them punished, to promote good faith and newbie-friendliness in the community. I note that my talk page is still nonexistent. If you had left me a message instead of rushing to A/V, perhaps we could have worked out some of the smaller details like "I have never edited the page you accused me of vandalizing." --[[User:Envious|Ɛňvϊoцᵴ]] ([[User talk:Envious|talk]]) 16:21, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

:I had a brain fart making a report about the wrong account, apologies there. I copied the most recent A/VB report over while on the run and somehow didn't remember to change it to the actual accused. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 22:03, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

was there any discussion about it on the wiki ? --<small>[[User:Hagnat|hagnat]]</small> 14:45, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
:Not that I'm aware of. It's on Kevan, so our lack of discussion here on the wiki is not really surprising. Frankly, given that he cut off payments from UK customers to comply with updated business regulations a few years back, I was half expecting that the wiki and game might suddenly shut down so that he wouldn't have to worry about any potential GDPR compliance issues, but that hasn't happened (yet). {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 17:06, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
:No. I'm not really the person to discuss the GDPR thing. I honestly don't really know much about it at all, so if anyone else wants to chime in with thoughts, please do. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 03:47, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

Are not incorrectly signed. They have the indent ''which I'' put on them still left on. The votes are signed perfectly.--{{User:Yonnua Koponen/signature‎}} 07:23, 5 July 2010 (BST)
I was going to back it up for you, then noticed you already did.  The idea is not bad, too bad kevan has not decided to do this. He seems to be active still on his main site. --{{User:Gardenator/sig}} 06:06, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

