Interview with a Vigeous (Founder of the Rouge Heart Aces) By Les Nessman, BBC Reporter
Vigeous: I'm glad to get an interview. I like people to know what PKers are really like. You've seen our work before? Hmm, I think I'd like to know a little more about that. LN: Well, to be completely honest. It was actually an alter ego of mine. I can sort of blend into the shadows a little, so I won't normally be noticed that way. (nervous laughter from Nessman) LN: Sooooo, tell me about the Rouge Heart Aces. Let me know a litte about your members. I also noticed that you run an actual PKer Academy. Tell me a little about that if you don't mind. Vigeous: I joined UD in March of 2006 after having read about the PKA and groups like the Malton Mob. I ended up in Rhodenbank, scored my first kill and was a member of both Red Rum and the PKA. There is something that I must state before I continue: The RHA is a group that was formed by multiple random forces combining all at once. At the time The Rolt Heights War was still being planned (at that time it was still called Twilight Edgecombe), Red Rum was just now being called the PKer Hub, and a BHer by the name FishOutOfWater was hunting me. The Rolts event put me in "a like" for a leadership position and me being BHed gave me a new target no one had really thought about coordinating against. One day I just sent a u2u to Karloth Vois (who had taken over leadership) saying that I was leaving to start my own group. He asked if I would like to be hosted, I accepted. Members of the RHA come from various backgrounds. I think at our prime we had seven active members. TheKooks was the RHAs first member other than myself, but I owe a large debt to Sgt Beebus. He did a large spray campaign that brought us a few more members. TheDarkConquerer and Necromundus both came from a group called the Sebright Union. With five people we pulled a strike at Eligius General Hospital down in Roftwood. Unfortunately for us, this was when the LUE just happened to be munching down the entire Eastern half of Malton, so it went mostly unheard. Our next attack was on our members former group the Sebright Union. We attacked their HQ at Sebright Museum in Lerwill Heights. The attack itself brought us into a war with the Malton's Angels, who were friends with the Union. Since then Summer has ended, and we had been taking a break and working on our backlog of contracts. The PKer Academy, while not getting much attention, was the idea of Sgt Beebus. It is basically a training program we have for any new PKer who wants to level up a bit faster. Basic routines that survivors use, we use. Getting a survivor down to low health and letting them take the last shot if they want some notoriety, or they can shoot them down to low and we take them out if they want to go under the radar. But it is also there to teach new PKers how to hide, and how to hunt without the use of a scouter. That's our real danger, how we hunt! LN: Interesting, now I've never considered your group to be just another PKer group. You take up contracts on Malton residents, track down & kill the very bounty hunters that help hunt down others like yourself. You guys aren't afraid of a little challenge are you? Vigeous: I hate not having challenges, that is why we have different types of contracts. Contracts can be put on anyone that isn't allied with us. They can range from finding and killing someone, or just finding them for someone else to kill. We also take contracts on complete groups of people, for example: We got a contract from Karloth Vois on all the Super Intendents of each section in the DEM, as well as the leader of Fortress, and some other person whose name escapes me at the moment. Red Rum, as you probably know, has it's own scouter. It's a wonderful tool, if you'd like to know a persons location of last Tuesday, as someone once put it. The real gem is their profile database which holds ever single profile of anyone you've encountered. Helpful when you don't have the targets profile. Of course, all of these are only good on someone who doesn't use your techniques. Bounty hunters are just like PKers, and use many PKer techniques. Of course, they have one flaw: They are required to report their claims. Even if they get rid of all the information about where they were, I can always ask the PKer who got BHed, and if it is one of the more prevalent BHers, then there is more trail. What I do is I build a map of their last 10-20 bounty claims, look at their pattern of movement up to the most recent, and I look in the areas that I would believe them to be in. As I said, our ability to track is what makes us dangerous. LN: The RHA's were nominated for the Malton Murder Award last year right? That's quite an accomplishment seeing that your group banded together earlier that year. And you didn't just pick up one nomination but what....2? Not to mention you personally being nominated a few times also. That's no small claim! What do you attribute to the success of RHA? Vigeous: Yes, I was quite surprised at how many nominations we got for being so small and so new. There are multiple reasons for our "success": Beebus's spray campaign got our name out to people who don't normally meta-game, the PKer Hub got our name out to more traffic PKer wise, our strikes got us known on the survivor circuit, and I can't help but get into planning with other groups on those big strikes. LN: With all of the accolades that RHA has recieved, many here that read this article know that Player Killers can be a fickle group. I've seen wars come and go between the different PKer factions. Many PKer groups seem to have alliances one day, but are attacking one another the next. Have you ever found yourself caught up in these battles? Vigeous: The only time the RHA has ever been involved in the in-fighting, was when I pulled out of the PKA during the whole Leighton Kru-DEM fiasco. I, unfortunately, was in on the fiasco and the resulting split between Red Rum and CGR. Other than select members of the Philosophe Knights, I was the only one to know about Headless and various members and groups of the PKA's plan to start a war with Red Rum. Then the PKer/BHer soiree went down with me thinking I was neutral only to get shot up by the people who's secret I held. But since then things have calmed down, and I've tried with a little success, the get the PKer community on the mend. LN: Can you share a few of your favorite moments while leading the RHA's? What moments have made you shake you head & just wonder why....why the hell would they have done that? Vigeous: I have a few truely great moments. Our first contract, our first group strike going off almost without a hitch, but I think my favorite was when I decided to have Vigeous leave the RHA. It was ingame, I had logged out that night content with my hiding spot, and when I logged on the next day there was a message that read "Hi Vigeous, I'm a really big fan. It sucks to see you go." It made me feel like I had done something great. There were also a few other messages like that on some of the forums. I don't think people realize how much it means to someone when they give little compliments like that. LN: Indeed. Vigeous: As for shaking my head, well, I could say some of the infights we've had, but I wont. What I did shake my head at though, was Fort Creedy fighting the LUE. Sad, really. LN: Are there any current operatons that you can talk about? Or maybe some that you have just finished? Vigeous: For strikes? Well, there is one in the works, and you might hear about it really soon. (laughs*) LN: What other groups out there do you really have a lot of respect for? Vigeous: I have a lot, and I mean A LOT, of respect for all the older PKer groups, especially the leaders. Headless Gunner, Karloth Vois, Masque, D4rkness, Shadows, Aide, all those guys really helped me out when I first started playing, I owe them a lot. LN: As you may know, I like to play word games. Tell me the first thing you think of when I say:
LN: The PKer Hub Vigeous: Hosting for new groups. LN: Trench Coaters Vigeous: A mix between Neo, Blade, and a military warehouse. LN: Favorite Bounty Hunters? Vigeous: D J Eggman, Strayla, Ghost Guard. LN: Favorite Target? Vigeous: RCDC LN: Team Zombie Hardcore Vigeous: Team Zombie Softcore LN: Zombies Vigeous: Death Culting with the Gore Corp LN: Thank you for your time today. Vigeous: No problem.
