The Rottary Club

I hereby invite all members of brainROT RUM to join the Rottary Club! (It's like a gentlemans club, but instead for people/zombies with brainrot only. Note: NOT a group.) Welcome! -- PROJECT K9 | FSmallFUfinger.jpgUTalk | Rottary 16:01, 18 October 2007 (BST)

Hiya. I think it's time for me to try out both pking and brain rot. i've got a character ready with enough xp to buy brain rot (and headshot that he didn't take so far). Of course it's a pity that i'll be left without a non-metagame dualnature roleplaying traveller character, but rising new one is not an option. --~~~~T''' 13:12, 1 September 2007 (BST)

Is he/she level 42? Could you provide a profile ID? Thanks. You're also better off to register on the PKer Hub as well. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 13:43, 1 September 2007 (BST)
Hangrah Hragrah. PKer Hub? --~~~~T''' 13:46, 1 September 2007 (BST)
It's in the group box on the main BRR page. Under 'contact' or something. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:31, 1 September 2007 (BST)
arhh... hate more forums. hate more metagaming. i'll see if i'll be in mood to register there --~~~~T''' 14:44, 1 September 2007 (BST)
Yeah I do too. Hence my decline with the SSZ and the failure of a Surrealist revival. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:48, 1 September 2007 (BST)
I'd like to say you have a very interesting group! If I get one of my alts strong enough I may have them join. The challenge of playing with rot is very tempting...--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|ZC|MI|E! 02:20, 13 March 2008 (UTC) 06:43, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

An Evil Plan

This nefarious scheme aims to imprison trenchcoaters in Fort Creedy, in order to 're-educate' them. Lots of killing involved. Interested? -- Bob Fortune 14:59, 16 August 2007 (BST)

Info and Talk for Group Use

brainROT RUM/recruit

A page for our recruitment ad. Gets included on the main Recruitment page via curly brackets.

How to Spell / Typographically Represent the group name

If we ever want to break onto the stats page, we all need the same exact spelling in our profile. That should be the one shown in the group page title, or at least one that has a page that re-directs here. For now, that hardly matters, of course. In fact, the more variations, the better. Just make sure to do a re-direct page to point people from your spelling to the brainROT RUM ☣

page.

Also, here's a template to typographically represent the group: {{Brr}} = brainROT RUM ☣

Logo Images & Membership Roster

{{BrrFlags}}

150}px BrrLOGO8-7-07SDW.png
DuxBrrLogo.png BrrLogo8-5-2007-Swiers.png

As discussed below, there is unique "flag" for / by each group member, all of which will be displayed when showing a "group logo". Images to be used this way should be about 10K in size, although there may be a larger "master" image for other use. Guidelines for flags are below, but the theme is pretty obvious, eh? Adding your flag is pretty easy. The table code (stored as a template) explains where to add your new image, and each image shows a member name when you "hover" on it.

If that's too confusing, just post a link to your image (as hosted here on the wiki) and I'll put it in the table. You don't HAVE to make your own image- you could request somebody make one for you.

Because the one skull is looking kinda cookie cutter.

Propaganda and Other Hijinks

Whats a group of egotistical scallywags without demonstrations of bravado? Nothing, I tell you.

Calling Card and Looting Locations:

If possible, brainROT RUM leaves a "calling card" whenever it strikes as a group, placing a skull near the dead bodies, with the letters "B, R, R" on it in the vitims' blood.

  1. The Backholer Museum (90, 11) in Pescodside
  2. The Carslake Museum (5, 18) in Roywood

Terminology

Whats with all those pussies who can't even manage to make it to level 42, eh? Here's some things to call them:

  • virgin
  • pink brain - in zambash: b!ng bra!n
  • one short of the answer
  • !=MAXXED
  • minus one
  • almost there
  • thaumaticly unevolved
  • pathetic noobz
  • lightweight (low tolerance level for 'needle')
  • germiphobe
  • clean bean
  • wholehead

Conversely, any survivor with brainrot is good in my books. Here's a few names / terms to use for them:

  • true blue 42
  • brain brother - in zambash: bra!n brahzah
  • trans-mortal human
  • open minded
  • fearless
  • all the way
  • final step
  • this brain goes to 11...

