Moderators
Striking Out Votes
You could try and see how people react, at the moment there is some disambugation if thats allowed. You doing that might make make it more clear. But me doing it, Yep thats certianly allowed, I could've argueably striken out the entire vote on the basis that is what meant to troll and have enough of a reasonable case for it not to be abusive of my powers as a wiki moderater. But seriously, why such a pissy note? It's not like I invalidated your vote or that the damn thing stayed up.--Vista W! 18:45, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- You seriously do need to read how this wiki is set up. It's a wiki not a forum, moderators don't have any extra power, we've got extra duties. we're not the tsars, we're the clean up crew. users make the rules and we follow them out. I'm sad your losing your faith in some of the users. be glad that you aren't a moderater because then you'd really lose your faith in all users. Want me to crack down on certian user, why haven't you reported them? I specically mentioned that as a possibility. you might want to reread my comment though, I don't think you're allowed to strike out votes, but read the suggestion talkpage on the discussion about that. I certainly do think that vote was trolling because all it was about was how grim s couldn't touch it, njeener njeener. Well yeah that might have maked a good case.--Vista W! 19:23, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- May I also say that the reason that we're not doing anything about people like rasher and scinfaxi is because we can't. I don't like the status quo but there is nothing I can do to change it. What do you want me us to do about rasher and scinfaxi? We're in the strange position where people are complaining that we're sitting idle, not doing anything, but would report us for misconduct if we actually did do something.--The General W! Mod 19:48, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- But how do I define it in the rules? Users aren't prepared to give us any discretion so they certainly won't allow us to punish people simply because we feel that what they are doing is wrong.--The General W! Mod 19:57, 13 May 2006 (BST)

