Talk:Central Monroeville
July 17th
If you are headed to Newtown, check out Survivors of Newtown and post there. We can organize attempt to hook up with any survivors retreating to Newtown. Be advised of MM's location which is also being tracked on the site. --Lostcauseman 14:21, 17 July 2008 (BST)
- Moved to talk. Suburb pages are for information, not recruiting. Keep them NPOV if possible, or IC for individual reporting. No metagame crap. --The Grimch U! E! 14:40, 17 July 2008 (BST)
Moved From Main
I've moved the following off of the main page, the area is two big for either of these to be useful in any way.--Karekmaps?! 18:26, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

February 2008February 29thAs the city becomes more mapped, zombies have been seen arriving in the Miracle Mile Mall area. Survivors are asked to NOT SLEEP OUTSIDE in order to avoid giving the undead easy kills. All 4 corners of the mall are at VSB++ and powered. Interviews with local scientists have confirmed that the recent outbreaks of violence seem to be attributed to people infected with a virus that makes them largely impermiable to weapons. Reports are coming in from throughout the city that these bodies can sustain severe levels of damage which lead to temporary incapacitation, but that after some time they seem to animate again. Dr Thaddius Makbaliv of Serviatius General hospital reports that experiments conducted have determined that "Even when you cut the damn things into little pieces..the little pieces keep trying to kill you." Citizens are advised to avoid contact with the infected at all costs. Symptoms include shambling, a pale (sometimes blue) appearance on the hands and face, guttural groaning, and a hunger for human flesh. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms the Emergency Medical services are reccomending that you isolate yourself from others, preferably in a locked room with a strong door. Citizens are reminded to lock their doors, erect safe low-level barricades, and stay off the streets. In other news... The emergency relief centers being set up at local shopping malls are working swimmingly.
February 27thIt has now been two days since the outbreak. A horde of 10 zeds was seen outside of Troughbagh Drive Police Department. Reports are coming in from around the city that a few have learned to open doors. City Emergency Management services are reccomending barricades be installed at any location where people are seeking refuge. Do not, repeat, do not stay out on the street. - Crouse Way PD has been secured by local police and civilian forces, people are encouraged to join us there for the duration of the outbreak. Supplies are being brought in by those brave enough to run to the nearby mall. MILLANDSON 22:07, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

AUTOMAPPING
Alex DeWitt of the DEM has made an AutoMapping extension - please download it and check the current results here (note that the map is updated from the results every five minutes and you may have to allow ud-malton.info to install the addon before it works) --xensyriaT 06:27, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Page design
Hi, I got rid of the suburb template-thing that was on the right of the page as it doesn't really work for Monroeville and contained no useful information. Until a proper template is worked out we should try to keep this page as clean and informative as possible. --VI 15:53, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Added a map. It's too small, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it. --VI 16:13, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Please look at the West Monroeville page for a functioning map. It will have to wait for completion to have location numbers applied to buildings and whatnot, but it works much better for mapping. Sir Fred of Etruria
MMkay, i was lucky enough to spawn near north border of the city. Unlike Malton, there is "north" row - not blocks though, just blackness. Gonna scout for a bit and will update this map, doesn't look like it's united with what is on the page yet... I'll be updating this a lot now... bear with edit-conflicts if they appear --~~~~ [talk] 22:11, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- For anyone map-making, I walked some of Central Monroeville and stuck it into a horribly broken table. --Funt Solo QT 22:48, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- I added what wasn't already mapped, thanks!--Daeryon 15:13, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, I've filled in the top of 2B. It now connects to 3, though, so someone's gonna need to do a redesign. If you don't know this, 2B absolutely shows the top border of the city.--Jonathon Quimby 02:21, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I did a tiny bit of mapping on the west side: . --Mikelietz 05:11, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Barricades
Hey VI I posted this on the west monroeville dscussion page as well but do we really need everything at VS++ barricaded right now the zombies dont have memories of life yet so the cant open doors but they get xp from tearing down barricades it would be better until things progress to keep the cades very low and make sure that all doors are shut that way we are not giving free xp to the zeds.--JleggittMR 16:30, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's the plan. I've temporarily set the suburb barricade plan at VSB+2 for all buildings. Also, I've been telling the people I meet in game to get construction first. --VI 16:33, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
maps
once again, map should have coordinates. once again, look how i do User:Duke Garland/Monroe. It states clearly where the border is and these maps are "hunged into space" --~~~~ [talk] 09:03, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Call me thick, but how do you get co-ords without a GPS? --Funt Solo QT 13:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- they are in the html of the pages --~~~~ [talk] 15:03, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Anyway my concern and the reason for this section is that people took my map and removed coordinates, transforming into their "better" templates. That what's bad --~~~~ [talk] 15:04, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- UD Homing Beacon works nicely.--Karekmaps?! 00:32, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
We're all dealing with it. If you want to add coordinates, do it.--Daeryon 15:46, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- It requires deep redesign of template that is used there... I'm more into my precious User:Duke Garland/Monroe for now --~~~~ [talk] 16:09, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- The problems I see at the moment are #1. We don't know how big the burb is, so any template is only temporary. #2. We've essentially got three maps going, and don't know how one of them connects to the other two. #3. We're only getting limited feedback from people in the burb. #4. The other burbs either have no mapping efforts (or don't really exist..ie "North Monroeville), or are working on completely different map templates than we are. Once we get the size down for certain we can come up with a template that A. Has coordinates. B. Fits on the screen (probably in parts)--Daeryon 16:41, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm actually at the moment preparing to parse all maps that are present into my database and then dump result into my precious... with the coordinates - it'll be a full city map. I'll post again when done --~~~~ [talk] 20:13, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have scouted another area, the Eastern edge from the NE Corner down to the Miracle Mile Mall, it's at http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/8853/ud2mapae4.jpg, I haven't got time to add it in, could someone do that for me.--Blue sam3 20:29, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

template suggestion
Well you guys here think about including it. --Theokrat 18:45, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Rule #1 - forget about malton, start from a scratch instead. you have: Key buildings part, Phone Mast and Update bla-bla part that are not relevant for the Monroeville yet. Rest is fine and/or pretty --~~~~ [talk] 23:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

June 2008
The Mall is lit.. at least that's all I could manage so far. There are over a dozen zeds along the perimeter, so if none have breeched the mall yet they look poised to do so. Pakopako 19:25, 23 June 2008 (BST)
