Contact Dropdown List Fun Colours LOL

Timestamp: Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 05:56, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Type: Menu change
Scope: People who use dropdown menus.
Description: Currently, contacts are the same colour as everyone else on a dropdown list. I'm suggesting the names in a dropdown list are colourized too.

  7. Keep - And very do-able. Here is a link to the code that could make it work. I tested it, and it does work in Firefox 2, IE 7, and Opera 9. I'm not sure what browsers UD supports, but that covers the majors. This would require very little effort, I believe... Kevan should just have to add 'class="conX" ' to each contact in the drop-down, where X is 1-9 for the colors and 10 for ignored contacts. --Matt Scott 9 14:15, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  8. Keep - Sure, why not? --ZombieSlay3rSig.png 17:00, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  9. Keep - I'm still not sure if this is possible (to have a different color for each list item in a ddl), but I vote keep for the concept anyways. As for wanting an 'off' option, how would this be annoying? Its just colored text in the drop down. --Gm0n3y 18:51, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - The idea would be good if it was actualy feasible. I've never seen any site use what you've described, and from what I've seen you can't put colours on the drop down box. I will however change my vote (and admit that I'm wrong) if you can point me to a website which the dropdown boxes have multi-coloured text. - JedazΣT MC ΞD GIS S! 06:50, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
RE: A quick google for coloured drop down menus reveals this site, with blue text on a purple dropdown menu. --Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 07:08, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  2. Kill - Easy to do with HTML/CSS - and probably almost as easy to program the PHP into the game that would make it work - but it would still be a bit annoying. Add an on/off option and you'll have my vote. --Saluton 14:54, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Confetti

Timestamp: Tryce of Thunder 16:43, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Type: Asthetic
Scope: Item
Description: When you edit your profile, there will be an option to set "your" birthday. After setting it, it can't be changed. On your birthday, if you have room in your inventory, you'll be given the item "Confetti". You can shoot this at survivor or zombie(after which it disapears like a Flare Gun), who will get the message "[Name] shot confetti at you. [Random flavor text]". The flavor could be "A lot of it lands on your head.", or "You stare at the colors as it falls to the ground.", or what have you. There is no real effect of shooting outside of the flavor text. This item will be usable by survivors and possibly zombies, since having zeds blow confetti in the faces of survivors would be damned funny.

  2. Keep - Haha, this would be neat. I'd love to blow confetti and some random survivor...or zombie. --Darkvengance 19:02, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  3. Change - Very funny as it is, but change it to the accounts birthday, not the user's birthday - that way, it would reward people who've played for a while, and would not be as open to abuse. --Saluton 05:28, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Easily open to abuse. What is to stop somebody from changing the birthday every day so that they get confetti every day? I would vote spam as humorous, but its not even funny. --Gm0n3y 19:19, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Re: you may want to try reading the suggestion before voting After setting it, it can't be changed. --Darkvengance 19:28, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

  2. Kill - OK, maybe as a limited time "search the drugstore in the mall" item around New Years day (oops, gotta wait 11 months now). But not as a birthday present. Use the option to talk if you want to do silly things like spray people with silly string on your birthday. Or scrounge up some flares and do it with style. And zombies have no trouble with birthdays- they just serve themselves as cake- "Brnhrr!" Besides, your character already has a visible "birthday" - the day they were created. If this suggestion were implemented as written, a ton of people would have "birthdays" the next week, and not many (besides new characters) after that, which is just silly. --S.Wiers X:00 20:16, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  3. Fluff - stoopid. --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 22:05, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  4. Kill Christmas trees are fine as a seasonal thing. With this since it'd always be someone's birthday you'd have confetti all the time. --Jon Pyre 23:38, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
  5. Kill This is a really pointless suggestion. Vancouver Smith 02:12, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Display AP cost for dropping items

Timestamp: Matt Scott 9 21:56, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Type: Display change
Scope: Mostly newbies
Description: When I was new to UD, I avoided dropping items at all times, because I assumed this costs AP, and so my inventory was constantly full of junk I didn't want or need. It wasn't until I randomly read it on the wiki someplace that I realized this was a free action. I suggest that next to the Drop Item field, "(0AP)" should be displayed, just like the AP cost is displayed for using and manufacturing revivification syringes, and standing up.