:Thanks, I figured Kevan would never ever see it, but it’s fun to suggest things and I enjoy keeping them archived somewhere to remember them. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 12:37, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
::Right, now I see all the reasons I'm confused. Damn people editting each other's timestamps. Thanks!--{{User:Yonnua Koponen/signature‎}} 07:29, 5 July 2010 (BST)
:Great job cleaning out the suggestions section by the way. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/a}} 12:40, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Good point, Yonnua. DDR, please stop interfering in the democratic process. There is no rule against fixing somebody's signature when they have clearly attempted to do so. See {{tl|unsigned}}. (Timestamps come from the History tab, noobs.) {{User:Revenant/Sig}} 07:32, 5 July 2010 (BST)
== that's not ==
:Revenant, those are not correctly signed, and, since it's a vote where it explicitly said they would be struck otherwise, there'll be no meddling with them.--{{User:Yonnua Koponen/signature‎}} 07:35, 5 July 2010 (BST)
:No, you're impersonating, which done knowingly is vandalism. You keep it up? You'll be sent to vandal banning. If you want the votes so badly you have to get the users to come back onto the wiki and add the signature and timestamp themselves. You may not make the users timestamp for them, in all votes for the wiki votes/timestamps/sigs must be 100% the voters material, always has been and at the top it's no exception and states the criterea that a valid vote must be ''when placed'' which was breached no matter how much surgery you try and pull on the votes to fix them. And I know they come from the history tab. --{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig3}} 07:43, 5 July 2010 (BST)
::Gotta agree with DDR and Yonn on this one. It's standard practice and it says it in plain language that explicitly lays out what'll happen if you fail to do it properly. That said, there's more to that rule than merely striking the vote, and on the one user I did check, neither of you two followed through on it. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 07:52, 5 July 2010 (BST)
:::As far as I remember it said we ''should'' notify the users. I don't bother notifying meatpuppets. If it were you who screwed it up, I would notify you, not users who will only get the message when they're called back in a month. --{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig3}} 07:53, 5 July 2010 (BST)
:::I actually notified them both when I struck them the first time.--{{User:Yonnua Koponen/signature‎}} 07:57, 5 July 2010 (BST)
::::There are three that have been struck, and, ironically, the only one I checked was the one you didn't notify (I since saw your two notifications on my own). Regardless, DDR is correct, it says "should", not "must".  {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 08:03, 5 July 2010 (BST)
:::The {{tl|unsigned}} template does not constitute impersonation. Neither does fixing someone else's timestamp. The History confirms that the comment was theirs, I am providing correct attribution. lrn2copyrite kthx {{User:Revenant/Sig}} 08:31, 5 July 2010 (BST)
::::If you don't stop edit warring this, I'll be protecting the page until you've shown signs you can behave. Then we'll see who has the winning chance in you're petty election. God, I can't wait till you look back on this in a week and realise how retarded you're behaving. --{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig3}} 08:34, 5 July 2010 (BST)
:::::[[A/VB#Response by accused|O RLY]]? {{User:Revenant/Sig}} 18:09, 5 July 2010 (BST)
:::::This isn't about Revenant scrabbling for votes. I fail to see how correcting timestamps is an unreasonable thing to do; as Revenant pointed out, the comment with the correct time is clearly attributed to the original poster in the page history. Forgetting a piece of attribution that's stored elsewhere doesn't make the posters' intent any less obvious or valid. Could you explain the rationale for why this was unacceptable? {{User:Aphelion/sig}} 19:21, 5 July 2010 (BST)
::::::It actually does make it less valid. Not by logic but just by the rules of keeping a clean boundary between properly made votes and otherwise. I was simply basing this off voting guidelines of policy discussion and suggestions voting. I could give you a history lesson explaining in a very logical manner exactly why I'm not even pursuing this anymore,  so I don't really know why you're jumping in. --{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig3}} 00:54, 6 July 2010 (BST)
:::::::I brought it up because I don't understand the thought process behind your decision, and alluding vaguely to unspecified rules isn't very helpful. I see nothing wrong with fixing attributions as long as everything is correct and properly cited. I mean, yes, you should timestamp your votes, and if you do it wrong, people are under no obligation to count it--but if someone is inclined to correct it, where's the harm? Why does a "properly made" vote have more intrinsic value than one that was later corrected by someone else when both are equally clear and equally well cited? Since the issue is no longer relevant, I'm willing to drop it, but it just seems strange to me. {{User:Aphelion/sig}} 01:57, 6 July 2010 (BST)
::::::::Ask the founding fathers of the wiki where they got their decisions from, don't make me go through the A/PD archives to answer your pointless questions, again I was just following what has been used as a rule of thumb for official wiki votes, as Yonnua did when he wrote the rules. As for citing unspecified rules, well, that's just a perk of actually spending a lot of time on this place, so don't look at me as if I'm trying to cheat you out of some sort of conversational leverage, it's just the truth, and I couldn't care less whether you "buy" its legitimacy or not. I'm sorry if this seems blunt but it's only because I really don't want to have to keep grinding on about these questions when I've been proven by sysop vote that my view does not apply in this case and have happily yielded- it's a null argument now. --{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig3}} 07:23, 6 July 2010 (BST)
:::::::::Dagnabit, I only just read the last sentence of your post saying you were willing to drop it. nvm. --{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig3}} 08:33, 6 July 2010 (BST)

Regarding the current bids. Neither Grim or Revenant meet the criteria. It's mostly good ol spam. WOOT precedent? I didn't want to drag them to A/VB since I doubt they are aware of it. But why are the bids still on? I thought stuff likes this gets moved to the talk page, not archived as Ross apparently wants let alone be seriously considered. :Well in the case of the Woot precedent, it was his third or fourth case before he was vandalbanned. These two have done it once. The general idea is if it happens multiple times, THEN it's vandalism.--{{User:Yonnua Koponen/signature‎}} 18:23, 5 July 2010 (BST)

:Pardon me, it took me a while to understand what is going on. By no means do I mind, once the circus dies down it can be archived early (or just left to die after a long time span). As far as I see they are just tarnishing reputations and behaving like jackasses out of butthurtery, if being remembered for this is their prerogative then I don't mind. --{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig3}}

:It's usually only vandalism if its been spammed on the page multiple times (as Yonnua said.) Usually we don't worry about cycling inappropriate candidates unless they are ''clearly'' inappropriate (and this is usually done under the pretense of not gaining enough vouch votes, [[UDWiki:Administration/Promotions/Jerrel_Yokotory_(1)|an example is here.]]) In most cases (and especially in this case,) it's usually not worth the effort/drama to cycle a bid early. {{User:Linkthewindow/Sig}} 05:04, 6 July 2010 (BST)

