Good idea. And the Community Portal should go for a redo. Conversion to a [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Community portal|useful links page]], of sorts, would do better. --{{User:A Helpful Little Gnome/Sig}} 00:31, 25 June 2012 (BST)

OMG more community portal bs.xoxo 06:36, 12 July 2010 (BST)

Yes sir. When I fall, I'll weep for happiness 17:11, 12 July 2010 (BST)

main page

I think it should be made to look so the top header is just pure green like the bottom of Template:NBox and then the rest with the same border, etc. I would prefer the template look different to the small links templates below it- it doesn't fit as well with the rest of the main page imo. I would try this myself but I fail too much at code I haven't done myself and couldn't actually achieve it so we might need AHLG or aichon or RHO to do it. --

It's actually not possible to do what you want using tables in the way that we were currently using them (a quirk in the way the wiki software handles borders in tables is to blame), but if we switch it to using div elements for some of it instead, I'm guessing you want it to look like this?

I like this design better as well (plus, I cleaned up the code a bit). I'd also suggest fixing the way the edit links work and what they link to, that way wikinewbs don't have to sift through as much code to find what they need to edit. Aichon 18:21, 19 July 2010 (BST)
Fucking love you man, that's EXACTLY what I meant! I think it should be like this, so it matches the above two bordered obejcts on the main page. -- 02:18, 20 July 2010 (BST)
Awww man, I just added it, no issues on my computer so hoping I didn't break anything unwittingly, but it looks miles better, thanks heaps Aichon, you don't know how many props you get for doing that. XX -- 14:51, 20 July 2010 (BST)
Also, lol at my edit summary saying "thumbs up" instead of "fingers crossed" :/ -- 14:58, 20 July 2010 (BST)
Looks okay on my end, and yeah, I was wondering about that. :P Aichon 20:53, 20 July 2010 (BST)
Looks a lot better. I have been shown who is the boss. Not like it wasn't already obvious. ~ Red Hawk One Talk | space for lease 20:58, 20 July 2010 (BST)
Eh, I contribute how I can. I don't have the ambition to try and take on a new project like FA, so I leave that to the folks that can actually come up with the ideas and push things along. I just help clean up some details at the end. ;) Aichon 21:44, 20 July 2010 (BST)

This Month in Urban Dead

Vapor suggested this would be a good place to bring this up. As an offbranch of Project Timeline I've been working on a collation of events by month, currently housed at User:Bob Moncrief/ThisMonth. I was wondering if there would be support for adding a "This Month in UD History" portion to the Community Portal table. I'd also like any input people may have on content/format etc. Right now the page has a combination of in-game events, mechanics changes and pre-2005 backstory from the Wiki. Thanks so much! Yes. And while we're at it, fix the featured article update procedure. Nobody does it any more so it should be made more automatic. ~Vsig.png 20:19, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
Good idea. I may make a revamp of the good/featured article voting my next project (once I finish going through the last of the history pages to collate into the backstory timelines). Bob Moncrief 20:55, 24 June 2012 (BST)
It would probably be good to revamp voting but I was more referring to the process of updating the articles which appear featured on the main page. Its been a manual process for a long time but it rarely gets updated.
So here is a mock up of how Community Portal might appear with UDThisMonth included.

I edited the ThisMonth template so "This Month" and the month appear on the same line. Other than that, looks great! Bob Moncrief 21:37, 24 June 2012 (BST)

We have one of those, too. Wink UDWiki:Community Portal. It could also use an update, though.~Vsig.png 07:20, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
