Bad Suggestions and Annoying Suggestions
I'm not sure about the vote since there wasn't really a consensus. I leave most of the bureaucratic stuff like that to Odd and STER. The information in them really isn't needed anymore. We already have a much superior version of those pages created and fleshed out. Adding any more information would just be restating things in different words. I say go ahead and delete them. The suggestions page people have never even heard of them, so I doubt they'd be missed. --Zaruthustra-Mod 05:27, 27 March 2006 (BST)
Requests to Y N Ovelt
I realized why the character, Y N Ovelt, seemed so familiar to me. Turns out my own guy, Caleb Usher, sees his name almost every day when I make my rounds to the Waish Building. After our recent discussion on Location templates I figured why not make 2 requests of your character.
The first is this. My daily routine has Caleb visit the Waish Building to issue a NecroNet report. A screenprint of which is taken, made into a JPEG, and uploaded to the Wiki. The reports for the current month are stored here: NecroNet Reports. I was hoping to expand my efforts to other buildings (and avoid PKing... seems I'm too popular for my own good), but in order to do that I would need someone to look after the daily reports from the Waish Building. Would you be willing to do that?
The second request is can you redirect, if not already, all revive traffic to Mermagen Street. I know, I know, you're with the SoK and already advocate this, but if I had confirmation that Sirl Plaza was tagged to re-direct zombies to Mermagen Street and word of mouth at the NT building sent staff to that location then I would be more than willing to Edit the Sirl Plaza page to list its been shut-down. Or you could... personally I think the revive pages are "too wordy" as is... a lot of the info is superfluous when the facts should simple be: who watches this location (procedure, i.e. Sok Talk page), what to do in case of line-ups, where to go when revived. End of story, no "You can find newspapers here" nonsense. Uh, what was my point? Oh yeah. We need to shutdown Sirl Plaza. Ah, the memories... damn zombie hunters from Pegrum Place PD though can keep it in their pants though so it's just not worth keeping it active. --Mobius187 4:41 PM, Mar 17 2006 (EST)
- I'm not really based at Waish, but somedays when I have insufficient AP, I get stuck there. I barely have enough AP to run to Mermagen Street and back, let alone access the NecroNet... and I have tagged Sirl a large number of times, but someone has always reverted the tagging, so I haven't bothered for a long while. I don't have a spray can though at the moment, so there's nothing I can do. I'll put out the call to Sons of Korhal and see what happens. --Nov W!, Talk 05:44, 18 March 2006 (GMT)
- Ah good. I noticed you updated the Sirl Plaza page, and being the kind of guy that I am, I went and edited it some more. Not that anyone would not have realized it had been shut down from what you wrote I just have a habit of re-writing things. :P
- In addition I've updated the links to St. Odile's Church and the references to Sirl Plaza on the Pescodside suburb page. I even added a news item for added emphasis.
- On another note, I created a NecroNet report for the Waish Building this morning only to discover you had already posted one. From what you've written though I gather this was a "one time" deal? If you are staying closer to Mermagen Street then might I suggest NecroNet reports for the Inman Building? One last thing. As you know from the Location template I'm always interested in adding more "points of interest" to the suburbs. Are there any buildings within Pescodside that are being used for a purpose you would like documented? --Mobius187 8:39 AM, Mar 20 2006 (EST)
The Prior Monument
I noticed there was a new link to The Prior Monument, but no page. rather than leave it "as is" I created one for that location. Tell me what you think... as I found my idea very intriguing. ;P --Mobius187 1:18 PM, Mar 21 2006 (EST)
Oh mans.
Nevermind. So long without any reply.. you're fitting in already. :D lol -- Amazing 00:15, 27 March 2006 (BST)
It was the weekend... and I was away... unlike you, Amazing, I do have a life outside of Urban Dead and the wiki you know :) --Nov W!, Talk 04:29, 27 March 2006 (BST)
- Haven't seen that one before. Yep! If you disagree with someone, then they must spend 24 hours a day on the internet. Good work, you're hilarious.
- By the way, I checked your Contributions. You were on during the weekend (Yesterday), and you post about as much as I do, if not more. So you're a liar like so many others.