== Pardus and associated pages ==

Hey DDR. I noticed that you had deleted an image that I uploaded a week or two ago that I was going to use for a building. Unfortunately, I was in Los Angeles on vacation during the deletion and had limited access to the internet so I didn't get the chance to appeal it then. I'd like to use it now, if you don't mind.
Seems that the user Pyropardus is taking over user Pardus and other associated pages. Afaik, this should not be done.  http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Special:Contributions/Pyropardus  --{{User:Gardenator/sig}} 22:40, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
Thanks and here's hoping you gain Sysop. --[[User:TheBardofAwesome|TheBardofAwesome]] 11:18, 6 July 2010 (BST)
:I'm interested to hear what you think- I saw those and interpreted it as the same user coming back under a new account (perhaps they forgot their old password) and just reclaiming their old projects, which isn't uncommon. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/tcs}} 22:53, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
:No prob. I'm already sysop and I'd be happy to reupload your image. Do you know its name at all? I can find it easier then, I'm afraid my archive is rather large. --{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig3}} 11:24, 6 July 2010 (BST)
::Particularly because all they've done on that group page is do a couple of small spelling fixes, etc. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/tcs}} 22:54, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

:::Ok, and that is fine reasoning; however, Pyropardus blanked user Pardus's page and erased quite a bit of data off of two other pages.  Now compare that to user Igotmadenoughtomakeanewaccount, who was warned for making edits to user Shaqfu's page.  There was some back and forth so it was apparent that Shaqfu didn't want the edit to his page.  The edits were the addition of two templates, one of which called user A Helpful Little Gnome a "five alarm fuckwit". That appeared to draw user A Helpful Little Gnome into creating a V/B case against user Igotmadenoughtomakeanewaccount.
::Yep, that's the one Boxy! Thanks to the both of you. --[[User:TheBardofAwesome|TheBardofAwesome]] 12:19, 6 July 2010 (BST)

:::::So just to put my 2c in now the case is done is I'm pleased you bought the case forward because it can be better to be safe than sorry, and I'm cool with that, although I consider the precedent you seem wary of to simply be "assuming good faith", which is the vibe I got from the whole situation (luckily I was right, though I could have easily been wrong and looked like a tit). Nothing wrong with escalating an issue because no one else has brought anything up because of assumptions. I think you did the right thing. {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/tcs}} 16:37, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
::::::Yeah, I was wary for that above reason, plus I think pardus was one of the free speech for all people we were arguing with on discord.  I wanted to make the issue known before when I first noticed it, but I wanted to wait to see of there were anymore edits.  It did get some humorous stuff going when bob and pyropadus started edit warring.  --{{User:Gardenator/sig}} 16:53, 18 August 2018 (UTC)

Simple addition and subtraction is possible using switch statements, but you can only do it for preset/hardcoded ranges of numbers (at least, I've never figured out a way to do it for an arbitrary integer, but if you know a way to implement addition for an arbitrary integer using only switch statements, you let me know). In our case, however, we'd only need to go up to 31, so the arithmetic is possible. Assuming we had some way to subst in the starting month and day of the vote via a template call (which I'm not sure is possible, off the top of my head), we'd be able to add 14 days onto it. At that point, we have the end date, which we could then use for a countdown and notification, much like I did back in the earliest revisions of the [[Big Bash 3]] page. It's probably more hassle than it's worth though, since it'd likely be a few hundred or thousand lines of wikicode (e.g. some of the logic would be similar to what I used [[User:Aichon/Sandbox/Demo2|here]], which is essentially one template call away from breaking the page). A better way would be to have someone compute the end date manually then call a template that acts like a countdown/notification to that date. That'd actually be pretty simple to make. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 08:17, 10 July 2010 (BST)
::{{CodeInline| <nowiki>{{SUBST:CURRENTYEAR}}-{{SUBST:CURRENTMONTH}}-{{SUBST:CURRENTDAY}}</nowiki>}} → 2010-07-10. Howzat? {{User:Revenant/Sig}} 08:46, 10 July 2010 (BST)
:::But can you do all of that from a template call rather than directly on the page itself? That's the crux of the problem. The substing won't work, I believe, though there might be some ways to finagle it by using includeonly and some creative parsing. I've experimented with it in the past, and I know Rooster has too, but I don't think we've ever found success with it, from what I recall. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 08:51, 10 July 2010 (BST)