Page and Group Policy Discussions

Official Policy

I added a new "official policy" section to the group page. I think this may be the only one we need; it conveys the groups purpose rather well. As such, we should be targeting Level 41 characters with 100+ XP, if we are not already. Hey, we didn't want this to be EASY, right? ΔΔΔ Swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGOgrey.png 17:58, 4 August 2007 (BST)

Uniform?

Yeah, just like any other group, let's debate whether we should have a uniform! I personally think that individuality should be key to this group in regards to flavor, so I think that at least one article of clothing in a certain color (red, for instance) would be enough. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 06:26, 2 August 2007 (BST)

If any color makes sense, I say go for Mustard Yellow. Two members already have it, and it clashes wonderfully with so many things. Plus, its a good "rot" color, and we can adopt "Mean Mister Mustard" as our theme song / imaginary mascot.
  • Rot1 Wearing: a pair of sunglasses, a black top hat, a pendant necklace, a mustard yellow T-shirt, torn and blood-flecked dark green overalls, a fake fur coat and a pair of tartan slippers
  • Pestilence MK2 Wearing: a scratched gas mask, a blood-flecked brown bandanna, a torn and blood-flecked black T-shirt, a tattered and bloodstained brown leather coat, a tattered and blood-soaked pair of grey jeans and a scraped and blood-flecked pair of brown leather boots. (lots of brown, none of the clothes are available in Mustard)
  • Karloth Vois Wearing: a pair of safety goggles, a museum staff peaked cap and a mustard yellow dress
  • Dr Beebo Wearing: a tattered and blood-flecked mustard yellow short-sleeved shirt, a torn white lab coat, a torn and blood-flecked pair of tan trousers and a blood-soaked pair of brown shoes
  • Dead Animal Wearing: a tattered and bloodstained black jacket Dead Animal 08:44, 12 August 2007 (BST)
  • Fishywolf Wearing: a mustard yellow T-shirt, a pale yellow jacket, a pair of mustard yellow trousers and a pair of tan boots
Fishywolf has donned his horrible colored mustered yellow clothes already!! --Fishywolf 10:35 (PST) 11 August 2007

Color Scheme / Group Page Design

Lovin' it Swiers. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 09:20, 2 August 2007 (BST)

Logos

Alternate Logo?

I think this one is creepier, and "says" more about the group. Karloth gets final say as to if it violates Red Rum trademarks. __Swiers__BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png_ 03:50, 30 July 2007 (BST)

You are right there Swiers about it being more about the group, however I honestly prefer the other one. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:12, 30 July 2007 (BST)

Hope you don't mind but I took some of my spare time to do this incase you didn't figure out what you needed or wanted. It's not exactly the best and I might do a better version in the future if I have more time and you would like one. I'd just need to know how you'd want it.--Karekmaps?! 10:38, 1 August 2007 (BST)

Nah, I like it a lot Karek, well done. I was thinking of doing one or two versions of it myself to suggest. Maybe we could all submit a few, then vote on which one we like? I mean, nothing wrong with Swier's one (not that one above, the other one with the syringes). Only 3 colors keeps it nice and simple. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 00:31, 2 August 2007 (BST)
I like it, Karek. As noted below, we migh as well have multiple logos. I made one titny change; PNG is a reall bas format for saving "noisy" images like that, so I made it a JPG with a whoppingly huge compression ratio.
Indeed, if we are gonna have multiple logos, the fils size of each becomes an issue. Keep them under 10K. It's not hard, because the color scheme is so basic. Either posterize the colors and make it a PNG, or save it as a JPG with a high compression. ΔΔΔ  Swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png 04:00, 2 August 2007 (BST)

Why have just one logo?