- When you're going to lie, pick something that isn't easily disproven. I'm sure this will just draw indignant, self-preserving ire, but I call a ♠ a ♠. -- Amazing 19:45, 27 March 2006 (BST)
- It was Monday yesterday though :) The advantages of being way way ahead of you. See, there's this place called Australia... and I didn't realise we were having a disagreement... must have been a ♠ thing there. BTW, I never said anyone spends 24 hours on the internet, so uh... I'm a bit clueless there as well. Must be another ♠ thing again. Hey, I don't think I like this ♠ thing - it seems to cause a lot of confusion and people seem to get nasty because of it. --Nov W!, Talk 12:08, 28 March 2006 (BST)
- Your razor wit wounds me. You were active on the wiki on 22:29, 26 March 2006 and thereafter. I made my report to you on 13:51, 25 March 2006. I retracted my report you on 00:15, 27 March 2006 (BST) - And it's on your user talk page, which alerts you to "new messages" upon your arrival. Please cease the doubletalk, because the black and white records of this wiki support what I'm saying. You claim you didn't know about the report and weren't on and all that. I've proven that to be false. :( -- Amazing 21:36, 28 March 2006 (BST)
- My apologies then. The funny thing is, I did not get alerted to the "new messages" until the time I replied. I have no idea why, nor am I making it into an excuse. I apologize to you for any inconvienence caused to you and yours. I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind you that I'm not an arbitrator anyways, so I have no idea what you would have wanted me to do. It is nice to see that you have solved the problem peacefully yourself without an administrator to help. Besides, as far as I understand it, an admin here isn't to baby sit each and every user of the wiki. As Odd Starter says, we are normal users just like everyone else. We just have a few more features and a lot more responsibilities. --Nov W!, Talk 06:59, 29 March 2006 (BST)
- No problem. As a Mod I was coming to you with a vandal. If it didn't alert you then there's no reason for me to think it was ignored. The problem is that when I mention things to Moderators, they get different treatment simply because of the number of vandals I have reported, as you well know. I've even been warned for reporting someone who was actively deleting my entries, etc. WELCOME TO AMAZING DRAMA! BAHAHAHAHAHA. -- Amazing 19:03, 29 March 2006 (BST)
Congratulations!
Before Amazing takes up all your time with his never ending saga of personal problems with another user let me take the time to congratulate you with becoming a mod. We need more people like you. (not just to work through all the reports amazing makes) Well done, and don't get to bummed out with all extra work you just got -well you asked for it, so I guess you'll know what you're doing.- Cheers!
--Vista W! 23:03, 25 March 2006 (GMT)
Funnity funnity!
So yeah, I'm talking to you directly to get input before I take other steps. Amazing is trying to essentially delete the NPOV section (something he's done before by "archiving" it, and been warned about it by Zaruthustra) by reducing font size, changing font, changing the font color to match the background, deleting the link breaks, etc.. It's obvious he doesn't want it there, but it's equally as obvious that he just doesn't want to get in trouble for actually deleting it. --Lucero Capell 23:05, 1 April 2006 (BST)
- It would help if I knew which page you are talking about... --Nov W!, Talk 09:06, 3 April 2006 (BST)
Are there any policies against Verbal Abuse?
Today I was suggesting some new ideas into the suggestion page, and I recieved several, erm, verbal abuses. It may possibly because of my suggestions, but I really don't see it as why I should recieve verbal abuse, a dismissal of my idea will be fine, I dont see verbal abuse as needed in that situation. At the moment I do not wish to have names as I feel threatened.
Just to ensure you understand everything. I should tell you everything regarding this.
I was doing this new suggestion, and forgot that new suggestion has to go to bottom of the page. After inspection, and read the rules again, I realised I have put the suggestion the wrong place. Straight after this, I used copy and paste to move the suggestion to the bottom, and had pasted twice. I did not realise at that moment as I was facing a vast amout of text. After submitting the changes, I realised I had two multiple suggestions which are identical by the mistake described above. At that moment I went back to edit, and I simply just deleted one without noticing theres a vote by Grim S (I think that was him), which now I have put it back again. Which can now be seen at the suggestion page. I hope this is clear enough to prove that it was simply a honest mistake rather than a 'planned' thing.
And then I noted it at the end of the page. Again, I recieved another verbal abuse. I understand theres another post regarding me apprantly was vandaling the suggestion page, nope. Just described above.
Sorry I can't put a link to the suggestion part. But I am confident that you will definately find it there. [changchad]
- Thanks for the reply, any way of it being raised as an issue?
