20080206 Rapid Fire Weapons

Landfill 16:11, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion type Items

Suggestion scope
Survivors

Suggestion description
Adds a weapon with multiple shots into the game.

Now before you kill this suggestion, hear it out. This weapon (i can't think of a good name) would work like this: It would have an ammo capacity of 14 shots per clip, and when fired would throw out three bullets instead of one. What happens is, when fired at a group it would hit the first target and two others doing 3 damage to each and each bullet having a chance to hit based on the hit% of the firearm (i'm thinking around thirty percent at max). when fired at a single target, the first bullet hits the target and the other two are wasted This weapon only targets Zombies OR Survivors, not both.

This weapon could be found at police stations and forts and would have about a 7% chance to find.

Flak jackets would reduce the damage of each bullet to 2 damage.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep with a capital K Grim_s has gone off the deep end. If you feel so strongly about nerfing, start a petition to have the recent undead buffs removed. You can't have it both ways, you whining hypocrite. TerminalFailure 11:24 Febuary 6th 2008 (EST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill- This is the rapid-fire weapon suggestion I've seen and, if you imrove the suggestion, could be a good idea.Studoku 16:36, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
  2. Kill - Meh. At least you bothered to think it out a bit, but Grim's right you know.--SeventythreeTalk 18:27, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
  3. Kill - Grim, in the end, any and all implemented new suggestions will nerf something until the survivors or zombies get used to it. (Other than system changes). As for me, I'm killing this based solely on that this has been suggested before without much success, simply because the mechanics could never be straightened out. As for what you would've called it, there are various pistols that are capable of burst-fire (a Beretta being one of them). --Private Mark 23:55, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - Ive said it before, and ill say it again. Adding a new firearm to the game results in one of two things happening: A net survivor buff, or a newbie survivor nerf. How? It all comes down to find rates. If you simply put a new weapon and ammunition on top of the existing find rates, you increase survivor power because they can find weapons and ammunition more easily, which makes them overall more powerful as they dont need to search as much to find ammunition and weaponry, especially if they have all the gun skills, which will happen sooner, rather than later. On the other hand, if you reduce the find rates for everything else gunlike, you nerf newbies who will have a harder time finding weapons and ammunition that meet their specific skill set. Also, overall, you nerf those weapons pretty hard too for everyone, since ammunition is harder to find. There is no way to impliment any new firearm without doing either of the previous, and cockup the pretty good balance for guns in the game. It simply cannot be done. --The Grimch U! E! 2. Spam - Area of Effect weapon. This has been suggested and rejected about a million times. Also, WAY overpowered. Also...how does a bullet differentiate between zombies and survivors so that it only hits one side, even if everybody's in the same room? Totally non-believable. - Headshot Hal 16:20, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
  3. Spam - The only people who will vote keep for this are the same people who should stop voting on suggestions because they don't think before they vote. It's an incomplete suggestion, it's AOE(overpowered), Flak jackets reduce damage by a percent of the damage so it would be a huge buff to Flak Jacket strength, and it's a new gun, something that can only weaken survivors by diluting searches.--Karekmaps?! 16:32, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
  4. Spam - As Headshot Hal. Also I'd like to remind Terminal Failure that the Bash crushed Creedy without the need for the update. -- Iscariot 16:37, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
  5. Spam - AOE, plus Grim's copyrighted text. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 17:41, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
  6. Spam - The suggestion is somewhat incomplete (Talk:Suggestions is a helpful place), new guns like this have been suggested a load, AOE, etc. --Z. slay3r Talk  18:06, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
  7. Spamtastic! - No rapid fire, ever. This is way unbalanced too, I suggest you take a good look at the frequently suggested ideas page first, then upon finding an idea, look at the statement made on the Talk:Suggestions page to give you an idea of ideas which are circulating at the moment, hence seeing the kind of reactions they recieve. Also, I had no idea that Grim's 'anti-gun' speech was copyrighted. Acoustic Pie 18:24, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
  8. Spamizzle - As Grim, also I would like to add that the bash AND random feral zeds took down creedy... --/~Rakuen~\Talk Domo.gif I Still Love Grim 18:44, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