Yeah, it was getting kinda ridiculous there. Good move. Kinda weirded me out seeing the Vouch/Againsts there as well, but figure it helps preserve the context, right? Can't help but wonder if making it more obvious that they're quotes is a good idea, but that's more a general procedural thought than anything. {{User:Revenant/Sig}} 21:22, 10 July 2010 (BST)

:Hmm. Like most things, I picked up that idea from whoever moved stuff over to the talk page before me, and I think it helps preserve context for whoever needs to remember it. I think it helps, it can make it look a little superficial I but in reality, it is only ever moved like that if it crosses the line into "going too far" so ''usually'' it's discussion that is considered a little unnecessary. Of course the crats should read it, it's just a majority of people shouldn't need to do get the jist of what's going on. --{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig3}} 03:26, 11 July 2010 (BST)

==  Signature and template questions ==

I appreciate your help, DDR.  Since you are knowledgeable about signatures, perhaps you could point me to a link that shows/explains how to take a descriptive two-line string of code that delineates a signature ("font-family", etc.) and turns it into the compact form such as your <nowiki>[[User:DDR|DDR]]</nowiki>. I want to be able to turn the strings of descriptors in mine to the compact version of [[Catherine Cushing|Lizzie Donner]].  I made up a signature for each alt and put them on the bottom of my homepage, User: Catherine Cushing. I feel like the code isn't written up properly somehow. Maybe that's because I don't understand any of it (just filched it from other peoples' pages.)

Since I wrote that I did find a place that I think explains how to make a nice signature properly. It is: https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_intro.asp

Have some fun in London. I haven't been there in 18 months (I'm in Oregon, above the Pacific in the USA.) It was August and the weather in Whitby was perfection. {{unsigned|Catherine Cushing}}I forgot; sorry.[[User:Catherine Cushing|<span style="font-family:Goudy Old Style;color:#008080;font-size:small">Catherine Cushing</span>]] [[User talk:Catherine Cushing|<span style="color:#F74A4A;font-size:small;font-family:Goudy Old Style">(talk)</span>]]But the signature I tried to write doesn't have the time and date in it!!!--[[User:Catherine Cushing|Catherine Cushing]] ([[User talk:Catherine Cushing|talk]]) 10:38, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

:Hey Catherine. Thanks for the well wishes for London. I'm excited to see it.
:So I think there are two solutions to your questions. Please correct me if you have more questions or if I didn't quite understand your queries (it's been a while since I've really troubleshot signatures).
:The first answer to your question is possibly best answered [[Help:Signatures#Customized_Signatures|here]], with some examples of signature styles etc. that will still help you out with coding and what codes might make your signatures look like what.
:As for your second question, I have a complex signature that appears in code just as '''<nowiki>{{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}}</nowiki>'''when I type my <nowiki>"~~~~"</nowiki>. The way you do that is to go to preferences (top right of this whole page) and go to signature and you add '''<nowiki>{{SUBST:Nosubst|User:YOUR SIG HERE}}</nowiki>.''' So for example, mine says right now, ''' <nowiki>{{SUBST:Nosubst|User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}}</nowiki>'''. You are able to go to the real page of [[User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5]] and see the code for yourself, but thanks to this nifty trick, all that code doesn't end up on a page every time I type the signature, the wiki just uses that code as a template.
:Does that help you at all? {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}} 09:44, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

