Mod Conspiracy & Wiki Monitors

I made a blatant copy of your group with the intention of running it myself. I have nothing against your group: in fact, I think I would have joined it if it have been active, but neither you seem to dedicate much time to it nor other users to take it seriously (Xoid and Gage are members). With the intention of making a greater record of whatever happens on the Wiki that concerns Mod behaviour, I made my group. I respect you very much and I hope you see this as I do: unwillingness to let a good idea die in oblivion. Heh, well there hasn't been much happening (that I've seen) recently to report on. Anyway I don't mind you making a group based off mine, plus I decided to make it more of a joke then anything else because otherwise people would get offended. I do have one peice of advice though, don't say anything which is not true and cannot be backed up by diffs. Speculation is ok as long as it's stated in a way that it's not presented as fact. It's a joke so not all of it's true =P (but I've never been that flash hot with humour so it may need some tweaking)

This user supports the use of humor, even when other people don't get it.
Anyway the main reason that I put WMM as part of the mod conspiracy and not WM is that WMM has a Mod in it (Gage) where as WM completely stops mods from joining. If you want to you can join up and re-write the article if you don't like how its presented. If you check the FAQ people are allowed to re-write an entry. "Any articles that don't conform to an appropiate standard will be re-written (and probably re-written again)" I hope that answers your question, if not let me know I'll try and answer it better. - JedazΣT ΞD GIS S! 08:05, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I try my best. Anyway I would like to thank you, I just couldn't quite figgure out how I wanted to say it. I seem to have a problem with how things come out, and that probably leads to the majority of friction between us so I'm sorry for that. But I have to say that you really arn't as half as bad as I use to think you were at one stage, and that you don't really deserve half the crap that you get (as with most of the sysops). It is simply putting enough templates onto a page to where it it will no longer load, preventing use of the page by normal users until a sysop reverts the damage. Are you forgetting that with NT employment that it's currently a 0% chance to revive? 10% is better then 0%. With Lab Experience currently it's 10AP for a 100% chance to revive, but with this suggestion it'll cost 12.5AP, which although is a slight nerf at the raw revive costs it is made up for in the amout of times you need to search for the revive serum. The revive costs when you have necronet employment with this suggestion is 10AP. Looking at the raw revive costs doesn't look as good, however there is also the search rates to take into consideration. Assuming a 10% chance to find these vials it would take 10AP to find one vial plus one to load it, which you can use to revive 1.6 zombies, so thats 6.875AP more per revive making 16.875AP with necronet and 19.375AP with Lab Experience. Oh well, it's not really that big of an issue now because it seems like the idea's not going to fly. Well theres two good reasons I don't use a templated signature. The first is that the time in my signature wouldn't stay at the time I signed, the second is that I don't want my signature to look like {{User:Jedaz/Sandbox/Sig}} when there are too many signatures on the page. nic breakup

I see you are the one who originally split nic into four parts. I assume this was due to some limitation on how many templates / other includes you can use on a page via braces.
Well, it looks like we have the problem again, likely due to adding the {{nts2nic|s=SUBURB_NAME}} tag to each suburb section.

Heh, there you go. It's simple enough to do though. Basicaly theres a color atribute for the style of <span>, you can read about the span tag and CSS. That should give you an idea in the future if you ever want to do that kind of stuff. I've been wondering, how do you get the date inserted into you sig? Whenever I use a magic word or just the ~~~~~ inside a template, it changes to the date I'm editing the template, rather than being shown as the date on which that template is being inserted into a new page. I ask because I'd like to alter the date in this sig so that its a bit more obviously a sig, without loosing its minimalism. 12:35, 17 June 2007 (BST)
Ah, thats simple. You can do it one of two ways. The first is to have a subst variable. So what you do is add in your dates and times. Eg {{{{{subst|}}}CURRENTMONTHNAME}}. Then in your prefrences you call your signature like this {{User:Username/Signature|subst=subst:}}. That is one way of altering the date. The second option is to do it via the Boxy Method (well thats what I call it =P)
Boxys method is where you "exclude" the subst in the code. You can see this in the {{NewSug}} template. What you do more or less is put <includeonly> tags around the Subst:. For example like this... {{<includeonly>Subst:</includeonly>CURRENTYEAR}}.
Both methods work just as well, however Boxy's method is more newbie friendly, and thus it is used in the {{NewSug}} template. However whichever method you use you will have to learn to sign with 3 ~'s. I hope that answers your question. - JedazΣT 11:48, 17 June 2007 (GMT)

Cool, that is way simple. Just the sort of compact, newb friendly code I like. Will it also work in normal templates? I ask because sometimes I've made templates where I'd like the date the template is first put on a new page to appear in the template. Iwitness update

I bought a domain & host. I'm pretty psyched- the url for Iwitness will be iwitness.urbandead.info- which is exactly what the website does! (Yes, Kevan said it was OK to buy that domain.) I set up a forum on the host so I can get feedback, and also for collaboration with other programmers down the line. Right now its pretty bare bones- no need for any pretty stuff or secret rooms yet. The forum is www.urbandead.info/forum.

I'm really close to having a functioning system up on the web. Once I do that, it will start to make sense to collaborate with others, dividing up various tasks / upgrades that can be done independently of the others. 21:42, 17 June 2007 (BST)
