Oh I intend to Michaleson. I'm going to jazz up the Friends section of my wiki page to include some templates and the like. I just typed up that stuff without doing the work on it yet. You'll see, it'll be glorious. --Giles Sednik CAPDSWA 05:45, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

BHOS

I just thought it would be good to put it there, I am sure they would like it though. Also i have to say i like your CAPD Template better than the old one. --Michalesonbadge.pngTCAPD(╯°□°)╯ ┻━┻ 19:59, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi Giles!

This is the link to our forum. Come and claim your ally status :) --D.E.ATalk 13:56, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Umbrella

Thanks for that Giles. It was only after I signed off for the night, that I realised it was only for the actual groups of the SWA, not the allies. Never mind eh. I'd added Umbrella, here too, but have now removed it. Perhaps we could split this page... the top half for the groups of the SWA, and the bottom half where allies can add their group name (or template). Just a thought though! :P --D.E.ATalk 10:09, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeh I'm thinking we need a proper allies section. Maybe something marked by a button at the top that links to a subspace of the SWA wiki. Been busy with work lately and haven't had the time to set it up but I'll get something going here soon. Laters! --Giles Sednik CAPDSWA 19:29, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Brain Virus

This should be under your user namespace. Just informing you that I have put in a move request to have it moved from Brain Virus to User:Giles Sednik/Brain Virus, so you aren't confused. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION (TALK | CONTRIBS) 00:52, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

I know what you mean, and while I agree that both C.R.A.P. and Civility can and should belong in the main space, but the first ones informative because it represents a movement, and the latter is humourous. Brain Virus is a concept piece and suggestion concepts usually go under user namespaces, like sandpits. Don't worry, just keep editing it on the page that it's on, if it gets moved at all, it'll all get carried over and you'll be notified by me. Hey there bud.

How are yah? Thanks for complimenting me on my wiki, spent a lot of time working on it and I'm glad there's people out there that like it. Those are some nice templates (I'm guessing you made?) I swiped the pink winnie the pooh hope yah don't mind. Judging by your wiki page, you seem like a level headed guy from all the sensible talk on there about PKers and Malton needing a challenge, and I'm glad I came across you. Now about your question, from what I know I believe the heathers are mostly inactive, RL got a hold of them I guess. Anyways I'll be gunning for yah as soon as I'm done with my current activities, don't take it personal though if we cross paths, we cross paths, I'm not a griefer, and I won't make you a special project, treat yah the same as everybody else that kills me. Oh, and here's a record of our encounter if your wondering what I'm talking about. And by the way, the devil says die already. -- Denver  5MoC 08:51, 14 May 2009 (BST)

Tee hee, why I remember you. Of course, I won't have any hard feelings when you return the favor. And feel free to rock the Pooh template - I'm actually surprised more PKers don't throw it on their wiki page. See ya around Denver! :) --Giles Sednik CAPDSWA 16:22, 14 May 2009 (BST)

Can you give some input on this please. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 20:57, 9 June 2009 (BST)

Thanks

This game is a lot of fun and the wiki's one of the best parts. I'm just aiming to get information out there so people know what the score is, especially when they're headed into a new area like I often am. : ) Thanks for letting me know someone's watching, man. Hope to see you around in-game and on-wiki. --William talk 20:51, 20 June 2009 (BST)

Edits to protected articles

I'd be happy to help but (annoyingly) you have to submit a request on A/PT for that kind of thing. --Cyberbob 04:06, 29 June 2009 (BST)

Starting Clothes Suggestion

Hey Giles, maybe you could take the starting clothes idea to the suggestions page for voting. It seems you have a better grasp of the advantages of the concept than I do, and you outlined some good additions for it as well. What do you say?--Degree7 06:54, 14 August 2009 (BST)

I think you were doing a fine job, but I'll be happy to put the suggestion up for you. It's a good suggestion. I don't think it will pass though, but let's see what happens!--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 07:48, 14 August 2009 (BST)
Yeah, worth a try.--Degree7 21:22, 14 August 2009 (BST)
Thanks a lot man, I think it's gonna make it through to peer reviewed, hopefully. --Degree7 04:19, 15 August 2009 (BST)

CAPD design

Ok i am going to begin that...the most important idea is to make a public area like:DNRlist,Board of News,ETC, to make CAPD residents fell welcome in our forum.--(x)AlvaromesaTalk | Bacardi |MPD | Malton Public Radio 06:52, 18 August 2009 (BST)

Unmerging

It's called unmerging grouped location articles, feel free to do it. What you do is go to, say, Stanbury_Village_Churches#St._Eusebius.27s_Church, and then just cut +paste the info at St. Eusebius's Church. If the destination is already taken up with a location page or a disambiguation page, make it at St. Eusebius's Church (Stanbury Village). This isn't necessary in this case.