Karek did a nice job, and pirate logos are hardly mass produced, right? So, here's the brainROT RUM logo: each member makes their own, and its got to be square, using white, black, and red only. They are pirate flags that combine at least 3 of the following 4 elements; blood, a skull, syringes, and the letter B,R,R.
And then we'll just put ALL the logos on the group page. So, we have three logos and 4 members, right? Pick one, or make your own. Individuality to the hilt, baby. And it is a fun way to show off our membership tally, too... ΔΔΔ  Swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png 03:51, 2 August 2007 (BST)

On that note, I also suggest a group "calling card". Every place we do a hit as a group, should leave a skull and some graffiti. ΔΔΔ  Swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png 04:08, 2 August 2007 (BST)

Oh man, sweet! RP'ing to the max! --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:54, 2 August 2007 (BST)
' Note: Unlike other museum pieces, Skulls take 6% Encumbrance 'Urgh, a little annoying. Oh well. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 11:13, 2 August 2007 (BST)
Yeah, but on the upside, about half the museum searches that net you something, net a skull. Another upside is, survivors can't damage decorations, so they will be there until zombies ransack the place. MUCH better than graffiti. ΔΔΔ  Swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png 14:47, 2 August 2007 (BST)
Man Dux, I love the one you made, especially the skull in it, almost makes me want to put an alt in the group.--Karekmaps?! 10:16, 2 August 2007 (BST)
Eh, it wasn't too hard. Just lots of cutting and fiddling around. Masking effects and layering really. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 11:12, 2 August 2007 (BST)
Yep, this is a great project to cut your teeth on if you've never played with masks and opacity, because the B&W layers make perfect "stencils".
Dux, your image is a good example of an image that saves much smaller as a PNG than a JPG: Image:DuxBrrLogo.png. ΔΔΔ  Swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png 14:45, 2 August 2007 (BST)
Hmm, ok I see. The edges are a little rough, but hey I'll be shrinking it down anyways. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 01:04, 3 August 2007 (BST)
Use the original if you need it full size, say on your own user page. The smaller file size is just for where we'd be putting a bunch of 150PXed version in the table above. I just don't want this page to have 1Mb of images once we get a dozen members... ΔΔΔ  Swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGOgrey.png 04:36, 3 August 2007 (BST)
Oh, I get what you are saying, alright then. Yeah. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:18, 3 August 2007 (BST)

Categorisation

I put a little entry onto the death cultist page about Rot Rum, if anyone else is interested in expanding on. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 08:54, 3 August 2007 (BST) Italic text

Eh, I don't know if I'd consider brainROT RUM ☣
death cult group. While level 42 zombies are not inferior, they also are not brain brothers - although they are one step closer to that goal than a pink brain is. ΔΔΔ Swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGOgrey.png 19:24, 4 August 2007 (BST)

Unofficial Home ground?

Not much point other than RP'ing really - want to designate a home-ground or base? Like the smaller power station or a certain NT or something? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:45, 5 August 2007 (BST)

Maybe we could claim the Brain Museum as a "home port". The theme fits, and its not to far from our current location. Within 9 blocks of Brain Museum, there are 10 NTs, 14 PDs, and a mall. It is a resource rich area, so to speak. The area Has a historically low bounty hunter pressence, and currently hosts a lot of PKers. The only downside is that It may be a contested location; I think Shacknews and some other groups claim it also. But seeing as we are effectively a roaming pirate band, it could just be our "main port", and thus, the more other scalywags call it home, the better!SIM Core Map.png Swiers 16:36, 12 August 2007 (BST)

Player Killer Olympics

I'd like to again formally invite BrainROT RUM to participate, and I hope to list you. Really, if only one person participates, that's the group as far as I'm concerned.

Also - I have invited Swiers to be part of the Player Killer Olympic Committee (PKOC or Peacock) - he'd be a vote to resolve any issues that come up. Also if he were so inclined, you could help verify submissions. This would not be required though, as I am sure I'll wind up doing most of that.

I'd be fine if Swiers didn't want to do it, to accept another candidate.

Let me know, thanks!! --Squid Boy 16:24, 1 September 2008 (BST)
