Dunell Hills is a suburb of Malton built by wealthy Malton business leaders between 1880 and 1920, located in the west of the city. The district is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is also listed in the Undead Public Records of Commerce and Business. Copies can be found in the back of the Dury Building.

Resting on the very outskirts of Malton, the Hills was a small community that had generally kept to itself. The suburb supported several clinics and research hospitals and as such had a brisk medical trade in the area.

The suburb contains only one NecroTech facility: the Dury Building. It does, however, boast an impressive 6 hospitals, as well as 3 police stations, 3 factories and an Auto Shop. Dunell Hills is also home to historical site Club Meade -- one of the more famous RP bars in Malton -- when the suburb is not in zombie hands.

Hometown to the DHPD the "Hills" are also infamous as the birthplace of mega horde The Dead and site of bitter rivalry between the two that has destroyed much of the town's infrastructure and former reputation as a safezone for survivors.

A Brief History of Dunell Hills After the Outbreak

Dunell Hills, a small quiet community that had always kept to itself, rests on the very outskirts of Malton. It was during a town meeting at Godsland Street School that the quarantine of the area was instituted and as such the local population could not organize themselves before they were practically decimated by various waves of zombies that swept through the suburb.

After the initial chaos and bloody slaughter a group calling itself the Dunell Hills Police Department, after the city's pre-outbreak police force and formed from remnants of emergency services, military, and survivor militia, established this suburb as the heart of the Dunell Military Zone, in what eventually became 6 borough region which they have pledged to patrol and defend.

Since the Fall of Caiger Mall, Dunell Hills has often been a very dangerous suburb, at certain points completely devoid of life. This was initially caused when many of the zombies drawn to Caiger Mall chose to remain in the region; since then local survivors have been under almost constant siege -- including fierce battles with Extinction in 2007 and the arrival en masse of The Dead in 2008, the latter having vowed never to permit survivors to reside in Dunell Hills again.

The Dead, in fact, succeeded in making Dunell Hills a wasteland from November 2007 to September 2008. Although there were several concerted attempts by different survivor groups to retake the suburb during this time, none of these incursions met with more than transitory and limited success. At the end of this period, repair costs averaged around 50 AP, with some buildings in the high 90s. However, the latter half of September 2008 saw the DHPD, the Crimson Clan, the Malton Rangers and other survivors move back into the 'Hills', establishing a stable survivor "beachhead" for the first time in over a year. The Dead returned in mid-October and the two sides engaged in a bloody battle which resulted in the DHPD being pushed out of the suburb by November 2008; the area was subsequently placed into a state of ruin once again; ever since that period the suburb has continued to change hands on an almost constant basis.

The current state of Dunell Hills is in flux, and may always be -- with victories large and small for both sides, and the major local groups continuing to make Dunell Hills a constant and sometimes violent battleground.

There are a grand total of four buildings not currently empty and ruined. These do not include a single resource building, nor a single powered building, nor anything of any strategic value. Mobs of zombies are busy hammering down those barricades anyway. The free-running lanes into the suburb have been cut off, and the surrounding suburbs are equally devastated. There is no survivor presence within the suburb at all. If there has been an attempt to "reclaim" the suburb by a certain group who hasn't been able to do so for the past three years, then it has gone more or less unnoticed. --カシュー, ザ ゾンビ クィーン (ビープ ビープ) ;x You rated this wiki '1'! DHPD Officer 666 and Officer Alcoholic do not represent the DHPD. Any reports from them are not based on information held by the DHPD. The DHPD considers any information they provide to be suspect at best and outright fabrication at worst. We recommend survivors do not act on any information they provide. Purple Cat ~ DHPD 09:24, 15 April 2011 (BST)

- The above information is misinformation planted by the Malton Globetrotters via a proxy Purple Cat ~ DHPD. DHPD Officer 666 and Officer Alcoholic are indeed representatives of the DHPD. Please ignore the above.

We are making some significant headway into repairing buildings. We've taken back a Fire Department and a Church and we held the Dury building very briefly. Troops, get in, barricade and restore the building, then work on getting the lights on. Show them that we won't be afraid and we won't be held out of our suburb. --User:Officer Alcoholic 16:19, 13 April 2011 (CST)

It is impossible to walk the streets of Dunell Hills. Dangerous does not begin to cover it. Zeds everywhere. Destruction everywhere. No resources. I believe there are currently no survivors in Dunell Hills. Recommend that everyone avoid Dunell Hills until the DHPD can regroup and clean house. --==Warning==

Less than 72 hours later, Dunell Hills is once more a dead zone. Of the 56 buildings in the suburb, only 5 are intact as of this report, 2 of which are open and 1 only lightly barricaded. Groups of undead sighted from the street of up to a dozen, overall count outside was ~70 with more expected inside. Suburb is extremely dangerous. --User:Tempest56 15:19, 1 April 2011 (EST)

March

March 31st

Suburb was mostly in survivor hands as of yesterday. However, The Dead appear to have staged a major resurgence and the number of active undead in the Hills has doubled or more in the last 24 hours. Entire area around Dury has been demolished, with multiple break-ins across the area. NW quadrant is currently still safe, but the SE is almost totally destroyed and the SW is being hit hard. Situation is still developing. Neighboring suburbs are suggested to be on alert for spill-over. --User:Tempest56 10:20, 31 March 2011 (EST)

March 24th

The fighting in Dunell Hills seems to have stabilised to an impasse - the majority of buildings and resource points in the suburb are now barricaded and lit, although breakins continue to happen regularly all across the suburb. The central resource buildings remain in zombie hands for the majority of the time, although survivors frequently clear up to 18 zeds at a time to reclaim them before they're ruined again within hours. Hundreds of survivors continue to operate in the suburb, with revive queues dealt with in a timely manner. Ezekiel UK 23:08, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

March 17th

Intense fighting continues. At the moment most major resource buildings are ruined, but there's a constant stream of survivor incursions. The undead appear to have the current advantage thanks to holding Dury and the surrounding buildings with large numbers, but there are survivor footholds in other parts of the suburb. Fighting is likely to continue for some time. --User:Tempest56 01:33, 17 March 2011 (EST)

March 8th

The Hills have been turned into a war zone again. The DHPD appears to have rallied a large number of allies to their cause - The Fortress, Army Control Corps, Knights Templar and Soldiers of Crossman have all been spotted in the suburb during fighting in the last day or two. Multiple buildings are up and barricaded (sometimes even lit), but The Dead and assorted others are keeping a near-constant assault on resource buildings. It's unclear at this time which has the advantage, though the survivors seem to currently have a lead in numbers. --User:Tempest56 14:19, 8 March 2011 (EDT)