::That is extremely helpful and very kind of you, DDR, thank you.  (I didn't realize until just now that the signatures I composed have no date and time stamping function included. Ugh.) --[[User:Catherine Cushing|Catherine Cushing]] ([[User talk:Catherine Cushing|talk]]) 10:38, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
:::You can manually add the timestamp! Just type in <nowiki>~~~~~</nowiki> after you put in the template to show the sig you want. Also, if you create a separate page for each signature (just like DDR has) then those pages can be used as the template coding then adding in the five tildes afterwards. You might want to ask Bob what he does, as he switches between signatures depending on what he is doing on the wiki. He has his main one, but then for danger status updates, he often uses his Danger Updater signature. So he might be able to give you another point of view on how to do things with your alt's signatures :) {{User:Stelar/sig}} 11:16, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
::::For my side signatures, I have a subpage for them (just like a regular signature), e.g. at [[User:Bob Moncrief/DUSig]]. Then, I type ''<nowiki>{{User:Bob Moncrief/DUSig}} ~~~~~</nowiki>'', which transcludes the side signature and then adds just the timestamp (with five tildes, as opposed to four tildes, which would also include my regular signature). {{User:Bob Moncrief/Sig}} 11:58, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
:::::Thanks all for pitching in to answer that third query that I skimmed past... Basically as Bob and Stelar have said above in regards to getting your 'alternate' signatures to appear as though you are speaking as one of your alts. (Might as well do one for this here message, by manually typing an old sig and then adding the 5 tildes.) {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig2}} 04:10, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Re: nation library edit:

Good Morning, Thank you for the information and understanding. It's been years since I used this site. I have made the accurate correction this time. Nation is up. Looking at it right now. Also, the Danger Report notification at the top of the edit box does specify it is to be NPOV, I was trying to help that person, but went about it wrong. I will do better. I'm sure the usual problem makers will try to tie me to their enemy, but the fact is I was just trying to keep things as accurate as possible. Time for some people to grow up and learn this is not their game, nor their site, and we're all just guests of the creator. Take care. How can I be a sockpuppet if Im a real person, and don't like a hand up my butt?

Dont be made just because Im making more sense than you. Next time just follow my lead and we can all get there together correctly and accurately!

A/V report

Even if I had actually been the one to make the edit in question, A/V policy is to contact the user and try to work it out with them before aggressively filing a report to get them punished, to promote good faith and newbie-friendliness in the community. I note that my talk page is still nonexistent. If you had left me a message instead of rushing to A/V, perhaps we could have worked out some of the smaller details like "I have never edited the page you accused me of vandalizing." --Ɛňvϊoцᵴ (talk) 16:21, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

gdpr

was there any discussion about it on the wiki ? --hagnat 14:45, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

Not that I'm aware of. Aichon 17:06, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
No. I'm not really the person to discuss the GDPR thing. I honestly don't really know much about it at all, so if anyone else wants to chime in with thoughts, please do. A ZOMBIE ANT 03:47, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

I'm interested to hear what you think- I saw those and interpreted it as the same user coming back under a new account (perhaps they forgot their old password) and just reclaiming their old projects, which isn't uncommon. THE CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER 22:53, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
Particularly because all they've done on that group page is do a couple of small spelling fixes, etc. THE CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER 22:54, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
Ok, and that is fine reasoning; however, Pyropardus blanked user Pardus's page and erased quite a bit of data off of two other pages.
What I really don't like is the precedent this could set. Does this mean that anyone can make a new account like say user NewMartyBanks, and then proceed to edit user MartyBanks profile and erase large portions of the group he is associated with?--Emot-siren.gif LABIA on the INTERNET Emot-siren.gif Dunell Hills Corpseman The Malton Globetrotters#24 - You rated this wiki '1'! Sure. THE CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER 05:52, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
So just to put my 2c in now the case is done is I'm pleased you bought the case forward because it can be better to be safe than sorry, and I'm cool with that, although I consider the precedent you seem wary of to simply be "assuming good faith", which is the vibe I got from the whole situation (luckily I was right, though I could have easily been wrong and looked like a tit). Nothing wrong with escalating an issue because no one else has brought anything up because of assumptions. I think you did the right thing. THE CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER 16:37, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, I was wary for that above reason, plus I think pardus was one of the free speech for all people we were arguing with on discord. Please stop telling people they should feel honored to be warned by me. It's weird. Continuing to do so may result in additional requests of this variety. Aichon 08:22, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

What an honour! I was just about to joke about how now I can use this 'warning' to fulfil another bucket list item by sending you to misconduct... But I just checked through your archive and it turns out I already did! I even got you banned! DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 08:37, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

I'll still generally be available if someone pings me, but I don't plan to check in on my own otherwise. There's enough other stuff going on to keep me busy in life, and those things are the areas I'd like to be putting more of my attention going forward, so it's time to clear out the old time sinks that I've allowed to accumulate. Signature and template questions

I appreciate your help, DDR. Since you are knowledgeable about signatures, perhaps you could point me to a link that shows/explains how to take a descriptive two-line string of code that delineates a signature ("font-family", etc.) and turns it into the compact form such as your [[User:DDR|DDR]]. I want to be able to turn the strings of descriptors in mine to the compact version of Lizzie Donner.

