:I've been playing for just over 2 years and at one point, yes, I thought the game had become boring. I think the game can only become boring if you expect too much from it. I won't go through a history lesson, but when I got bored with the game, I just tried new things. Being a brain rotted human, leading groups, travelling and organising games like manhunts. At the moment I'm with a couple of groups who co-ordinate over IRC and hence it has a fun, welcome, social point to it. When I found UD got boring I just played it more casually, and it worked that way. To play UD you have to be prepared to fight for something, and when a suburb is green and it's surrounding suburbs are as such, there isn't much to fight for, only to stay for. They aren't the same thing.
:As for the balance of the game and its structure, I do think that something's wrong. A battle hasn't happened since Kevan introduced cade-blocking and de-centralised malls with the FAKs, which I don't like because I enjoyed being with a massive brethren fighting against the biggest horde there was to offer. Kevan's changed the game over time so it can serve more as a zombie apocalypse, which is great, except for the "apocalypse" part, which Malton is currently not. Survivors outnumber Zombies far too greatly and that's likely to never change in UD's current state.
:Long story short: UD gets boring when survivors dominate 70% of the game over zombies. The game isn't boring when someone like The Dead trounce the place and make every single suburb a death zone, because then you have someone to truly fight against and a true goal to achieve. At the moment, it's a bit of a wank for survivors and it's been like it for a while. ---- 02:16, 15 August 2009 (BST)
::I guess that means I do agree to some extent, but personally I don't find UD boring because I've gone to certain lengths to keep doing what makes me enjoy UD: fight back for suburbs with survivor groups in ravaged towns, and participate in manhunts with friends and other wiki users. You just have to find something Malton that keeps you coming back. ---- 02:16, 15 August 2009 (BST)

Those images

Bwah. We need a "popular images" category, and send people there before they upload an image... problem is, it'll probably be full of these bloody things ;) -- boxy talkteh rulz 12:51 8 August 2009 (BST)

Yeah, and as is the norm, no one will bother checking before they upload what is probably 50th image of Biohazard's Umbrella logo that is on the wiki. --ϑϑ 13:24, 8 August 2009 (BST)

Unlike read

i do see minor edits in rc.--xoxo 05:09, 9 August 2009 (BST)

...And? --ϑϑ 07:23, 9 August 2009 (BST)
Ah gonna play the ol' i don't understand you card, uninteresting choice. P.S can you strike me? I've earned myself annudda one. --xoxo 10:43, 9 August 2009 (BST)
If you are talking about my edits being minor recently, [1]. Hagnat complained that it would fill up recent changes so I made all edits minor while I was fixing Conndraka's fuck up. As for a strike, you don't actually have any warnings to strike at the moment. --ϑϑ 10:54, 9 August 2009 (BST)
It turns out you actually do. Sorry, long day. However, I struck you on the 14th ([2]). Sorry, you'll have to wait a few days before I can strike you again. --ϑϑ 11:56, 9 August 2009 (BST)
I get a striking a month. So 2 strikes after 2 months. It's been 2 months. I shouldn't be punished because i have to request a striking and wait for someone else to do it.--xoxo 13:53, 9 August 2009 (BST)
You get a striking one month after your last strike. You were struck on the 14th. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 13:54, 9 August 2009 (BST)
DDR speaks the truth Cyberbob  Talk  13:55, 9 August 2009 (BST)
So if all ops refuse to strike me thats cool? The case has always been it didn't matter if the physical strike wasn't there provided the grounds for having a strike had been met. I earned a strike on the 9th, so i'll earn another one on the 9th (assuming edits are met)--xoxo 13:58, 9 August 2009 (BST)
Yeah it is cool, provided your aren't legible to be struck as per the guidelines, which you aren't. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 14:01, 9 August 2009 (BST)
Keep on following the exact letter of the guidelines rather than bothering with what it actually meant. --xoxo 14:04, 9 August 2009 (BST)
Keep out of trouble for 5 days and it will have made no difference. Think you can manage it? --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 14:07, 9 August 2009 (BST)
Fuck no. And you well know it's the principle of the matter. If it was your vandalism you could strike it on the day, i have to wait for someone to bother to strike it. And they can just refuse if they like. Which is fucked. The next person to try that one i do plan on A/Ming :P --xoxo 14:17, 9 August 2009 (BST)
Fine by me, I agree that valid strikes shouldn't be refused. But for now, wait 5 days or go to someone else and see if they want to ghost the guidelines for you, because I'll tell you something right now. I have no intention of sidestepping the guidelines for anyone, lest my supposed ex-clique-buttbuddy-partner-in-crime, sorry. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 14:30, 9 August 2009 (BST)
Since when has any sysop outright refused to strike an escalation when the requirements have been met? Also can I just say how faggoty that passive-aggressive ":P" smiley is? Cyberbob  Talk  14:21, 9 August 2009 (BST)
I grant you my permission to say how faggoty it is. Also i forget who it was. I think SA, i asked on his talk and he said "Oh i don't go on that page" or something. Might have been karek actually. I didn't complain coz by the time i'd logged on someone else has already got it, perhaps boxy.--xoxo 14:24, 9 August 2009 (BST)
It was Nubis. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 14:30, 9 August 2009 (BST)
Ergh, should have known...--xoxo 14:36, 9 August 2009 (BST)
Well if it happens again - and assuming that the requirements have actually been met - I would say it's definitely worth at least a mention on the A/VB talk page. It's not something that I can see being worthy of an A/M case 90% of the time but it shouldn't happen. Cyberbob  Talk  14:34, 9 August 2009 (BST)

