Invasion?
Only hours before the launch of Operation Colt Trooper, a sweep of Roftwood showed the suburb had been under organized attack. Members of Minions of the Apocalypse were observed assaulting safehouses and resource buildings. In his capacities as ambassador, Leon Silverblood visited their forum. While at least one zed showed interest in ripping his kidneys out through his nostrils, Leon was impressed with their civility and good humor. Meanwhile, the alliance recovered most of the suburb and considered their newest enemy—the only zed force to give them even a moments pause so far. The coming battle would speak volumes about all concerned. As of this writing, the battle is ongoing.
Operation Colt Comrades
June 10, 2009 - While it did not secure the Quartly Library, the Alliance 45 did secure 80% of the suburb. Early on in the reclamation of Roftwood, the nearby Nichols Mall in Stanbury Village was endangered and the Alliance 45 moved quickly to assist. A testament to its rapid response time, the Alliance 45 was first alerted about the situation at Nichols on June 8th and then planned and launched an operation a mere two days later. However Nichols Mall fell on the same day as the planned assault so the invasion of Stanbury Village was forestalled. The Alliance then approached The Kilt Store and suggested that they recover their decimated forces in Roftwood as plans continued to be ironed out. The Kilt Store accepted and Operation Colt Comrades was relaunched on June 13th.
In a meticulously planned and tightly coordinated assault spearheaded by the Cannonball Crew and the Army Control Corps with reinforcements from 8 of the 11 other Alliance 45 member groups, the force gained control of the suburb within 6 hours and had over 90% of Stanbury Village back in human hands. The Kilt Store then recaptured Nichols Mall. The total area occupied by the Alliance 45 and its allies extended to roughly 200 city blocks. While victory was clear and absolute by the evening of June 14th, the operation was officially closed on June 18th. An occupying force was left behind to monitor and maintain the suburb as the rest of the Alliance embarked on Operation Colt Trooper.
Operation Colt .45
June 4, 2009 - Operation Colt .45 was an assault on the Quartly Library to retake it from the alleged zerger Wigglytuff. As many as five attempts by other groups had previously failed, so the Alliance 45 met with significant ambivalence from potential allies. However its first joint operation was a resounding success with the capture of the suburb using disproportionately minimal manpower. It garnered high marks and created a quiet buzz among large groups such as the DEM and RRF. A 9-man force—consisting mostly of the Cannonball Crew and a few members from the Malton Rangers and Quartly Study Group—took one quarter of the suburb immediately and held it while reinforcements arrived. Gathering momentum and allies, 80% of the suburb was under Alliance 45 control within a week.
It should be noted that the Alliance 45 never actually captured or held the Quartly Library despite Leon Silverblood's numerous attempts to make contact with the Quartly Study Group's leadership. Although Leon Silverblood assembled a team to clear it of zombies and repair it to keep the AP repair cost down, the Alliance's focus soon shifted to the next mission (Operation Colt Comrades). Meanwhile, sexualharrison and The Know Nothings arrived and successfully cleared and barricaded the Quartly Library. The library held for two days before being overrun by Wigglytuff and company.