The problem yes, we do have our hands bound. we forbid ourself to make policy because we are the one enacting it. seperation of powers. We should not be the ones doing that. regular users that won't get those powers should decide how many control they want to give out. All our terrible powers are indeed checked. MEANING that we can only use them if cerian conditians are met. You keep blabering about how we don't crack down on certian users and I told you twice to report them if they did something we can actually use against them. You thought that Rasher deserved a warning, fine REPORT HIM. is that so hard to do? This is a wiki, our role is not that of policeman. I may only use my "power" when it meets the right conditions so your lovely little comment is totally crap as you want me to use my power were I am not allowed to. so yeah that means my 'powers' there are non-excistant. You want moderaters to do stuff there not allowed to in one case. But as soon as I do something to lower the hostilaty of the suggestions page in a way I'm allowed, you suddenly threathen me with vandalism or misconduct. Wauw, color me impressed. And what is your responce when we say that to avoid such drama is a reason why we make sure that we don't do anything we're not allowed? "It's all your fault for not giving yourself arbitrally more power!" Again this is a wiki, what stops you from trying to give us more power? why must the moderator team take the lead in something they very sensible refrain from when every bloody user can do that. The moderator team is not here to whipe the wiki's bottom, only to take responcibilaties that need trusted users to do. I specifically noted that the suggestion page whould be one of the places I whould be enforcing the rules on when I applied for promotion, as people have always complained that we didn't use our powers enough on that page, but as soon as we do, OMG! go do something usefull!!!! Want me to warn somebody? Make sure that I can. and stop whining when I don't want to do something that I'm not allowed in the first place. I have to deal with that drama way more then you, and I'm quite likely more sick off it as you. So I don't want somebody going all selfrightious against me for actually upholding the rules.--Vista W! 21:31, 13 May 2006 (BST)
I'm actually considering doing research and finding out whether or not it's valid to bring you up on Vandal Banning for altering my vote, As it was done in my capacity as moderater, it would probably been revered to misconduct once you filled a report. So yes, your comment did imply a misconduct case. You also seem to have read over that I said it was the seperation of powers, and the extremely bad form of increasing your own power, and the fact that everybody else whould be in a better position to do it that makes us weary of proposing policy changes that whould increase the powers of a mod not the fact that we would be good at it. I'd like to believe that I whould be extremely good at it, as I have done it multiple times in real life to everybodies contentment even though I'm also a very busy person in real life. As for the fact that striking out will appearntly make the sggestions page more hostile instead of less, well I really doubt that. will it make me less liked and my talk page a hotbed some people disagreeing with me? Perhaps, but I never was somebody who cared what people thought about me. I as there were a lot of people who didn't like it, or won't react like you did, So i think that on general it'll work for the best. excluding me perhaps, but mheh I can deal with that. Hagnat, who you deemed so soft as to possibly be worthy of misconduct banned scinfaxi. I would have done it sooner. but that is the randomness of the draw. And if you didn't suggest that the moderater team could give themselves arbitraly more powers I misunderstood the part about cracking down on certain users more. Because I like to think that we actually try to give impartial judgements according to the rules and the merits of the edits that get reported. as we are compelled to do. But you are right I could've simply misunderstood that.
However dispite all that is said, I am glad that you are working on policy and I look forward to seeing it. And I am also glad that you have intervened between the bobs and amazing without resorting to treaths or bans, You let it sound however like I did not, and that is luckily not the case as I arbitrated in wiki-gate, rewrote NPOV at their requests, Etc. I also want to say that I'm quite happy that you check vandal banning so much, and I should not have said my comment that way as I have indeed no knowledge how many times you do check. If you are interested in my involvement, I try to check up between every single edit made on those pages between 8.00BST to 16.00 BST, and less frequently I try to check up between every single edit from 20.00 BST to 23.00 BST. Due to the nature of my work I can usually only react to them during my lunch and coffee breaks or in the evenings.
I'm still at a loss were all this comes from, all I did was doing something a lot of people voiced the moderator team should be doing more. Next thing I know I get accused of abusing power, placing myself above you, (while I should have kept my composure, I do fail to see how calling your, in my opinion not well worded complaints, whining means I whould think myself better then you. But english is not my first language, it that is the meaning is I retract it.)and lot of spoken and unspoken resentment to the moderator team. I think our exchange hasn't been productive in adressing what bothers you. I can only blame myself for going head first into the situation instead of trying to devuse it. I have no excuse other then I am currently a bit feeverish. I want nothing more to resume this conversation on a more productive level. What is your specific problem with me, and your problem in general with the moderater staff? Who are the militant users who are abusing the system within the rules that plague the moderater team so? looking forward to your response.--Vista W! 23:25, 13 May 2006 (BST)

About that Template: EtiquetteSmall : I had problems with it, didn't show the top color in Firefox, so I tried to fix it, but accidentally changed the color :D Fixed it again, this time with correct color. Re: Amazing Banning
The problem with Amazing is that's he's not a minor case. Mr. Aushvitz may have been a bit annoying, but no one would have tried to get rid of him instantly. Some people talked with him, and he immediatly tried straightening up. Even then, his "problem" was only limited to one page. Amazing's crud is spread all over the place and it's been going on for a long time. People have tried to get him to straighten up, and he's blown each and every one of them off. Finnally, he has publicly stated that he hates the Wiki and thinks the mods and the owner suck. As for his contributions, they're rather lame. He doesn't have to be gone forever, but every once in awhile you need to "slap" someone to get the point accross that thier shite won't be tolerated. --SirensT RR 15:30, 22 April 2006 (BST)

Useful Flare Idea
That would dilute their use. For instance if I'm looking for a green flare and the message of a green flare is (many zombies here) if I just keep finding red, yellows, and white flares that'd make it impossible for someone to communicate effectively with this. Hi. I know you voted kill initally for the "Double Stats" suggestion due to experience concerns, but if you look at the talk page for it, it has been addressed. I don't think Kevan would allow it to be a problem anyways. Right now, the votes for this suggestion are 20 Keep and 11 Kill. Considering what I just told you, if you could help me get my suggestion into Peer Reviewed, that would be great. You don't even need to vote "Keep". If you just removed your kill vote, that would be enough. I'd really appriciate it. Thank you.