Categorizing.

Hey, thanks for all the categorizing you have done for my images, I forget so easily. pyxzer 12:01, 10 August 2009 (BST)

Re: SuperNewb

It was vandalism strike one, I'll talk to them if they can be bothered coming back for more ... or you can chase them down as you see fit.

This needs to be addressed...

I really need something addressed. I'm tired of the way people are treating each other, constantly belittling each other here. It has got to stop. Frankly, I'd assume that the Five Pillars of Wikipedia would apply here. If not, something needs to be implemented similar to that.

I don't much appreciate being talked to like I was by I'm a motherfuckin' lyrical wordsmith motherfuckin' genius! here,... Or general subject matter contained here. I can deal with minor cursing, and being put down to an extent.... but seriously, I've had enough of the abuse. I'd appreciate someone putting some sort of limitation on how far it can go. -Poodle of doom 01:51, 13 August 2009 (BST)

Fuck off! Stop running around to sysops pages trying to get them to do something and make a fucking policy!!! --xoxo 02:06, 13 August 2009 (BST)

That could be addressed too.... -Poodle of doom 02:18, 13 August 2009 (BST)

Stop running around and crying to mummy and daddy sysops about being picked on and fucking do something about it yourself, maybe you will get some respect by having a well thought out policy or a nice slick argument back at one of us, rather than crying to the nearest (see:all) sysop whenever someone says a naughty word. Faggot.--CyberRead240 03:27, 13 August 2009 (BST)

Look at the big words fly!! And then pick on someone cause they can't spell! Thanks to all your intellegent ramblings, the world is a whole lot gooder now!! -Poodle of doom 03:52, 13 August 2009 (BST)

Grow a thicker skin and/or ignore them. This isn't a second-grade playground where everyone has to be nice to each other. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 03:56, 13 August 2009 (BST)
"Thanks to all your intellegent ramblings, the world is a whole lot gooder now!!".....I rest my case.....what do you expect mate, if you are an idiot you will be treated like one. Also, learn to fucking indent, ton continue a conversation, you indent, when you edit, look at what the other posters have done to reply to you. You stupidity is boundless.--CyberRead240 04:44, 13 August 2009 (BST)

There is no civility policy on this wiki, they have every right to say what they are saying. The thing is, 90% of the abusing comments on the deletions votes were not personal attacks but only in response to the tameness of the deletions case. As for Read and co, they are shitstirrers and are looking for a reaction from their behaviour, your responsibility is to stop giving it to them.

As for DCC's comment on the open discussion, DCC notoriously swears a lot and it is 100% within his right.

Basically, as per Jed and Read, there's nothing the admin can do to help you or enforce your wishes. It isn't because we are bad sysops, or we like to see this happen, but because the structure of the wiki prevents us from having any authority in stopping user X saying user Y is gay. As for the 5 pillars, a majority of them don't apply to UDWiki at all, namely in this case the fact we don't have a Code of Conduct. The best you can do is to go to arbitration and request something that necessitates your wishes. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 05:43, 13 August 2009 (BST)
