  8. I'll vote for boxy at the next BP. And then attempt to push through a policy to make Aichon and boxy permanent crats. -- †  talk ? f.u. 10:36, 9 October 2012 (BST)
  9. Aichon is a sys-op who is level-headed, knowledgeable about wiki law and neutral - traits that are of importance to any crat. He's also much more active than Boxy lately. -- Spiderzed 14:31, 12 October 2012 (BST)

Lies! My inactivity has been extremely consistent Tongue :P -- boxy 09:13, 17 October 2012 (BST)

Boxy

Spiderzed

  1. Boxy too inactive. I don't wanna risk having crat turn Aichon off udwiki faster than it already will. SZ is a good guy, I'd trust him, sort of. A ZOMBIE ANT 01:48, 8 October 2012 (BST)
  2. Boneshred The Hungry 23:10, 8 October 2012 (BST)
  3. Was disappointed to see Boxy didn't have any input on the last RE. SZ has a good understanding of wikilaw and largely makes sound calls. Gordon 01:03, 9 October 2012 (BST)

Ineligible Candidates

  • Rosslessness - Current bureaucrat.
  • The General - <12 edits in the last 30 days.

Withdrawn Candidates

Axe Hack

Real life is a bit too hectic for me right now to even consider being interested in this seat. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 22:53, 7 October 2012 (BST)

Karek

I've never actually really wanted to be crat this is just the first time I've been able to remove myself before someone voted for me. If someone votes for me I always feel obligated to not remove it for the same reason I never removed myself from my initial promotions bids. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 02:13, 8 October 2012 (BST)

Result

Aaand the election is over. Congratulations to Aichon, and many thanks to Boxy for his long time of service as a crat. -- Spiderzed 23:20, 21 October 2012 (BST)

Demoted/Promoted as by the will of the community. Thanks to all involved. I'll see you all in a few months when you can play musical chairs for my seat. word of warning, I won't be running. --Ross Less Ness Enter Stranger... 23:34, 21 October 2012 (BST)

It seemed like such a good idea two days ago didn't it Aichon. :P --Open the Box Org XIII Alts 23:46, 21 October 2012 (BST)
Aichon knew beforehand I've wanted to step out of the role. Nothing has changed that. --Ross Less Ness Enter Stranger... 23:56, 21 October 2012 (BST)
Yeah, this topic has been an off-and-on discussion on my talk page for awhile. His plans didn't change much in my thinking, since they didn't revolve around him. :P Aichon 00:20, 22 October 2012 (BST)
Hypothetically, if no one is elected bureaucrat in a few months, doesn't that mean it defaults to status quo? Which is Rosslessness still as 'crat? Because that would be hilarious and awesome. -MHSstaff 02:16, 22 October 2012 (BST)
I can't imagine a situation where no one at all would be elected, unless every single sysop was either inactive or had withdrawn. If even one remained eligible, they would, by default, be elected. And if there was a tie, see rule #6 above in Rules for starting an election. Long story short, it's unlikely that we'll have that issue. Aichon 02:37, 22 October 2012 (BST)
It happened once when... I think it was Crat A's turn to have his election, but Crat B resigned beforehand instead so an election happened for his seat. Since elections only happen ever 3 months, Crat A didn't have his seat put up for a longer period than the normal time. I think. But, (as is what happened), there are measures to make sure that doesn't happen to let in a crat for life. A crat must have one election every 8 months or something. A ZOMBIE ANT 03:14, 22 October 2012 (BST)
That's a bit different scenario, and all that would do is delay the inevitable. Ross can resign at any point and for any reason. And if he does resign as 'crat, according to the rules above he'd be ineligible as a candidate when we have the election to fill his seat. Aichon 03:19, 22 October 2012 (BST)
I'm just going to go mad, step down, put 5 or 6 users up for promotion and then sit back and watch DDR unspool. --Ross Less Ness Enter Stranger... 21:16, 22 October 2012 (BST)