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Catherine Cushing (talkcontribs) at an unknown time.I forgot; sorry.Catherine Cushing (talk)But the signature I tried to write doesn't have the time and date in it!!!--Catherine Cushing (talk) 10:38, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Hey Catherine. Thanks for the well wishes for London. I'm excited to see it.
So I think there are two solutions to your questions. Please correct me if you have more questions or if I didn't quite understand your queries (it's been a while since I've really troubleshot signatures).
The first answer to your question is possibly best answered here, with some examples of signature styles etc. that will still help you out with coding and what codes might make your signatures look like what.
As for your second question, I have a complex signature that appears in code just as {{User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}}when I type my "~~~~". The way you do that is to go to preferences (top right of this whole page) and go to signature and you add {{SUBST:Nosubst|User:YOUR SIG HERE}}. So for example, mine says right now, {{SUBST:Nosubst|User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5}}. You are able to go to the real page of User:DanceDanceRevolution/sig5 and see the code for yourself, but thanks to this nifty trick, all that code doesn't end up on a page every time I type the signature, the wiki just uses that code as a template.
Does that help you at all? DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 09:44, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
That is extremely helpful and very kind of you, DDR, thank you. (I didn't realize until just now that the signatures I composed have no date and time stamping function included. Ugh.) --Catherine Cushing (talk) 10:38, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
You can manually add the timestamp! Just type in ~~~~~ after you put in the template to show the sig you want. So he might be able to give you another point of view on how to do things with your alt's signatures :) stelar Talk|MCM|EBD|Scourge 11:16, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
For my side signatures, I have a subpage for them (just like a regular signature), e.g. at User:Bob Moncrief/DUSig. Then, I type {{User:Bob Moncrief/DUSig}} ~~~~~, which transcludes the side signature and then adds just the timestamp (with five tildes, as opposed to four tildes, which would also include my regular signature). Bob Moncrief EBDW! 11:58, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks all for pitching in to answer that third query that I skimmed past... Basically as Bob and Stelar have said above in regards to getting your 'alternate' signatures to appear as though you are speaking as one of your alts. (Might as well do one for this here message, by manually typing an old sig and then adding the 5 tildes.) -- DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION -- 04:10, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
This is fantastically generous of you all, and I actually understand it!!! (I believe it has also illuminated the idea of posting a template one has made on a file page, so that it actually works out in the UD Wiki world.) I can't tell you how incredibly grateful I am for your help. P.S. I wasn't sure I was allowed to insert a live link for something outside the UD Wiki, so I put spaces into the address for that w3 school tutorial thingee I found. Catherine Cushing (talk) 08:58, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Hey Catherine, thanks for your well wishes, but no need to worry- I’m still an administrator, nothing has really changed in practical terms. I’ve just handed the role of beaurecrat (a slightly higher position with an added admin responsibility) to Bob Moncrief. It’s ok and I’ll still be around 👍 DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 01:42, 16 June 2019 (UTC)

When I make pancakes the first one always sticks and gets fucked up. Any advice for me? -- SomethingSomething.gif 20:36, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
Hmm. That's a tough one. I'd recommend doing an Open Discussion for a meandering session to gain consensus on the issue, vote on the best way through Policy Discussion and if you continue to have issues bring the suggesters to Arbitration so we can bring out justice to the troublemakers. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 22:59, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that posting, DDR.

I'm not sure when I'm supposed to sign things I write (except messages like this one, obviously.) The revised parks list just seemed to be important enough to be able to back up with my work list, to document, in other words. Catherine Cushing (talk) 04:58, 2 July 2019 (UTC)

For pages like that, I'd just make the edit, and put the reasoning in the edit summary. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 12:01, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
That should have occurred to me, Bob. I'll do that if any similar situation comes up. Thanks. Catherine Cushing (talk) 10:10, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