Re: Misconduct Hearing
I have a pending Misconduct case that needs to be resolved ASAP. This is a general call for any Moderator currently active to judge this case. -- Odd Starter talk • Mod • W! 07:19, 7 April 2006 (BST)
Thanks
In an effort to curtail some of the bad mojo-karma-feelings that is circulating through some of the Wiki right now I just wanted to drop a line and say Thanks for volunteering to help this Wiki. You and I may disagree on some of the issues regarding layout and developement, but it doesnt mean I don't appreciate your efforts. (No I didnt appreciate you reffering to my location edits as Spam but I got over it...) When the Real World TM calms down, be sure that I will be back on adding new and more location pages: this time following the guidlines that you have now developed. (I still wish those guidlines had been posted before I started... ah but such is life.) Thanks again. Conndraka 17:37, 12 April 2006 (BST)

I'm trying for modship (all the cool kids are doing it), care to give your opinion about me and my suitabilaty?--Vista W! 13:44, 19 April 2006 (BST)
Attempt to find resolution and common ground
Because of the near perfect split on the discussion of Language an Offensive Users I created a page where maybe we can find an acceptable solution. If not, well at least I tried. Page can be found Moderation/Locational Language/Interaction I took on the mantle of responsible party so that even the MODs can state thier ideas and opinions. Conndraka 19:06, 22 April 2006 (BST)

Consider me shot... Feel free to take over any and all of my Wiki projects. The number of pages you deleted was unnecessary to delete. Once the pages were created there wasn't any harm in leaving them. i.e. there was no need to delete them. You want to make it your wiki? Have fun. And no, I do everything by hand.. no bots. Conndrakamod T W! 02:29, 16 June 2006 (BST)
- Just because you spam without a bot, doesn't make it any less spam. There are 11 Speedy Delete criterias - all you have to do is to make sure that your pages doesn't fall into one of those categories. I didn't write those Speedy Delete criteria, I'm just following them. Besides, I know users do not appreciate pages with no content, it just makes the wiki look like a ghost town. Leave the pages uncreated if you can't at least write something useful in them so that if someone sees a blank link and think that they want the challenge of actually writing up a page, they can take up the challenge to create a page. Creating a page and then splashing your name all over it is just like a dog pissing on it to mark its territory - it discourages other people from doing anything to it. It's all about quality, not quantity. I know we are all pressed for time so instead of striving for quanity, we should aim for quality. --Nov W!, Mod, Talk 13:14, 16 June 2006 (BST)
Suburbs category page
yeah... people were already using the category page for aeons and now you decide to switch ? what the f-- ? --hagnat mod 17:12, 16 June 2006 (BST)
- It was getting a bit unwieldy with the link near the top. The Location pages are setup that way too, so I was getting it to the same spec as the location pages. I've also changed all the links so that the links that used to point towards the category now point towards the Suburb page, unless you've reverted them all. --Nov W!, Mod, Talk 17:50, 16 June 2006 (BST)
Since Category:Suburb is no longer relevant, please don't go adding that link anywhere in the disambig pages. I'm going to get to work on overhauling them. –Xoid S•T•FU! 10:58, 19 June 2006 (BST)
Note to Nov from Jim
I'm not completely sure I'm communicating to you in the right place.. But thanks for the directions. I've been running a couple of characters for about two months. But newish to the UD Wiki and Wikis in general. The Smith Arms is home for the moment and because 50APs can get burnt in no time I felt like adding some fluff to the place. Cheers, Ol
Arhh.. I think I get it. Rather than link a place with it's building type it should be left as is until such time as it has it's own wiki entry. Thanks again.
Additional. Xoid has pointed out I really should be using the "show preview" when making edits. lesson learnt. As suggested I've added date stamps to information that maybe subject to (sudden) change. Do the Smith Arms and the Storke Building pages conform to the guide now? I can't see for looking.. Cheers, Jim. 00:05 June 18 2006 (GMT)
Grouped Locations
Yagoton Wasteland. Shouldn't that be moved to, or become a redirect to [[Wasteland X,Y]]
of the one wasteland in Yagoton? –Xoid S•T•FU! 14:33, 20 June 2006 (BST)
- Probably... and done! That page was created before the guide was written. BTW, what's that </nowiki> doing in my talk page? --Nov W!, Mod, Talk 15:06, 20 June 2006 (BST)
Hospitals / Blocking of Wykewood buildings
Thanks for the kudos and for pointing me to the style guide once again. What is the general attitude toward blocking of suburbs? If I adhere to the style guide, am I free to forge ahead as I may? --Max Grivas JG 03:52, 21 June 2006 (BST)
Suburb block
I've created a new template for the Locations project: {{Suburbblock}}. You can see it in action at the Darvall Heights page. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 22:10, 21 June 2006 (BST)
Started adding maps
I've started adding suburb maps to all of the suburb pages (I'm just working my way across the map). I've developed a method that allows me to create the maps easily, so that's not a problem, but the generic buildings ("a warehouse," etc) are not linked automatically to their correct pages (e.g., "Warehouse xx,yy"). There may be other small errors too, but I haven't found any yet. Just to let you know, and if you're ever bored, feel free to pick your favorite suburb and tweak the map to bring everything up to par. I've done the first 10 suburbs so far. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 20:35, 23 June 2006 (BST)
Locationblock/Suburbblock Links
I've been working extensively with Bob's {{Suburbblock}} and wanted to get some feedback on matters of style. If you have time, take a look at Barrville#Suburb_Map or Wykewood#Suburb_Map. I have been producing the maps so that blocks which often have there names altered as per the Style Guide display the name as they would be seen in the game yet link to the page as directed in the guide. Wanker Building would be 'the Wanker Building' when viewing the map but the click through would carry you to 'The Wanker Building' and similarly for St Whoever. There seems to be a great deal of inconsistency in how these presented and linked on many 9 block maps currently in place. Do you have any specific thoughts on how these should appear? --Max Grivas JG|T 07:31, 27 June 2006 (BST)
Modship
I know that you haven't seen much of my work on the wiki (as I understand it, you were absent for a while), but since you have seen some of what I've done around here, and I haven't gotten a tremendous amount of feedback so far, I thought you should know that I'm currently running for moderator. If you feel like voicing your opinion on my suitability, I'd be glad to hear it. If not, that's okay too. Thanks. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 20:45, 29 June 2006 (BST)