The only tricky think you need to make sure you do is ensure you've changed the coding on the LocationBlock template from {{Locationblockmerge| to {{Locationblock|, and under coordinates=53,54|, make a new line and add location_type=Church| when you make the individual article. That way the map will show up with the building information at the bottom. It sounds confusing, but just tweak around with it, it'll work eventually. Don't be afraid to screw it up, accidents happen.

Once all the locations on portals like Stanbury Village Churches have been created into their own articles, these portals become redundant and can be deleted as Crit 1's through speedy deletions.

--DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 01:54, 19 August 2009 (BST)

And cmon, potential vandalism? Trying to help out =/= vandalism. Good luck with the location pages. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 01:56, 19 August 2009 (BST)
Right on. Yeh I would of course create the correct pages first and then put the crappy ones up for deletion. I just didn't know if people have tried this before and gotten into edit wars or whatever. It seems very strange that Stanbury Village and Dunnell Hills have this crazy formating, I thought maybe people viewed it as a legitimate style of formatting otherwise it should have been fixed long ago. Thanks, I'll get cracking on it.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 02:07, 19 August 2009 (BST)
Ah, fair enough. Typically, we treat it as an ultimate goal that every location will have its own page, eventually. Until then, it's up to the more dedicated users to complete the job. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 02:26, 19 August 2009 (BST)
Hope y'all don't mind me butting in here, but just want to add make sure you redirect all the incoming links towards the appropriate building before you delete the massed page. I learned that part the hard way.--~ Red Hawk One Talk | space for lease 05:30, 19 August 2009 (BST)
Excellent point. I was going to do all the work in my sandbox and get everything working before putting up the old stuff for deletion. So it would probably be a good idear to keep a copy of the old page in a sandbox somewhere in case anything gets messed up. Thanks!--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 07:41, 19 August 2009 (BST)

edit conflicted: NO problem. I actually screwed it up a little bit but I'm in the process of getting it fixed. For some reason I ended up with the wrong suggestion number. But I'm about to put the incorrect version up for speedy delete. Should be sorted out pretty soon here. Don't be afraid to ask other users for help when submitting a suggestion in the future. And consider using Developing Suggestions before putting it up for a vote. Good luck.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 15:49, 9 October 2009 (BST)

Will do Giles but it's a bit daunting when you've got people like -LAZURMAN IV calling you a Dumbass and an idiot when they don't even know me lol.

That was snarky. Thanks for the link though.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 23:39, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Maybe it was, but you caused unnecessary work due to your 'manner' of doing it. I don't like cleaning up after people especially when it's easier to do from scratch myself. Next time leave Rosslessness or myself a message and we'll do it. Fucking up the process causes havoc with the archives. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 00:01, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Again with the 'tude. But yes, now that I know I'll cycle the suggestion correctly. I'm not sure why you think it's more effective to make your point in an insulting, belittling manner, but for me it does nothing. I'm always happy to learn more about any process and for that I'm thankful, but your snide behavior is unnecessary and when I need to instruct someone else about their errors on the wiki, I'll be sure to treat them with greater respect than you've shown me.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 00:17, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Unmerged Locations

Thanks for the heads up about unmerging.

But I've noticed something. This page is already part of the Whittenside category but it doesn't have Category:Whittenside in it anywhere. I think it may have something to do with the suburb tag in the location block template. --RahrahCome join the #party!20:16, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

The LocationBlock template (on the right) gives all locations a suburb category and a building type category. Adding those in the article is redundant unless you need to change the sort key. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 20:22, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for clearing that up Rooster, I actually didn't realize the category templates serve the same function as the text at the beginning of the locationblock template. So, here's an issue. When you copy the code from the grouped locationblockmerge it will look like this:
{{Locationblockmerge
suburb=Whittenside
coordinates = 00,11
The problem with that code is that it's missing the line which specifies the building type. So you'll have to add the building type between suburb = and coordinates =. Or, I reckon, you could just add the building category template to the bottom of the page. DDR actually left some great instructions for unmerging up there.
One final note. When you unmerge a location, you'll want to remove all of the #s. Take a look at Jepp Way. I just removed the #s on the street names but I left it there for Hellings Lane. You can try clicking on the link for Hellings Lane to see what happens when the # hasn't been removed. It just redirects to the same page.
Btw, good luck on your candidacy. I really do think you're a very good user and you have the demeanor to be a good sysop. Just keep asking questions and keep learning and you'll be ready soon.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 20:42, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Yeah those #'s allow you to go to a specific header on another page (so the merged locations would usually pick out the specific location in mind e.g. This Location) without a page in front of them, those #'s will send you to a header on the current page. They can be removed from unmerged locations, which also means you can reduce Some Location right down to Some Location. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 20:51, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
